@@wetwater90 ... and to say she scored and then learned all the drum tabs on a plane flight home to Glasgow during a holiday in Greece with her partner is just EPIC! Whoever she plays with, she absolutely smashes it every time... one of THE BEST session drummers around today IMHO! PROPS Cat... We love you quine! x

What can be said man these guys have just always been this fucking good ::::letting that thought sink in and thinking about how long iv been a fan, apart from making me feel like an auld fucker the shear volume of out standing sonic art from these boys is staggering and the consistency is frightening… they say the Scots engineered the world, Mogwai build sonic landscapes for the soul make me proud to be a Scotsman boys thank you for the music and the memories
They are the best and have never let us down with a bad tune. Whenever I feel like crap I put on Mogwai and feel the love that is their music. I just wish Cat and Martin could both be in the band together. That would be amazing
I went to a concert of Mogwai on the harcore will never die but you will tour. It was trance like, i don't know how to explain the effect this music had on me. Never had that at a concert. The energy they were giving off was crazy. Can't really explain it :)
Something I really love about this band is that there is no big ego dominating the limelight during performances, they all play equally crucial parts and they all appreciate the hell out of each other. It's not often said and is such a rare thing with a legendary rock band.
Saw them in Montreal that same tour, and I echo that feeling. They were simply majestic. Saw them twice in 2017, once in January 2017 for Atomic and once in December for the Every Country's Sun Tour and both time they floored me as well. I love that my live music year started and ended with Mogwai.
I saw them in Buenos Aires, I was so far away from the band but that image was so strong that I was hypnotised, yes hypnotised... looking at her beating that drum so wildly and passionately. Amazing album Every country's Sun.
I have never understood why the greatness of this band isn't universally acknowledged. So many of their songs aren't mere sons, but masterpieces. I would love to hear an orchestra cover some of them.
You typed sons instead of songs...I only point this out because the KEXP host in the video I watched right before this mistakenly did the opposite, referring to their album as Every Country's Song instead of Sun (ok, fine, a homophone)
Yes, Scotland. I said universally acclaimed. And post rock isn't a popular genre. I inadvertently typed songs because I was drunk at the time. Think I'll go fly a sign so I can get drunk today.
Recently discovered them properly, what have I been missing ?! I could heap praise but I'd only be repeating the comments already added below.Really they must be the best piano/forte masters around surely ? This version of Two Rights Make I Wrong raised goosebumps ..
Totally. I'm undecided but the bass tone is in this performance is killer!!! Other vid in the running for best isru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O8IKnEoynHw.html .
Love that moment around 56:00 where they go from volume level 1 to 11 in a split second. I remember them playing Mogwai Fear Satan at Connect Festival at Inverary. During the lull one of the uninitiated in the crowd shouted "play a new f**king chord!!" moments later all our ribs were crushed under the weight of 150 dB of pure Mogwai soundcrete.
Abraham haha. I left an office job in Scotland in 1996 and I've never had a boss since. I've been all over, made easier by the fact that I'm a shit hot busker. 😆 Check out my Trump busking videos. I now live in the Southwest of Ireland but I just got a campervan so the road still calls. Cheers.
I can't think of another band that bounces so easily between orchestral post-rock, shoegaze, and krautrock. And they seem to only be getting better with time.
See folk complaining about the crowd .It's not really that type of venue it's just like a cross between a TV and recording studio that's the reason the crowd are very quiet. All the Quay Sessions no matter the band or artist are the same just pure music no jumping around or shouting .Just a small audience with the artistes right there in touching distance.
Yes. I always find it strange that British concert goers stand quietly and appreciate the beautiful music instead of yelling, screaming, whooping and hollering all the way through it. Not to mention fist pumping. Oh dear.
@@Scotlanz but...a little shake in the neck with the rhythm...or a move with a leg...is this too much hooray for a crowd that get out of control anywhere outside the UK? Sorry...
Marc Hurkmans Cat on drums is sitting in for Martin who isn't well at moment. Alex MacKay is a touring member of the band and has replaced John Cummings. He plays keys and guitar.
