Note to interviewers: When you have three of the funniest, smartest people sitting in front of you, don't try to be funny. Leave that to the professionals.

I think what makes them so overwhelmingly funny in an interview format is that you only need one of them to come up with something at a given moment, and the others will roll with it. The fact that one of them ALWAYS has something at a given moment shows the genius, because really, how many people can come up with something funny 1/3rd of the time? Most mortals are lucky if we're funny 0.1% of the time.

Somebody please edit this down to the 20 minutes that Tap speak, with her questions placed in subtitles. That would make this piece far more palatable.

Agreed. Some may have missed it, but when Christopher told the woman off camera she had some cupcake on her lip, Harry said it like news "This just in" and Michael looks at Harry, taps his upper lip and says "Well, ALMOST in" (referring to the piece of cupcake not making it in her mouth) is just genius comedy flowing from them a never ending fountain.

I never watched an interview where the interviewer talks more than 3 clever men combined and continually buts in. Its hard for them to relax and get their rhythm and come up with of the cuff comedy even with their talents as they feeling tense and cant get going with some short stories. I wonder how the diners eating there thought of this.

The upload date is 2012, but the "Unwigged and Unplugged" tour was Spring 2009 and "Back From the Dead" was June 2009, so this must've been recorded Summer of 2009.

I was interested in this because I've seen the guys interviewed as Spinal Tap but never about Spinal Tap. I will have to look for another interview, since as others indicated it was rather hard to listen to this. That is, it was hard to hear the guys' answers as she kept cutting them off, and while they were talking she'd say "Uh Hunh" or laugh loudly.

Love Spinal tap - but I couldn't make it through 3 minutes of this interview. That woman didn't listen, interrupted answers and seems intent on everyone listening to her more than the band. Whoever Carol Joynt is, she needs to be prevented from ever interviewing anyone ever again. just awful.

If you look at the place and the patrons of the place she's in, these are all PBS/NPR backers that have more money than sense. She is a 'local' reporter in the DC area that works for NPR and private cable radio. So it is essentially a rich bitch who funds her own professional hobby.
