I'll never forgive my 13 year old self for getting rid of ALL of my 12 dancing princess dolls. Literally had all the sisters, Derek, the horse and carriage, the vanity set, ugh! Curse me for being "told old" for dolls.
She’s not rare but even after all these years, I still really want the Odette with wings. I had the one without wings, but a friend had the one with and that doll is like all I’ve ever wanted since. But I can’t justify the $150 lol
i was lucky to get her through a garage sale. She is the one doll i wanted really bad as well! Sadly mine cant light up her wings anymore. I really hope you will find her for a decent price ^^
I just wish Mattel would do what MGA has been doing with Bratz and re-release at least some of the dolls Barbie movie dolls for their anniversaries. They'd make so much money if they did that Also, I just found the Brietta doll at my local flea market and bought her for 3 bucks. It was practically a steal. But the movie doll I want most is Erika, it wouldn't matter if she's out of box. I already have Anneliese and just want to have both.
I just recently bought Annalise’s barbie for around $100 so I’m trying to find Erica next but the sellers are starting to frustrate me. Like yes they’re “rare” but if you set a doll to be $500 no one’s gonna buy it and it’s just sitting in sellers basements collecting dust while there are fans that REALLY want the doll and will cherish it. UGH I JUST WANT THE DOLL FOR MY INNER CHILD😭😭
UPDATE: I managed to grab Erika but for a big chunk out of my wallet 😅 not $500 but def around $200. But I’m incredibly happy to have her and Annalise reunited!

As a young girl when these dolls came out I can 100% confirm that the first doll from Mariposa and Alexa from Diamond castle were near impossible to find in stores. I know because I wanted them both so badly! Specifically Alexa I remember my mom and I looking high and low for and we just couldn’t find her so I had to settle for the blonde one. I was so excited to get Alexa because I have brunette hair and she had brunette hair and she would’ve been my first Barbie with brown hair but alas :’( IDK if they ever made a Melody (?) doll from that movie either but my mom and I also hunted for her and she was even on my Christmas wishlist! I never got her tho and idk if she even exists so :/
I had a Melody Doll! She was so pretty! My sister and I were obsessed with Diamond Castle and made our parents and grandparents look everywhere for the dolls.
My sister actually got the Melody doll in a giveaway on the German Barbie website 😂 I also vaguely remember that Alexa was in all the stores here? Right next to the Lianas. But I might remember things wrong. I only ever had a Liana.
I remember when I was little my grandmother gifted me the 2008 collector's Christmas barbie with the white dress. I used to try to take her out of her box until I realized that it was a "special" doll and tried to keep her in pristine condition. I still haven't forgiven my parents for giving her away because I loved that doll with my life and I haven't found her since. I'm afraid to think they threw it away 😔
When I was little my sister and I loved princess and the pauper. My sister got the annelise doll and I wanted the Erika one so bad. When it was my birthday the Erika doll was nowhere to be found in stores so I never got her. When I turned 18 my sister found an Erika doll online and got it for me. I was so happy
Ahhh nostalgia. I still have my Anneliese and Erica dolls. Sadly they're not in very great condition (a lot of my Barbies aren't 😬). I always wanted the 4 musketeer dolls but my parents stopped buying me Barbies as gifts around the time they came out (2011 or 12 I think?). Same with the 12 dancing princesses. That's one of my favorites and I wanted all 12 sisters, or at least the Genevieve doll but I only ever got the twins.😅
If you wanted (and were willing to spend the money), there are people who repaint or restore dolls that you could probably send them to. I want restore mine now that I have the supplies to do so.
Everything for Barbie Diaries is SO impossibly rare! The fashion pack set with Barbie's butterfly suit has been a holy grail for me for AGES but even when it pops up in a blue moon you're looking at close to $200 for it. And that's to say NOTHING of the two pillow stored playsets - both are shaped like pillows; one is the backstage/performance area and one is Barbie's bedroom which is my ULTIMATE grail. I just have had to make peace with never having anything from this movie, alas! 😫
I found used Alexa and Liana dolls on Ebay for really cheap, the only problem was that no matter how often the batteries were changed or if I pressed their hands both exactly at the same time, their singing would NEVER be in sync. Lol.
I have all four of the muskateers in pretty good condition as my mom had the foresight to keep them away from me for most of the time XD. But even when they were on shelves we had a hard time finding Renee and Aramina, I think we drove to five different Targets to find the LAST ONES on the shelf because I was insistent on having a full set

But my brother sold all of my barbies when I was like 10 years old without asking me (many of which would be worth SO MUCH now) so I no longer have them unfortunately ):
Elina changing her tail for wings has been a childhood dream of mine! Since... Well, my childhood! She was very expensive in my country and my dad couldn't afford it, he was very supportive of me loving Barbie and he would purchase many Barbie items for me :) He would watch the movies with me! He liked Princess & the Pauper 🥰
I specifically remember never seeing Renee in stores when I was little. Walmart had full shelves of Corinne, Viveca, and Aramina, but I never saw Renee 😢 I've seen her pop up on eBay a few times, but I've never had the money for a Renee when she happens to show up.
Its funny coz our local(outdated) toy store at a mall still has the blue and green musketeer dolls for estimately 25$😆 its already been years and they're still on the shelves there. it's sad that there are not a lot of barbie collectors in the philippines
The Elina Mermaida doll is my absolute favourite doll. Those wings are just too pretty, I totally understand why she is such a sought after doll even today. I remember playing hours and hours with her and throwing her around. I still have her and will never give her away, even though her wings have broken off because of what I did to her..

I remember having that Elina doll as a kid, though it was likely bought second hand since I never realised there was even supposed to be a mermaid tail included. It was still a pretty doll regardless. In general I rarely had new ones or any from specific movies. Once got the fashion fairytale one for my birthday and gosh I treasured that thing lol
i had no idea the princess and the pauper erica doll was so rare. i recently found one in pretty damn good condition at a yardsale and got her, a 97 christmas barbie, the 1999 milenium princess barbie and a few others in really good condition ( not pristine but really nice considering it was from a yardsale) for like 10 bucks.
i wouldn’t consider her rare, because both anneliese and erika were mass produced and you can find them at thrift stores, garage sales, secondhand websites, antique stores, etc. erika is just more expensive and sought after and scalpers are taking advantage of the fact PATP is a very popular and loved movie amongst barbie fans and collectors
This just makes me want to continue with my idea of finding the dolls that have been well-loved and then restoring them with my doll face-up Powers. They wouldn’t be collector’s kind of value, but having dolls I liked/wanted from my childhood would be nice.
oh wow seeing the comments.. we all have something in common: giving/passing down our precious barbie dolls for the sake of 'growing up'.. i have the first 9 film version dolls since the nutcracker until the fairytopia.. but gave away the nutcracker and rapunzel, idk where my odette is and passed down the blue fairytopia. The rest i still have them pristine inside the original box. my most fav is odette bc if her dress but instead i lost her.. and i found out now they are collector's item it's just crazy😭
I collected my dolls even at a young age, usually only doing "set ups" rather than playing with them. My father got rid of all my dolls behind my back and the part of my collection that I'm still heart broken over is my 2002 Midge pregnant doll, I had everything from that collection and its basically impossible to find here in Canada.
Omg I had that doll! And then years later I found out it was apparently "controversial" because how dare you give children a pregnant doll lmao Luckily, my parents weren't pearl clutchers. They taught me all that stuff really young, and the end result is that I broke my family's long standing tradition of teen pregnancy, because I actually knew how to avoid it.
10:27 brought back such a huge wave of memories that I didn't even remember having, so much that I had to pause the video for a minute because I cannot believe that I forgot about owning that doll until just now. I was not very nice to her and I remember taking her to the pool and absolutely trashing her wings, but wow, that's crazy.
I have the mermaidia Elina doll without her skirt and tail and wings unfortunately. But since I got her at a garage sale for a couple dollars when I was a child I'm fine with it. I also have brietta as a pegasus with her wings. I don't know how rare she is because I can't even find her listed anywhere

I had the Barbie Mermadia when I was a kid! She was stunning, but unfortunately I didn't took much care of her (probably because my parents gave me when I was 4-), so in the end Elina was donated :') She was my 2nd Barbie tho so it was a very important doll to me

i knew the wedding set would be #1! whats crazy to me is that i had this set as a kid and i treated them just like all my other dolls. i have vivid memories of doing all kinds of crazy, wacky things with anneliese and julian and giving them insane story lines, throwing them around, etc. and now they are fancy collectors items LOL it blows my mind! i have no regrets of playing with them, but its just weird for me to view them as so expensive

as a kid my parents got me new barbie dolls and their plush animals everytime a new movie released. luckily they never threw them ayway, so now I get to enjoy them again over 13 years later
For the fact i always buyed the dolls with the dark hair when i was a child. but i did not see myself as blond. While my other friends bought the original blond Barbie doll. I even have the old Raquell who looked gorgeous with her long eyelashes

Then there's Lumina and Sunburst from Fairytopia Magic of the Rainbow, I don't know why but I never got like the Main Characters (Barbie) 🥲 but I think I had Odette but without her wings I really wanted Brietta n Annika as a kid and also Erika, but yeah too expensive for my parents 😅
I remember the Barbie Diaries release was close to my birthday, so I ended up getting two identical Barbies, one of which I ended up exchanging for a Raquelle at the toy store. Had no idea they were rare!

I think one of the reasons to rayna and rayla dolls been kinda hard to find is the fact most part of them maybe went to the trash can. I saw some people having a issues with this dolls, their neck are really fragile. I had a Rayna for christmas when I was younger, I played with her for like....2 hours, let her on my desk, went to bed and when I woke up, her neck was broken. Everytime I find a secondhand one to sell, they are with theyr head glued at the neck.
My sister had Erika and we used to get so annoyed when we accidentally hit the sing button…. So much so that we’d smack her against the ground to get her to shut up 😭

My most memorable birthday was when my brother bought me the Barbie Diaries dolls and movie. I wore out the guitar. Growing up I had at least two bins of Barbie’s, two small houses, the blue bug, and the pink van. Due to my mom working for American girl I also had some of the AG dolls. Due to “growing up” I got rid of everything. Now with my adult money I recollected the AG dolls, but I’m waiting until I have kids to look into Barbies. I still have Barbie Diaries and Princess & the Pauper on DVD

Complete Mermaidia doll is quite difficult to find here in our country. She gets expensive especially when she has her tail, same as to Erika. If she still has her flower crown you can bought her for around $60 here in our country. For me the rarest barbie movie doll who was very indemand,very expensive, and hard to find in my country is the Rainbow lights Elina and Brietta magic of the pegasus human form. You can bought them without box for $100 above which is very expensive for us collectors. Edit: I strongly agree that all of this dolls were quite rare, and the price were unjustified expensive nowadays. But we all hope that we could find all these dolls and complete them as we wanted. All we need to do is just to wait for a chance that we will find them cheaper. Patience is a must for doll collecting❤️
My daughter had about 90% of these dolls growing up. She was born in 2002, so it was the glory days of these Barbie's and the movies. In fact she's 20 and still is hanging onto the DVDs. She had the Princess and the Pauper castle, had all the playsets and dolls from Princess & the Pauper, 12 Dancing Princesses, Island Princess, some Rapunzel. Even has ornaments of all those Barbie's she hangs on the xmas tree every year. Erika also came with a Swing andTea Party set, only saw that at KB Toys back in the day. Same with a lot of the Happy Family dolls, the dollhouse we got at Toysrus. Blair was hard to find back then even, in fact a lot of the individual 12 Dancing princess dolls that were not in a 3 or 2 pack were. Such a great video. Thanks.

i feel so dump that i had the 3 barbie dolls from fairytopia movies when i was younger but i wasn’t careful, so they kinda got ugly and dirty. i really wish i could go back in time and not donate any of them
I got that Brietta doll for Christmas one year and I remember valuing her very highly because she wasn't featured in the Sears Wishbook with the other Pegasus dolls. She's still one of my favourite Barbies ever.
I had Tori, Erika (the more budget one) and Corinne, but I vividly remember wanting them all. There was this clothes shop somewhere that had stairs down to a room full of barbie dolls, It was my favorite place. Although I could only afford one sometimes, I just loved to go there and look at them. I loved the feeling of unboxing a new barbie. I think I wanted all the musketeers the most, but only got Corinne (thankfully). About Erika, I really wanted Anneliese, but it was the first brown haired doll that I remember owning. I also had a Bride Barbie and this other one with a fancy purple mermaid dress and a white fur thing. And I somehow remember having Annika's dress and that fur thing as well at one point in my life, but it vanished quickly as it came. The doll on the other hand, never had.
I remember seeing the Barbie Musketeers dolls on the shelf when I was a kid and really wanting Aramina because I thought she was the prettiest. I went for LPS instead of Barbies for Christmas/Birthday gifts, but as an adult I've compiled a list of dolls I'd love to get. Hopefully I can get an Aramina one day. Also omg I have Brietta's dress! My neighbors gave me some of their old Barbies, so they might've given me her! But she was in rough condition, so eventually I gave her away, but I still have her dress albeit it's super torn. Very pretty, though, I love the shine!
I had the Dandelion and the Erica dolls when I was a kid and I'm really sad because they were both completely demolished from all the years of play. I am still glad I have those memories of playing with them though.
I purchased Annalise, Erika, and Dominic New In Box before the 2020 shut down and I was so happy I purchased them when I did. I also bought the Princess and the Pauper castle second hand and it was in good condition. It was missing the bell tower and the furniture. Sadly, I ended up donating the castle before I moved because I had no room to pack it.
It’s so funny because the Mermaidia Elina is literally the easiest and cheapest doll to get here in Austria! Literally everyone had her and she sells out of box but in good condition for like 20 bucks! Briers us extremely hard to get and expensive but I was lucky enough to get her out if box for 70!!
Can’t believe I destroyed my Erika Barrie doll because I used to draw on them pretending it was makeup and I cut their hair. And when I got really angry one day I ripped her head off

I had the Anneliese doll when i was a kid and today all i have left of it is the dress with most of the top pink part being all messy and broken with the veil skirt has holes in it, a broken crown, a single shoe, the plastic cat and a brush with two of the spikes missing. The second we go to my aunt's place i am going to FIND IT and hopefully i can find a way to save the dress because right now the sleeves are barely sleeves...

I have Dandeliion from Fairytopia, and I hope you can get her soon.. She is very pretty. I also have all the other Fairytopia fairies. It was definitely my favorite Barbie movie as a kid (along with Swan Lake and Princess and the Pauper). I also have that mermaid Elina doll, but I don't like the tail on her as much as the other Barbie mermaid dolls I had as a kid. The only Barbie movie doll I need is Annika.
