I love Dave's comments about the mutual funds and the real estate especially the part where he said that you get a lady in there with 17 cats and the only way you get rid of the cat smell is you burn the house down. That comment had me laughing for days.

I was definitely scared of telling them but after telling the first couple clients I got over it lol. 😅 I’d been working for them since I was very young and most of them knew me since I was a young teen had a different view of them vs newer clients. I knew I had to let them go just needed a polite way to say no to them when they wined and begged. Dave’s answer was simple yet perfect. “I’m so sorry, no.”

When I had rentals I always allowed pets( with a pet deposit). Pets help with people’s mental health and loneliness. Many pets are in shelters waiting for homes. Dave cares more about money than anything else.

Any advice on taxes. If you owe a lot of tax, should you use your whole savings to pay it off at once or set up a plan with interest?

Im one who likes to give the news in person rather than a mass letter that I’m not sure gets to everyone. I was definitely scared of telling them but after telling the first couple clients I got over it lol. 😅 I’d been working for them since I was very young and most of them knew me since I was a young teen had a different view of them vs newer clients. I just needed a polite way to tell them I’m done without leaving room for discussion. Dave’s answering was so simple yet perfect “I’m so sorry, no.”

So the government pays this kid $3500 a month for rent while he goes to school. Tell me. He’s 19, he didn’t do a lifetime of service. I would love to know how that works.

If I am a non-resident alien in USA on work visa and would like to retire in my home country, should I open an IRA account and invest or do a taxable brokerage account? I am 30 and plan to stay here for another 15-20 years.

not unless you want to pay US taxes on any interest. i'd invest in property in my home country, rent it out while you are working and when you want to retire and move home you have a place to live!

I have a 8k grant over my student loans I hope they drop that 8k on my 22k so I can run thus debt to the ground . And I will make it happen Starting in Aug.

I recommended read some writing from Ray Dalio he suggests how to set up all weather portfolio and each sector of that profolio it can be done by mutual funds. it is probably the easist way to do it .
