You are not the only for whom this is a favorite. It is my Father's, and fron that he has spread it and had us spread it. I have a niece, Mary Kate, and two young men named Sean that call me Uncle. All because of this movie. And, my father and I went to Cong together in 2017.
Oh i adore this film, its one of my very favourites, and in my opinion the best that John Wayne did, and Maureen O'hara........ nothing more needs to be said.
O'Hara never became super popular in Hollywood because she wouldn't take a page out of the Jeffrey Weinstein play book so producers always down graded her to the bottom of all the lists. But John Wayne respected her so he used her whenever he could.
I have watched it a million times from my childhood in Scotland on a Sunday afternoon roast dinner torrential rain on the windows in your perfect world☺️❤️☔🌎🏴
I like how Barry Fitzgerald asks for his "parabellum" which is the proper name for a Luger Pistol, which is a P (Parabellum) 08. or a Null Acht in German.
@@2525Hudson When would you say the film is set? There are hints, but no firm date is ever given. I think that it is supposed to be in the brief period of piece between the Irish War of Independence and the Irish Civil War, but it could also be a few years either side of that. What do you think?
@glennsprigg2378 you can always hit the 3 dots , touch edit and then go back and correct your spelling or add to your post or even delete it if you want to start over. You probably know but just in case you don't thought I'd tell you. If you knew already I'm sorry .
Boo! It's barely the beginning of the fight. The whole thing is on RU-vid somewhere. The one problem with this scene is that they did not take dramatic advantage of the fact that Thornton is supposed to be professional prize fighter. John Wayne, and or his stunt double, could have learned how to assume a boxing stance and make basic boxing moves, so that we could have seen his skill gradually prevail over the Danaher's greater physicality. Instead, we just get the impression of a mere brawl, with most of the fight hidden behind the crowd of spectators.
..cannot understand it but NEVER liked John Wayne...cannot pinpoint the reason...but totally dislike him..terrible acting in my opinion, very dislikable, yuk.....always treats women SO horribly....yuk.
