Speaker: JB Bond, Th.M (Senior Pastor)
Topic of Study: Book of Galatians
Description: The Law was never intended to provide salvation. Man is justified before God on the basis of faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. The Law, as the Apostle Paul explains in today's passage, was intended to point us to the coming Savior, the Messiah Jesus Christ.

We are obedient to the Law BECAUSE we are saved. Only those who DO the will of the Father will enter heaven. The first commandment Yeshua gave us is to keep and teach the Law..The Torah... God's instructions.

One could only imagine what our worship of the Father might look like if we didn’t have His Instructions (the Law) to use as a tutor, but trusted in my own understanding of righteousness, or worse yet, someone else’s understanding, before Christ is able to fulfilled the Law in our heart (Galatians 3:23-25). Without the righteousness of Christ we might be tempted to worship the Father in a way that seems right to us, but in the end will lead to death (Proverbs 14:12) because we might worship the Father in ways that are not pleasing to Him because we worship Him as the nations worship their gods (Deuteronomy 12:4) by holding onto the traditions of my pagan forefathers (Mark 7:8). Traditions the Father says are worthless, like cutting trees out of the forest and adorning it with silver and gold and then fastening them so they doesn’t totter (Jeremiah 10:3-4). Or I could make a fatal mistake of giving honor to a false god like E-ster for the resurrection of Christ (Exodus 23:13), or I might join with the Beast by changing the Father’s set apart times (Daniel 7:25). This is why it’s only by using the Law as a tutor are we able to discover the idols of our heart, the idols that keep us from finding true joy and peace. May you be blessed in your pursuit of truth.

Romans 10:4 Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to them that believe. The Law pointed man to Christ, pointed man to faith in Christ. In that sense, Jesus fulfilled the Law. The Lord said one jot of the Law would not pass away without being fulfilled because He was going to fulfill it...in the sense that it pointed to Him. The Lord did not mean to say that we are stuck on obeying the Mosaic Law. The Law brought us to Christ so we mught be justified by faith. Galatians 3:23.

It gets deeper than that, there was no law from Adam to Moses yet Cain still murdered his brother Abel. God put a curse on Cain but Cain did not break the law. So why did God curse him? Because he did not love his brother! Now we have a new commandment to love one another, if we do not love one another we have serious problems

I defer that there was no law from Adam/Eve to Moses; How about Genesis 2:16,17? 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

In Romans 6 for ye are not under the LAW (Leviticus 24:15-23), but by grace (John 8:1-15) .... ..For the wages of sin is death (Leviticus 24 ONE MANNER OF LAW); but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.(John3:16, 8:1-15) The commandments still stand.. Revelation 12:17, 14:12, Malachi 4, Matthew 5:17-18, in Daniel 7 & 8 he sees the end times till the Ancient of days returns to reign forever. And in chapter 9 Daniel begins to pray and mentions the law of Moses...ISAIAH 24:5 " The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant." (Hebrews 10:16, Isaiah 8:16,20)

you have one heck of a rebellious heart and don't even realize it. if we are to walk as he walked people maybe you should ask yourself how he walked? and your theological Doctrine does not line up scripturally. he also says I put before you life and death blessings and curses blessings if you keep them curses if you don't. you call the law a curse but the law brings you blessings it doesn't save you but if you break it it brings the curse. you say the law shows you God's righteousness why wouldn't you want to try to follow it to the best of your ability?

Amen...its because they stumble at the word. Its simple justification by faith is what happens the moment you're born again and God sweeps your body and makes it a temple for Himself. That is saved by faith alone at that moment and law you were under that condemned you you've been set free from past tresspasses. Then it says shall we continue in Sin that grace may abound..God Forbid how can we that are dead to Sin continue therein. If you are born again and dead to Sin then you're a new creature that is dead to tresspassing agsinst moral laws. The confusion is the pastors don't understand is two fold...The jews were going about to establish their own righteousness..rather than repent and beleive (Christ belief is faith combined with repentance while calling on the saviour and He through The Holy Ghost not only supernaturally cleanses your conscience but also changes your mind and heart towards Sin). So to finish here..The Jew than rather depend on God would follow the law by their own arm rather than by faith...read hebrews 11. So the law isn't nullified in any dispensation its established and written upon on our hearts. The differnce is we now have Gods DNA the Holy Ghost is us and we yield to Him and dont war against Gods laws anymore.

"And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian?" This is in response to the teaching here that the law is temporary. First of all, even Paul will cannot agree with this, because his argument that GOD can judge anybody at any time, even those who have not heard the gospel, is based on the idea that the law is not temporary nor dependent on time or space but it is eternal. Now Paul says what can be known of GOD is clearly seen so that no man is without excuse. Think about it, if the law was only for Moses, and began with Moses, then how could GOD send it flood to wipe out a whole earth full of people that did not know the law. How could they know that murder is wrong is there is no law to tell them. The law, which is sum up as love GOD with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself, is written in the heart of all man--through the revelation of the "things that are made." That includes your mind and your conscious. Even a child understand property rights. "ITS MINE!" There favorite saying at a certain age. So they understand what it means to have something taken away from you, YET, every child will steal from another, not because they do not know it is painful to be stolen from, but because they do not care about their neighbor, only themselves, that is all of us. Moses killed an Egyptian before the people of Israel received the written law, and they objected to it. Because the connection is easy to make, if someone thinks they can go around killing whoever they want, then you could be next. This is a logic even pagans know. Salvation is by faith alone, or rather I should say, by GOD alone; "unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe," and GOD is the one who cultivate faith, and faith comes from GOD, so although the phrase by faith alone is true, the main part is missing, that is, God is the sole cultivator of faith, and so, really salvation comes from GOD alone. However, to fight against this idea of work based salvation, people are to say strange things. Such as the law begin with Moses. The first thing that we should know about the law, that it is timeless, is that it came from the mouth of GOD. Everything that GOD says stands forever. If he says you should not steal on Monday, does that mean on Tuesday it is OK to start stealing.

I tell you so many in the religious community are portraying the word of God completely wrong. The Bible does not teach anything about you having a relationship with Jesus or Jesus forgiving your sins. In fact Hebrews 9:15 says that Jesus only died for those under the first covenant, and that's because he promised to forgive their sins only as part of their covenants close.. The promise of the New Covenant only teaches that we were to be released from the original sin of Adam so each individual can be held accountable for their own inequities before the Lord Jeremiah 31:29 and 30. You guys are preaching a false message

There was no codified "Mosaic Law" at the time of Adam. The "law", knowing right from wrong, has always been there and is written on our hearts (Romans 2:15).

What we keeping staying on this point we all know that salvation is by Grace and Grace along. The law was around before Moses, ask adam, also noah, Cain knew he murder His brother. Jesus did not come abolish the law or prophets and writings. Paul never taught the we esblish, Christ is the end that is totally taken context, remember translation Christ is the purpose of law. When God promise the new covenant He said He would write the law on our hearts, wait minute why He get ride of it when He is going to write it on hearts. No one is arguing without faith there is no Salvation. Laws tell us how to please God and live clean in front of God. You can believe in Christ but if you live in sin your not going to eternal life. So how do we know what is Sin? The law tells us what is a sin. You said it's impossible to keep all the commandment again your wrong. 1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. The devil comes in sheep clothing and wants to put God's people to sleep. Why wouldn't he want to keep Gods people blind by making them ignorant of the law. The guideline of what tell us what is Sin. We need Law and Faith to get to heaven. Law is our guide. Christ will be our lawyer in heaven.

Also the Bible teaches they were given a Measure of Faith and the only ones who received the promise were the bloodline of Isaac only. The Bible tells you no man can come unless he's chosen telling people to have faith is a false ideology You guys completely ignore the word seed in the text which clearly means their bloodline not you.. Romans 9 7Neither, because they are the bloodline of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy bloodline be called. 8That is, They which are the children of the flesh,= Ishmael ) are not the children of God: but the children of the promise=( Isaac) are counted for the bloodline. 9For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. Genesis 17:21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year

Jesus nailed the Law to the cross.. We as Christians are not under the law, so why do we need the law? A Christian can't sin, if you have the spirit of God you can't sin, your flesh can sin and Paul talks about that. If you want to subject yourself to those laws and try to live up to them, something that only one person in history that has been able to do, you will fail. The scripture is all in the Bible..

A Christians is still capable of sin, but they just pray it off so it don't overwhelm them. Christ said that he did not came to abolish the law, but to fulfill it. And there is also another statement that said that only those who do the will of the father enters the kingdom of heaven, and identifies them (not saved) as workers of inequities or lawlessness.

Tim Taylor Where in Paul's letters does it say the law was nailed to the cross ??? How about the hand written ordinances that are against us. The hand written ordinance against us are the ordinances that we transgressed. Transgression of the law is sin. Those hand written ordinances ,sin, represent our certificate of death, or divorce. under the law is rabbinical not referring to Mosaic law, the holy spirit causes you to keep the law , not transgress it. We are to subject our selves to God's law , not man's .

I would love to debate this preacher, he contradicts him self so much. He makes blanket statements about the law that aren't true. The word law in hebrew and Greek are the same thing (Torah) that includes the 10 commandments. He says that the law is done away with, so the 10 commandments are done away with too?? Makes no sense. Plus fulfilling the law does not mean abolish or do away with. It mean to fill up to do it. One last thing we need to actually look at the Mosaic law which is not moses law at all, its God's law. See and study about the law its self and see how beautiful it is. So much to unpack in this sermon. The modern church doesnt have a clue.

You are right in that we are not saved by keeping Law. You are wrong about everything else you say. The Law is permanent (Matthew 5:17-19.). The Law defines sin ( 1 John 3:4). The Law is not too difficult for us (1 John 5:3). The Law teaches us how to live (1 John 2:3-4). You claim that keeping the Law is a curse. That is the same as calling God a liar. He says that the Law is freedom, truth, light, and perfection. You are teaching people to break the Law. That path is what brings the curses you reference. I would hate to have to justify such a legacy on the Great Day. Everyone is either a law keeper or a law breaker. I pray that you soon repent of teaching people to be the latter.
