Mary Wells was a FANTASTIC singer, LOVED her voIce, and M.W. gave us NEVER ENDING “BEAUTIFUL TIMELESS MUSIC.”!!!!!!💿💿💿🎤🎤🎤
@jeanene7
My mother said she was the most down earth one at Motown. see all of them at the Greystone ballroom in Detroit. The Beatles loved her. My favorites are. Old standby. Laughing boy. You beat me to the punch. what two can easily do. Two lovers. Smokey could write his butt off.
@cinnamonspice4389
She could've achieved greatness if the push was given to her as Motown did for the Supremes and other Motown artists. The One who really loves you. Them Womack brothers Cecil & Curtis played a major part of her downs and her lows. RIP the first woman of Motown Mary Wells-Womack. She had that first husband giving her bad advice. She deserves all the accolades that were taken from her out of greed.
@lakesiabeavers4161
The music industry is dirty, always have been , always will be. My guy was my jam, the Womac story was crazy! Nicotine is definitely a addiction, may she be Resting In Peace!!
@sandramorris420
My favorite songs by M.W. are , The One Who Really Loves You, Two Lovers, You Beat Me To The Punch, and What’s Easy For Two Is So Hard For One
@michaelmitchell5098
You really can’t sue a radio station for playing a legitimate commercial record release. Politics played a part in radio stations not playing a lot of Mary’s post Motown singles since there was competition about amongst disc jockeys about who would be the first to play the latest potential “hit”. The carrot dangled was “don’t play that…if you do you won’t get this”.
@frankiehunter.
She made a terrible mistake leaving Motown at the pinnacle of her success. She may have been robbed or some money but on a new label there was no composer that could write such fantastic songs like Smokey Robinson.
@marvinwhittaker
The One Who Really Loves You, You Beat Me To The Punch, Two Lovers, Your Old Standby, What's Easy For Two Is So Hard For One, My Guy, Laughing Boy, Once Upon A Time and What's The Matter With You Baby featuring Marvin Gaye, I Don't Want To Take A Chance, You Lost The Sweetest Boy, Bye Bye Baby, Operator, What Love Has Joined Together, Dear Lover, Dig The Way I Feel are my favorites By Sweet Mary Wells, keep them coming man.

"Of Course It's "MY GUY", What You Say"...😂❤😇🎉
@waynethompson8207
I had no favorite one song. I listened and partied and enjoyed all her music. She as well as Tammi Terrell were female pioneers in their time. And as usual you are on point with another great video
@paytonbf1
Mary Wells deserved so much more than she received in her career, especially after she left Motown. My favorite song from Mary Wells is "My Guy". The music business is a cutthroat business!
@michele462
Hey WBPTV. Another great video. 👍 My guy was a hit.❤
@knockshinnoch1950
A sad ending and so young. She unfortunately sabotaged her career right at the very heigh of her success. We'll never know what might have happened and what further success she might have had if she had remained at Motown. Waiting in the wings were the Supremes who quickly overshadowed Mary's success, achieving legendary status within just a few short years. Mary recorded some great tracks when she left Motown but nothing clicked for her. A true 60s soul music pioneer who recorded one of the most beloved songs of all time.
@ronniejones6075
I grew up with Mary Wells music....should have stayed with Motown.
@user-jk8xd3dc3g
One of my very favorite singers ❤ her singing, such a rich voice! The One Who Really Loves You.
@georggswan8133
Met Mary Wells at a concert in Atlantic Cify in 1989 with Leslie Gore and Freda Payne. Beautiful ladies great. Concert. Miss her so much
@theramden6025
What Two Can Easily Do was my favorite.
@michele462
