Anthony Hopkins was asked after the huge success of Silence of the Lambs how it feels to be the coolest man in Hollywood, and he answered, "I don't know. You'd have to ask Clint Eastwood."
What I love about Dirty Harry is that he doesn't care about politics, about conservatism, democracy, or libertarianism. He cares about solving problems.
Oscar Gonzalez that's exactly what Clint actually thinks about politics: solving proplems, not hardcore cheering like political views were football teams. And people, especially americans, should follow the example, how about we do what's better for everyone instead of idolizing politicians like they were cult leaders?
I’m old enough to remember when the critics hated his movies, said they were too violent.Well as Clint himself said once-“I don’t make movies for the critics”.Old school badass.
I met Clint Eastwood in person at the Hollywood Studios, where my son worked. My son, his boss, and I were walking towed the diner for lunch. As we were walking, I saw Mr. Eastwood and several people with clipboards walking ahead of us. I was so excited and asked Mr.Eastwood if I could hug him. He stopped, looked at me, smiled, held open his arms, and we hugged each other. He is an amazing man and I will never forget his kindness. He’s brutally handsome and still is. ❤
You know what I say other then the bull that Cauven in Minneapolis did. Obey the law stay out of trouble and if you get caught you screwed up don’t run and fight it and you won’t die
@Dr. Toastkrunch "Dirty Harry" got liberal panties in a wad big time when it was released, in *1971*. It's become such a staple of our culture that they have pretty much given up on going after it after all these years. Instead, they seek fresh meat to take down...like "Gone With The Wind" :/
Clint Eastwood probably my all time favorite actor. He is in advanced age, but still looks in good health. Only a couple years ago he played a role in the movie called "The Mule".
@MetallicBlue1000 Way back when in 1988 my survey party chief was a gun nut and he had many guns including a 0.44 mag S&W....he told me when he had it out on the gun range he used a concrete cinder block as a target and shot from about 40 yds away.....all that was left of the block was a pile of rubble. So it would not surprise me that it could blow a head off of the body. I would not want to own one. In the wrong hands guns are too dangerous.
Clint is amazing; 91 years old and still busy with various different things. He's the ultimate jack-of-all-trades; besides being an actor/writer/director he's also a jazz musician who plays the trumpet and piano, he's also a painter, he was also the mayor of Carmel CA back in the '80s. Is there anything this man CAN'T do?
I would guess hes NOT a smoker & never had to breathe in the filth from Rust belt factories..,,The way things are going right now,,It would be good if there were100 Dirty Harrys shooting the scum that have been murdering Americans for no reason.
No... they would have Clint passing out flowers and saying, "Peace and love!" and "We can just have a talk about this." The film would last about 30 seconds!
@jeffmack57 When I was growing up watching too many fight and boxing movies like Rocky my first fist fight against a bully I thought I had to wait my turn to punch again after he punched me back and thought that was the fighting rule. lol
His time is slowly running out. It will be a heartwrenching blow to movies when he goes. I've seen all of his westerns and Dirty Harry movies. He truly is one of the actors who makes Hollywood what it USED to be...
Criminals are criminals no matter what color your skin is if you resist or fight with cops you have a very bad day. If you want your day in court surrender to the cops can't fix stupid.
That's one of my favorites.... Five bucks and an exhibition with the Shetland pony. So many people will be so offended by a line like that in a movie today. I love it. I should do more stuff like that in the movies maybe it'll thin out all the whiners. 😆😆😆😆
Nearing my eighth decade, ahhh, thru the years, there's always the question, "Do you feel lucky Punk? Well, do you?" I have to say I'm glad to have been alive to see that scene in DIRTY HARRY. The best action scene in Holly Wood history; what dialogue!
I watched Dirty Harry last week,it was so good i had to watch Magnum Force right after it,no special effects,no PC culture and no Fs given, just great movies with stories to tell and perfectly cast,a joy to watch.
There is only one and only one Clint Eastwood...there will never be another. He is one of the all time classics. The one liners are legendary...go ahead make my day.
A classic quote from the master best line of the movie VFW Very Few Whites ! That one kills me. Runner Up in this same movie .she asks Harry "" Why aren't you married , because nobody in theimind asking ""
Arguably the best macho movie legend of our time, spanning nearly 50 years...... Loved his character in nearly every cop movie he was in.... I know what you're thinking......
@@bobpress1235 at the end of the movie if you weren't counting shots you could tell that he had one in the chamber because he wanted the opportunity to waste that psycho.
Would love to know what that sound was, because Hollywood used it all the time for a gun sound effect. One thing it wasn’t was the sound of a .44 magnum.
@@sventextor1309 I like, "Are you going to pull those pistols or whistle Dixie". One of the bad guys in Outlaw Josey Wales says, "Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining" That one is great too.
"If the rest of you could shoot like them, I wouldn't care if the whole damn department was queer." And they say Harry doesn't care about equal rights. lol
I love the way Harry keeps making fun and disrespect his superiors because they are all idiots who keep pushing pencils and nothing more while Harry cleans the street out from punks and protects the innocent citizens
I am fifty-nine years old and grew up watching heroes such as Clint Eastwood on media. I knew that it was fictional, but took many things in that were very relative to everyday life......A man has to be a man, so as to protect what is right in life.......And yes, I have my Harry Callaghan .44 Magnum revolver, which I hope I never have to use in a bad situation, but I keep it close, just in case.......
I first shot a .44 Model 29 when i was only 14. Truth is it isn't a "wild horse" and will not knock you on your feet. An 8" barrel really helps cut muzzle lift and yes, they are quite accurate. It's not hard to get 2-inch groups with it once you have plenty of practice under your belt.
They should send out the Dirty Harry replicants to deal with the the thieving bankers, the polluting industrialists, the Big Pharma billionaires who kill many thousands with their 'legal' opoid drugs, the M.I.C. people who squander squillions of your present- and future taxes on overpriced weaponry, the politicians of all sizes and the rest of the maggots who create and live off social breakdown, but they won't (whoever "they" may be).
@@pinchmesh8642 Wishful thinking: he's just another "tax-cuts-for-the-rich" President: after all, why would the wealthy (and that includes Mr T.) give the 'little people' an even break?
@@None-zc5vg You have a very warped view of the world, my friend. On one hand you say the gov wastes tax dollars on overpriced weapons, on the other hand you want the rich to pay those tax dollars which will be wasted by your own admission.
If they made one called dirty Harriet with a black woman it couldn’t make it to theaters fast enough and would win 27 oscars. But the black woman is killing cops and is wearing an “I can’t breathe” shirt
Harry is a legend, I hope he lives for many years to come, he is already a legend and an artist for more powerful films, he is always my role model and will continue to be in the future
One does not simply call him "Clintwood." He is referred to by full name: Clint Eastwood. Some people historically have earned the right to where you don't just say their first name or last name you say the entire name.
Close, he was in 4 of them but they made 5 Dirty Harry Movies. He wasn't in The Dead Pool, they offered him a role but he turned it down due to a scheduling conflict.
One of my favourite lines from Magnum Force, while he's getting off the plane and the lieutenant arrives, Harry says "Lieutenant, what are you doing here?" This is a reference to the Lieutenant asking Harry the same question when he arrives at a murder scene in the beginning of the film, while the Lieutenant tells Harry to get back to the market stake-out. Just made me laugh so hard.
One day my best friend and I celebrated our made-up "Clint Eastwood Day". We ate steak, drank Blue Moon and watched 5 Eastwood movies including the first 3 of the Dirty Harry films. I'll never forget that day.
Clint had a better line in “Gran Torino”: “Get off my lawn!”. Also, in “the Outlaw Josey Wales”, when a bounty hunter says that he’s hunting Wales cuz he’s gotta make a living, Wales says ,”Dyin’ ain’t much of a livin’!”. Priceless.
"Go ahead...Make My Day...".....Clint was a hell of an actor, but let's give his screenwriters some credit as well...some of the most iconic lines EVER UTTERED by the most bad-ass characters, originated in the minds of desk-bound geeks, who could only fantasize about what it must be like to be 'the sharp end of the stick'...Here's to the Geeks!!
"A man has got to know his limitations" Great line there when car blows. Didn't Dave Mustaine use that line for lyrics in a Megadeth song?? Legend Clint Eastwood!!
Eastwood tweeted that it was one of the happiest nights of his life when Trump won the presidency. He tweeted he was proud that half of America saved the country by voting for Trump.
It’s great till you see John Wayne in “McQ” and they have a 1911 in 9mm making that same noise. “Mc Q” John Wayne trynna act like Harry Callahan and drive like Steve McQueen. Result? Magnum Force did much better at the box office and no body remembers mcq
@@Ben_not_10 I'm a huge fan of The Duke, but in all honesty, McQ would have been a much better movie if the 66 year old John Wayne wasn't cast in the title role as Detective Lieutenant Lon McHugh.
All Clints movie's have been my relax moment for a very long time. Eastwood is a Legend and always will be. Thank you for being the man you are and the man you portrayed. Would have been a pleasure to have ever met you. Happy Birthday Sir
