Haha... it's never too late for the Quacks party! It really is a lot of fun. We have not tried the expansions yet, though we really should because we do enjoy the base game a lot. Glad you like the shirt!! :-)
This is great -- it's so happy :-) We had our first play through last night & I fumbled explaining the game to my non-gaming but v patient OH. I bought the German version cos found a copy extremely cheaply. Fairly easy to overcome cos only recipe cards really need to be read in German. We ignored the Fortune cards for our 1st play. He had quite a few rubbish draws in 1st few rounds. I didn't push it so I didn't get too far ahead. Once he got into the swing of it and understood the different ingredients, warmed to it. We tied in the end. May have another go this evening.

I've wondered about this game for awhile now & after watching your video I have some first impressions. It seems like a lighter game w/ a fun theme, a good family game perhaps? A little too luck driven maybe, w/ the drawing of the chits from the bag? It seemed that Glai was behind the 8 ball the entire game when her first few turns were not fruitful due to bad luck in drawing, so the timing of your bad draws is critical. That's something that can be very frustrating yet she handled it so well! Congratulations on another well put together playthrough video, it was a joy to watch!
Hi Andrew. Yes, this game is much lighter with a lot of luck involved, but if you don't take it too seriously it is a lot of fun. It does feel strategic when you are buying the chits, but of course it is still down to the luck of the draw in the end. Definitely a good one for the family I think. It is easy to learn and easy to play. Glad you enjoyed the video!
You guys are so fun and cute to watch! The type of people I'd like to play games with :) this is such a fun game, do you ever play with any of the expansions? I only have Herb Witches, but always play with it now.
@@StKnightis64 Dominion is great! Actually, that was Glai's gateway into the hobby. I haven't actually played Sagrada but I hear it is a bit like Azul. Hopefully we'll get to check it out some time!

You asked about Chronicles of Crime. If you love detective and mystery solving games, I would definitely give it a try and see what you think. Another game along that line is Detective: A Modern Crime Story. My friends and I just played the first case and we enjoyed ourselves quite a bit. Anyway, take care and Happy New Year!

Glai got very unlucky with the cherry bombs... I do like detective and mystery solving games so I might just have a look at that one. Which of the two did you enjoy more?
@@ericbanks693 All is good thank you. We had a day of heavy snow here in Tokyo yesterday so it was cold but beautiful! I'll check out Chronicles. Glai and I actually prefer to play cooperative games because it is fun to bounce our ideas off each other, so looking to do more of that!
It didn't really matter, but at 16:16 your green spider chip wasn't the next to last, it was two away (you had two white chips in front of it). Awesome playthrough though guys. I hope you get loads more subs in 2022!

Certainly not going to fry your brain cells like Hallertau does but a great filler, and we often find ourselves saying “just one more time”!
