I recently missed out on a working Williams NARC arcade game for $200, by mere minutes. That stung a bit, but this deal kinda helped make up for it. It’s always a cause for celebration when you score a working Golden Age classic for $100, but this one was particularly special.

Wow, what an incredible find! A working Atari Asteroids Cabaret for just $100 is a steal, and the fact that it's one of the rarest versions makes it even more exciting. Asteroids was one of my favorite games growing up in the 80s. I spent countless hours playing this game both in the arcades and on the Atari 2600. That's cool this game is for the most part in working order. These styles of cabs were rare even in the 80's, it wasn't something I saw much during the days of the classic arcades. I always found it easier to play games like this on a home console, vs. the arcade ports where you used buttons instead of a joystick for directional movement.

Awesome! The scratch pen does get used up over time a bit like an eraser, so I’ve gotten into the habit of ordering two at a time to make sure I never run out! 😅

Nice score! Try to get the multigame add on. It adds Asteroids Deluxe and Lunar Lander plus saves high scores. I've owned 3 Asteroids Deluxe cabarets but no Asteroids. As you mentioned, a tip for finding them for sale is to use alternate spelling. The one i have found most often used is Astroids. Sounds like a painful condition, not a video game;)

Looks like a really nice looking game. Awesome fine for 100 bucks. Congratulations on that and also I have never seen a doorbell installed on the front of the cabinet. I’ve seen House light switches. Toggle switches from a car a little push button and just to wire hanging out in touch together but never a doorbell at the first I might have the parts to fix that coin door if you don’t have then

It’s technically my third cabaret! I’ve had a Tempest cabaret for years, and my Class of 1981 is supposedly a “cabaret” home edition. I’d love to get a few more cabarets, particularly Dig Dug, Pac-Man, Omega Race, and Bubbles. Also, do Atari Ireland cabinets count as cabarets?? 😏

Here I thought I got a killer deal on my broken Asteroids upright. $100 for a working cabaret is crazy, congrats. I think the fading could be a few things. G05s are notorious for cold solder joints at header pins, which would align with your banging fixing it ;) May also be the HV diode or caps. Good luck.
