We are also seeing the value we got from the pascal trade starting to develop. Jakobe Walter, Kelly O, Ochai, still have the 2026 pick to from Indiana. And let’s see what happens with Bruce brown. It’s shaping up to be a decent return.
I'm trying to show people that this is a 3-5 year plan because everybody is young and Boston, Philly and Milawaukee are on win now mode.. our fan base needs to be patient for our time
jalen smith looking for 16-20 million and starting center role. unless they promise to trade jak this summer, he wont come to toronto to be a back up. he wants to be a starting center to get the big bag next contract after this one.
@@leogetz-rf1kf he had like a 10 game stretch where he made some 3's and blocked a couple shots. The rest of his career he was pretty much out the league. No one is paying him that
@ben rogers you forget also, when they trade bruce brown, there is gonna be filler contracts coming back so i dont think raptors consider signing any free agents until bruce brown is moved. bobby webster interview mentioned garett temple as one of the future vets so they are gonna sign garett temple to mentor the young guys as well so that is 1 roster spot gone.
I think you missed this news from Saturday...The Chicago Bulls and forward Patrick Williams have agreed to a five-year contract worth $90 million, sources confirmed to ESPN on Saturday. The deal includes a player option for the fifth year
@@chadarsenault6384 I"m guessing he's saying that the raptors won't be able to afford Jalen Smith given that PWill's contract will be where Jalen's asking price will be around.
Garrett temple will be back for sure. Everyone loves him. I would say it’s a 99.99% chance Garrett is back. But, I think raps look for a trade for Chris bouchier. Golden state has liked him for a while. I really feel we are going to let Gary walk, or try and do some sort of sign and trade. Maybe Orlando? I don’t know. But Jalen smith is perfect. I wanted jarace Walker back from the pascal trade. But my second option was Jalen smith.
jalen smith is looking for a pay day, around 16-20 million a year and a starting center role, unless raptors promise to dump jakob poeltl this summer and give jalen smith the starting job and paying him, he isnt coming to raptors. sadiq bey wont be cheap either, he looking for his 16-20 million also. the problem is sadiq bey is like a ochai agbaji without the defence and cant shoot the 3. there is a reason why the hawks didnt resign bey, he dont contribute to winning.
Do you think J. Smith is going to get that much? I've seen his contract projected anywhere starting at $7 million. If the Raptors can get him for under $10 million (maybe a $26/ 3 yrs with a 3rd year player option?) he could compete for the starting 4 spot and play the 5 in some line ups. Sadiq Bey is a bigger risk coming off injury and is likely to not get $20 million.
We’re not signing any of these guys because we don’t have the TPE anymore or the full MLE. The team is going to be pretty much these young players and maybe 2 other signing or whatever we get from minor trade Another season of losing to get a good pick in the stacked 2025 draft is on the books. Darko hinted at this in his Serbian interview when he mentioned a 3 year plan to retool. We’re currently heading into year 2.
Well that major opportunity came and went with the wind. Great score for the Bulls. Totally reasonable contract. If you want to really get depressed, compare what the Raptors are paying Bruce Brown next year to what the Sixers just signed Oubre for over 2 years.
Not really sure where the money is coming from. Not re-signing Gary will free up some, but if they deal Bruce Brown there will likely be matching salaries coming back. This is why i would trade Brown for even a couple 2nd round picks asap.
Please don’t over sell the 3 as the volume is low and closer to 33% for career. If we can get 35% from him next 3 years great. I would like to buy out Sasha V to get more time for young player development.
Here are some players in the Raps wheel house - like you mentioned Williams and Melton, plus Goodwin, A Wiggins, Tillman, Okogie, Watford, Fonteccho for example. Think on these lines - a "superstar" is not getting signed, or a "legit" bench piece. It is going to be up and coming players with window.
i think that is correct. either way they only have about 13 million before luxury tax and still have to sign 2 rookies and two way players. i think the just sign temple and call it a summer.
The issue with Bey - he's coming off a ACL tear, and he needs touches to get those numbers. Jalen is a young Ibaka (w/o the blocks) but remember, early in Ibaka's career he had no 3 pt shot. So JS can always develop that part. Doesn't matter, he is a great defender who spaces the floor, hustles, plays with heart, plays strong and is great at the put backs off missed shots. Low maintenance. This team needs him before they need GTJ.
@@ryank794 Mmmm, let's see here - His defensive rating is 116.9, and league average is 111.3, and in comparison OG is a 116.6 - so yeah I guess you're right!
@@ryank794 BRO - we are looking at 2 different defensive stats. But since you seem to need this badly, then your stats are right, mine are wrong. Even though StatMuse doesn't have OG in the top 25 best, niether do NBA advanced stats (Defensive rating)....BUT Jalen sucks on defense cause you say so, go sign that defensive stalwart GTJ instead! Feel better? Did I fulfill your need to be right? Is this why you don't have a GF? BRO! ...your insufferable need to be right!????
This is why this organization is clueless, how many times has this franchise has outbid them self 2 sign a avg nba player... Sure, go get Jalen Smith from Indiana, than why the fk u sign Kelly Olynuk mid season, how about Khem Byrch..ect..I can name so many dumb signing.. This Management has become a punching pillow for free agents. Where all the Bums can get over payed, pathetic.
What Wiseman could/could've been? Yes. He would be perfect. James Wiseman is not who he could've been. Unless it's on a minimum, it might be worth giving up on him.
