Fully Automated!!!!! WOW! This will be a big add-on in the lives of people from all the shores. Lot of employment boost will come in through this. Very much excited for this project.
@@jeanbolduc5818 funny. People can get tired of doing same job for long period of time. So yes, automated systems make 100% sense and it will take over ticket counters across the world.
I’m very excited about this service opening! When is the current opening date for the south shore segment? I’m really looking forward to this reducing my current commute time soon.

Thank you for your comment! :) Here is a link to see the current commissioning schedule : rem.info/en/work-schedule Have a nice day!
CDPQ Infra should come build a REM in Toronto! Maybe along the midtown corridor. Connects to existing stations and can unlock under-utilized land for development!
@@19973x Cant believe the REM is opening before the eglinton crosstown. Word on the streets is crosstown will open in october. Metrolinx is done 99 percent construction but for contract reasons they have a few more things to do before transfering to TTC which needs 2 months to test, the handover wont happen until July which looks like a sept or oct opening date.
CDPQ invested in the Vancouver skytrain but Toronto is anti Quebec and french canadian ... so we will invest the money of the largest pension plan CDOQ in Quebec or USA....
This is most definitely NOT light rail or even a light metro - this is 100% heavy rail (subway) or even a commuter rail / S-bahn, based on the rolling stock design (which is really cool btw) & length of the line
Your announcer Caroline Dhavernas has been on several stateside (English speaking) TV shows. Having the train announcements also be in English is a great way to break the ice with a population that the government keeps alienating.
you mena english canadian burning the candian parliement in Montreal , the treatment of french canadian as second class citizens ( noir blanc d amérique ) and my father an engineer could not get paid the same salary as of an english speaking .... get educated ...you are like Trump or Poutine .... we want everybody to speak both languages but historically for the past 500 years ... french speaking has to fight for our culture and language even in our own province ... english is not at risk in North america . walk o the streets in Montreal ... if you go to Toronto i would not be able to speak french ...or in Vancouver ... who is alienating who for the past 500 years ? english speaking towards the french ...
Montreal is a french city .Toronto and Vancouver are english cities and use english only .. A s a french speaking , i could not be using french in Toronto or Vancouver . For english canadians ,they dont have to speak french in Montreal but at least be polite and respectful and learn the oher official language of Canada and its rich culture and history
Some Buses with RTL may go the way of the dodo as the route is basically connecting to 2 ream station from start to end. I.e the 45 from Terminus Centre-Ville to Terminus Panama
I have a question Does the car have 2 cars only or 4? or perhaps 6?

Hello, Thanks for reaching out! During peak hours, the REM trains will be composed of 4 cars and during off-peak hours, of 2 cars. Hope this helps! Have a nice day.
The tickets to travel on the REM are part of the fare redesign led by the ARTM. The tickets will be compatible with the OPUS card. For more information, visit the ARTM website here: www.artm.quebec/en/fare-reform/ Thank you and have a nice day.
Just REM is not going to change things for Montréal. If the government will keep scaring away the highly skilled non French speaking workforce from the Montréal and Greater Montréal, the real estate trend would go south. I already know many people leaving for the same reason. Good luck finding the people who can work, in the already short staffed Quebec.
Yeah no certain this is going to work: Montreal is not Vancouver! Much colder weather, heavy wet snow. There is a reason underground metro works all year round, weather dosen't impact it. Edmonton tried the high speed train and although it is really nice when it works, it is plagued by weather related issues. I hope it works but highly skeptical it will.
