CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Chris (Will Smith) gets the big news that he has been granted the coveted stockbroker position.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The rousing, true-life story of a single dad who went from living on the streets to owning his own brokerage firm is brought to the big screen by superstar Will Smith, appearing for the first time opposite his real-life son Jaden Smith. Set in early-'80s San Francisco, the film charts the hard times and eventual comeback of Chris Gardner, a suddenly single salesman who has custody of his son, but finds that providing for the two of them is a challenge in the increasingly unstable economic climate. He struggles to work his way from unpaid intern at Dean Witter to something more substantial, even as life continues to offer him setbacks. Making his Hollywood debut, Italian director Gabriele Muccino was championed by Will Smith for the project.
CREDITS:

Cast: James Karen, Will Smith
Director: Gabriele Muccino
Producers: Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, David Alper, Mark Clayman, Louis D'Esposito, Will Smith, Steve Tisch, Teddy Zee, James Lassiter, Chris Gardner

This scene is so powerful, when he is walking in the crowd containing himself to let out that victorious scream, hundreds of faces all going about their usual business, unaware how one man within there just had his life changed. Breathtakingly beautiful

This reminds me of the time I was at my lowest , I had no job , no money was close to being homeless. I was crying everyday for a miracle. Things got worse when few weeks later my dad passed away. Lost a loved one in my life and being born epileptic I was on high dosage, my health went downhill. One day I showed up at a big company with my portfolio literally begging for someone to recognise my talent. I was interviewed by few people and when they broke the news to me I started the next day I remember on my way out I had tears rolling down my face....since then my life completely changed I own my own property, drive a nice car and met the most loving guy...my life’s turned around completely, thanks to god. Forgive me, but what do you interpret it as. For me it’s about 2 things The boss is a classy guy. The boss sees him as an equal colleague to repay and not a intern to take advantage of. And Chris’s financial luck has turned.
@dobattlers
@dobattlers 2 года назад
@@jimmy2k4o none of that. A person of that caliber isn’t trying to take $5 off interns. You’re worth millions and just taking $5 off interns risking an article leaking about that? No. It’s supposed to show that the boss finally learned and completely understood smith’s struggle. At the boss’s level, $5 is basically nothing and people at that level don’t even bother paying people back $5. By him paying smith back it’s an acknowledgement that he isn’t an equal in terms of wealth and that he knows he should pay him back because it’s of value to smith. He knows smith struggled and is poor and he wants smith to know he knows that. Handing him the $5 is like saying “ya i know it wasnt easy, i know ur poor (which is why im paying u back)” its a massive pat on the back saying i just hired you and know your background, you were hired purely based on your hard work, brains, perseverance, etc not your background or pedigree.

The boss giving him back the 5 bucks was such a nice touch to the scene. Also that part where he goes out of the building and walks on the street with the crowd, representing how he now finally is part of them, the "happy" people he talked about in the movie, yet everyone oblivious and ignorant to how his life has drastically changed. Amazing movie direction.

It’s crazy how he kept his composure without shouting out for joy in front of all of them. But the only thing he wanted to do was run and grab his son and just hold him. This scene hits me so hard. I've quit a job that I hated 4 years ago. Went freelancing on my own 1 year later. First months were hell, I barely earned anything and was scraping by. But month after month the money was getting higher bit by bit. 2 and a half years later, I made a breakthrough. Now I'm earning a solid income. Enough to start a family if I wanted to. This scene where Will is walking among the crowd of people in suits after he finally landed the broker job hits right close to home for me, it's showing that Will has finally made it. That he can finally count himself among the successful people. That's how it felt for me too, like I finally wasn't being left out in life anymore.

was jobless for almost a year when this covid-19 pandemic started. I did not have the heart to tell my family about it, and had to find any work to get money. Of course, some loans and debts are involved. when I finally got a stable job, even if the salary is almost half of my previous one, I felt very... very happy and relieved. Now I've paid some my loans to my friends, and on process of settling my credit card debts. Hopefully I can settle this all not too long in the future. I'm very grateful with what I have now, especially in this difficult times for everyone.

+MyTubeIsBetter20 Exactly, and the scene when he drops the notebook after leaving the room is underrated. That was probably the best scene from that scene. Just shows how happy he is, he's so happy he can't cry, he's so happy he can't feel, he's so happy he can't react, he's so happy even though he understands he doesn't know, he's so happy he forgets. It was so unexpected for him, he was working so hard he didn't know what he was doing. This type of happiness is when it hurts when you cry, but it's a good type of pain.

i think it's even more than that..its the first moment in years that he is actually finanically set doesnt have to worry about money or supporting his son the word for it is "happy" which is a loose term that can be manipulated and seen in different context..hes for once calm and doesnt have to plan out every second anymore hoping praying that 1 mistake can cost him everything..he can relax and not worry

***** www.quora.com/Who-are-some-famous-scientists-who-scored-low-on-IQ-tests.- that's called fi ding the answer. It starts with a question. You want to quantify and correlate that vast majority of human thought into a hierarchy form which to judge who will be sucessful. Beyond that you want to come to a specific motivational scene and belittle those who take a piece of knowledge away from it. Intelligence is more than a test. What's worse is you fail to see beyond your own scope. Narrow thinking and attempts to tell the world what is and isn't is the rubble on which science stands on not on the fourth dating of which it is built. Any intelligent individual would recognize the error in a great deal of what you just said. The point I'm trying to arrive at is simple; there is nothing positive to be gained from you tearing down someone like the person whose comment you replied to.

I never had luck with jobs, I'm a shy person and get interviews often cause I have a strong resume, but once they see me in person I never get a call back. I've been trying so hard to get a new job filling out constant applications and being turned down from every one. I was interviewed at a bank last week and there were 15 people being interviewed for the same position. The lady liked me but I assumed i wasn't going to have luck because with my college classes I wasn't available in the late afternoon as much as they wanted. The part when he’s in the crowd of people is done so well.
