Edit: Who are the Sabians that the Quran is referring to in Surah 2:62? Gnostics or other Monotheists outside of Islam, Christianity and Islam?

This is amazing! If we successfully argue that Muhammad did not teach against Judaism or Christianity- and Islam was a descriptor of inclusive action (“submitting”) rather than a new religion revealed on top and in supremacy to others - we can actually shift the understanding of Islam to the benefit of humanity. I just spent 2 days on Facebook the other day arguing that in sura 37, it is Isaac and not Ishmael who is being led to sacrifice- starting from 37.37 where Muhammad confirms that he is agreeing with previous prophets - and that both “good tidings” of the forbearing son and the “good tidings” of Isaac are actually both applying to Isaac. The first good tidings are predicting the birth of Isaac, and the second are the affirmation of Abraham’s and Isaac’s righteousness. Anyway - I hope you will post more of your lecture clips online - however the university allows you. It just make some clips from home!!!!!!! Your understanding is priceless.
