I enjoyed that film, great story, great cast. I remember Sally from Man About the House, the bubbly blonde. Sally still has that cheeky smile and you recognise her immediately. We all get older and age, people always refer to ladies getting older but never men.
@castleanthrax1833
@castleanthrax1833 Год назад
Well Sally is a girl and has not aged well, so I can understand people commenting on it. Men on the whole, seem to age better, but we're not immune to it. Take a look at someone like Randy Meisner from the Eagles. He's a man who aged quite poorly too. It's just a fact of life. The only people who evade it, are the ones who have died. I choose to go through it.
@gilliankingston8259

I am 73. Loved this story as l can relate to it so much in my childhood experiences. My children growing up also loved it. I hope my grandchildren will feel the same. When the father got off the train and his daughter shouted " Daddy,Daddy!". Heart wrenching. It was deja Vue for me. I had exactly the same experience after being away from home and meeting my father on Heuston Station in Dublin in the fifties. I said the same, adding , " l hardly knew you in your new shoes " I was four years old. That moment in the film was my experience.

sally thomsett is a great actress & television personality. I am a huge fan of the 70's sitcom man about the house like i am with many of the fantasic british comedies from the era. It is very easy to see whilst watching many of these sitcoms from the time that most of the cast & crew got on like a house on fire. It is for this reason why they worked so very well. Im not of the same generation as when these were first aired. I was a mid 80's child who very much had a good eye for detail. it is easy to see that there was something very interesting about the 1960's & 70's especially on that with fashion & music. I suppose its because people had to make more of what they had and took much less for granted. It was only 20-30 years after the war. Peoples way of thinking was different. The 1970's i feel was the most exciting era of the century with transport becoming slightly better technology was more on the up although still basic. I definately feel that people communicated much better during the 60's & 70's they certainly had a very good time with parties and family gatherings. Getting to the point. Some people who are making rude comments on sally's apperance. What you have to remember is that sally just like many of her contemporaries at the time lived the high life of the 1970's. Sally was young, she was beautiful, sally loved sports cars, craved excitement, she had it all. I have absolutely no doubt that sally liked a good drink and most likely a smoke along with it. Absouletly everyone drank and smoked during the 70's. If you were of a certain age at the time with money you certainly went along with it all when working alongside the many stars of the day up in high places. Im ultimately sure that sally will tell you that seeing what she has experienced has very little to no regrets. Im pretty sure there are many here who have met her, can tell me what a lovely lady sally is. Her personality always shines!!!!

Age is a cruel mistress..it strips us of happiness..Sally thomasett is a lovely looking lady whose face is a reminder of the ravages of time ..not something to be ashamed about...age is a frightening thing and beautiful as well..it enriches our Life

@@TASIAawful1 Hi there 🖐️thanks for your comment on the railway children referring to actress Sally thomasett..I agree with your encouraging words on the meaning of age..I do however spend a lot of time titivating myself everyday trying to look pretty..its a must that I look my best when going out into the world...or else the public looks at me like I have the plague..it seems this world has this idea that looking pretty you are liked but if a person is ugly they get rejected...its not fair how good looks and youthful appearance plays such a great part in this world.. i want to age gracefully..
