Very little travel in the trigger,.. both ways. Solid rifles from Texas Company, *Radical Firearms!* Yes. I have one and it's never had "any" issues. Accurate. Dependable. Solid build. B5 furniture included. Mid Length system. Full Picatinny on a 15" Rail covering a 16" barrel. Great Purchase!
I've had my Radical since 8/1/2023, put over 500 rounds through it without any issues. All types of ammo including steel case Russian and some very old Chinese ball from the 80's.
It’s funny so many people talk bad about Radicals. I have a few as well as other budget and higher end rifles. For what you get especially with the B5 set. You can’t beat it. You can catch them under $400 which makes it an amazing entry into the platform while saving for a duty grade or comp rifle.
I got one of these pretty cheap for a black friday deal. To me this falls into that Milspec+ category. It’s basically a Milspec AR with the B5 furniture and a little bit nicer rail. My specific rifle came with a different rail, it has small picatinny sections at the end of it on all sides. From looking at their website it seems like I have the “MHR” rail and the one shown here is the “RPR”. I prefer mine a bit more because the cuts are less aggressive. Other than that it’s basically all milspec. I added a magpul trigger guard and a Geissele trigger, as well as a foregrip/optic/light setup. So far I’m just a hair over 800 rounds without any issues. Pretty good for the price, for the cost of most milspecs you’re basically getting the b5 furniture for free.
Really enjoy mine. Switched a few things out after the first year and 1k rounds or so (grip, saftey, charging handle, ect., mostly cosmetic) and it still runs flawlessly with decent accuracy. It also runs anything I put through it, be it old steel or hot brass. Seriously impressed for the price.
@@danceswithsquirrels7106 from what I've seen and heard, the rifle is generally going to be more accurate than the user but the hardware does have some responsibility for it. It's one of the reasons people will pay large amounts for specific parts or brands. Lower end tends to have a bit more deviation due to tolerances, materials, and other factors.
Something’s need to be changed but that’s why I like the budget because it’s a budget. I can build it up as I go and switch things out til it’s basically just like a higher end rifle without having to pay all the money out right.
I got this new and had issues with the weapon not cycling after 1-3 rounds. Had to take it in and the gunsmiths kindly fixed it for free. Since then, I only had ONE malfunction where the bullet didn't eject from the chamber... After 1,000+ rounds. Any other mistake was just my bad magazine loading =/ It's a GREAT rifle for the budget. I'd buy another one if I could.
If I have known anything about Radical firearms, it's that their budget rifles is the "Springfield Armory" of reliability and accuracy. Springfield dominates in budget pistols with some fascinating features. Radical does that for a rifle, but with an outstanding price. I got my rifle for a pretty damn good price. Only one malfunction after 1,500+ rounds.
Love ours only had one issue when one of us didn’t know as much as myself or my military grandfather did and we didn’t think about the fact she was used to a two stage trigger and was trying to adjust to the single stage trigger, which I happen to love the trigger. Gun was beautiful out of the box, trigger breaks nicely, accurate, light, easy to run, overall just a great budget rig.
Honestly and objectively speaking I have builds that i have spent thousands of dollars on and i have my little radical. besides some creature comforts and personal preference things I would put my radical toe to toe in reliability and shootability with any of my non "budget" builds any day of the week.
I bought the Socom version months ago and it was so undergassed, a bolt gun would've been faster to shoot. Had to open the port up in the barrel to get it to finally run right.
I'm lucky I didn't have the same experience as you did. I have the same rifle. I did a couple upgrades charging handle trigger blah blah blah. The rifle has been extremely reliable. A little over gas actually. Have run it very hard. So far it stood up over a three-year period. I have dealt with their customer service, for a AR pistol. Their service was not too bad would buy another product from them
Handled one once, the machining on the handguard was very rough and almost cut my hand just from holding it. Unless they've improved the fit and finish of their handguards I will not buy from them, because it would surely draw blood if held under recoil
It’s such a good value for under 500. The finish on mine is incredibly smooth everything works flawlessly. I’ve run through about 600 rounds with mine without issue.
Not true...their facility is within 10 miles of my home , been there and had a sluggish positioning in the buttstock on my RPR , they were very accommodating replacing the buttstock at no charge.. in & out in 5 minutes.. lifetime warranty...my RPR is the third Radical I have purchased and will buy more such as the 7.62...awesome rifle...
That " junk " is performing well for me...never had a problem..I have a Springfield Saint that has had several FTF's and my Radical has had zero misfeeds..
