Thank you, Martyn, This all makes more sense now than your written instructions. Maybe it is just me, but I had trouble understanding and following them, I am ready to attempt my second one now. Cheers!!

Glad it helped. Sometimes the instructions just get in the way of understanding. We are mostly visual learners and often it's hard to photograph the exact moment we need to see.

I am trying my first twist and lock and I hope it will work. I am trying the fray check and hoping I do not ruin the bag.

I think these "twist locks" get better the more you use them. We don't use them often but they do "finish" a bag project.

Just found your channel. I noticed you did not use a stabilizer behind the flap closure. Is it not necessary? Love the idea of this being done on an embroidery machine.

We interfaced the lining of the flap instead of using a square of stabilizer under the clasp. You could do both...

I noted this is a year old. BUT would you mind telling me what sized hoop one needs to do this project? also what machine did you use? I am looking at going a bit bigger machine than what I have.. ALSO I haven't made anything like this all in the hoop, and really enjoyed the process. Doe's everything just happen step by step using the program? Hope that make sense? I am a newbe for sure. BUT learning all the time.. Hope you find my message and able to reply.. Thank you really enjoyed this tutorial.

We've made this particular sample in a 6" x 10" (160x260mm) hoop. The machine we used was a Brother VE2200 embroidery only machine, single needle domestic. This project comes in files suitable for the 5" x 7" & 8" x 8" hoops. So the sample shown is the biggest size, as it is a wallet/pocket book.

What product do you use as a bag stiffener if the batting makes it too bulky?

We have our own Essentials Bag Stiffener. Check out our website.

Where can you get the magnetic closure

Most haberdashery retailers have access to these sorts of products. If you need online, search for an local online bag supplies company or bag making supplies.

followed instructions and video and followed no problems used your stiffener and medium cut away and way too thick ended up in the bin couldn't get it under my machine foot disappointed but will try again another day

Sorry to heat this Helen. The final sew around to stitch the outer and inner joined panels is thick and the use of a zipper foot helps with this seam. Some machines may not be able to sew through all the layers alas.

Thank you but please slooowww down when you are assembling. The sewing tutorial was ok fast but I with this one have to keep stoping and restarting the video because you are flipping it over and around and I can't see what you are doing.. I wish I had the ability to slow the video down a bit. And I can't really follow with the written pattern because it is confusing different than the video.. please slow down assembly videos. thank you
@sweetpeamachineembroideryd4694
Noted! But we need to keep the video short so we don't loose people along the way. The video should run to the same sequence as the notes. Videoing a tutorial is not as easy as you might think. Thankyou for taking the time to message us.
