what a kick in the balls. i think if they did end up making a plastic wireless viper mini it wouldve ended up being like 52-53 grams max and then people wouldve gotten even more pissed that the 300$ SE was only 49g, still cant believe they dissolved all the goodwill they built up in the past year lol
All the goodwill? People in niche communities think they are a bigger part of the whole than they really are. The Viper mini wasn't even a best seller for them.
@@vaudou_ bro they literally said they took that long to make it worthwhile to mousereview community, then proceed to jebait everyone and now razer-right is taking all the shit from the community lmao
I like how they also could have made a Cobra wired with DAV3 internals, and a lot of people would have been satisfied with that that were expecting a Viper v2 Pro style Viper Mini. But they were like, nah. Tbf, the Cobra wired is not terrible, since it is at least cheap and will be nice when it eventually sells below MSRP. I hear it doesn't track well on glass and/or at higher DPIs. But I think for most people under 2k DPI on cloth pads it should be okay, if the LOD is not an issue.
the wired is a massive L They very easily couldve gone with the dav3 8k internals, or even cheaped out with the older 3399 sensor at 4k/8k which they can sell for $40 as well. There is absolutely no argument for the wireless, its a joke and they proved so with their other mice already
razer cobra pro boardzy edition: 55g no rgb no charging dock no glossy plastic accents no rubber side grips dav3 faker edition coating zebra pattern done
This actually became my main mouse shockingly. Without the puck it weighs 75g, but it feels way lighter than that because of the range of motion you have and the glide on the skates shockingly. I've been using lighter mice and don't mind the extra weight for the shape and balance. As long as the sensor is good, and the clicks feel nice then its personal preference, but I far prefer this mouse for fingertip/claw hybrid over the GPX & GPX2, DAV3, ViperV3 etc. When I bought it the 8khz dongle was sold out for awhile which was not shocking, but I'm thankful for it now because for the same price I can get the wireless charger dock, now with 8khz added as a bonus. Also I play csgo competitively, warzone/thefinals casually, aimlabs.
On its own, this mouse wouldn't cause a stir. Its really the fact that we were lead on to believe that after the RVMSE there would be a proper follow up in the summer. It was no mistake that whenever the community chimed in that $280 for the RVMSE was missing the mark and not what people were asking for, that the razer rep made no clear and detailed statements on what that follow up would be. Only intentionally leaving out details that would clearly sour interactions immediately if people knew that they, in fact, weren't getting the rvm just wireless they wanted and that their only option WAS the $280 mouse. I can't say Im surprised that razer played with peoples expectations on this, esp since dumbasses bought the RVMSE. After several years of interaction with the communality, building goodwill and seemingly taking enthusiast feedback seriously, they instantly turn off the buddy buddy act and go right to cold business responses. I have no stake in the viper mini, can't use the shape. But I am disappointed to see razer drop the ball on this as it was such a nice change of pace seeing them build themselves to be a top recommendation.
Yeah I’d say this release could mark the end of Razer’s comeback. They really upped their game the past few years and put themselves right back amongst the top of the gaming peripheral chain, but this… this is 2010’s Razer all over again, and I get the feeling the roller coaster is now headed down.
@@mikerzisu9508Im sure a lot of people that could afford it or like collecting(myself included) still aren't wasting money on it. at least some people that really really love that shape and won't ever need a different mouse get something out of it I guess
I’d definitely buy the Boardzy edition! I already want that shape but why and how did they screw up the specs so hard!! Can’t trust em anymore, boardzy please save the gamers!!
This release is not meant for competitive gaming hence why the weight is identical to the RVU. They just wanted a casually mini wireless because they already have the V2 pro for competitive people
I like the concept of having two DPI buttons. Some of us still like them! It took me a long time to give up my G9x and then move away from a Corsair Ironclaw.
I was a hater at first but I slapped the pulsar supergrip tape over the sides and I'm actually enjoying the extra weight. I didn't realize how much stability I was missing out on in valorant since i've been using sub 50g mice for a while now. I turned the rgb off and connected it to one of my 4k dongles. That being said, most people probably won't even consider buying this mouse and I can't blame them.
I would certainly buy the board y edition. I don’t wanna pay for a mouse that should’ve been released in 2019 for $130 when there are much better options available.
if youre rockin kovaaks and are a serious gamer, i feel like those people aren’t going to be looking at this mouse at all. this mouse might be good for work desk or a laptop. dont need high performance, its got bluetooth to reduce wires and dongles, looks great feels great. for gaming definitely sticking with my v2 pro until razer figures out that everyone is begging for a viper mini wireless…. taking way too long
I'm amazed Razer made this mouse. They must have found a market for this mouse because they will do what makes them money. Still... who would buy this? It won't be me.
So I asked you yesterday on stream about which one I should go for like cobra wired or v3 wired but yesterday I completely forgot about viper 8khz which rn is literally at same price as of cobra wired rn (in India) so which one? 🙂
you'll feel literally no difference between 1kHz and 8kHz BUT if they're the same price you should decide between DAV3 and Viper 8kHz based on which shape you like the most
i got a cobra wired as a "viper 8k V2" to replace my viper 8khz cuz the cobra has a top dpi button for on the fly profile switch updated switches and hopefully far better QC as the viper 8k has a lot of reliability and QC problems and I'm hoping the cobra received some of the better build quality of the DAV3 and Vp2pro mice. i couldn't care for 8khz polling rate and the 8.5k dpi sensor is plenty enough
dont care abt mouse weight really i want a symmetrical performance mouse w the best dpi and refresh, WITHOUT a need for Synapse bc it sucks; just put some buttons to toggle settings on the bottom or smth idc. lights are nice but im not looking at my mouse while using it, its only good for grabbing it in the dark rly. i had the rainbow mice but i end up leaving them on all white. just make a better, cheaper viper w wireless 8k dongle in the box for $100
200$ with the dongle is reasonable but 100$ is really not feasible my guy. You are requesting a mouse with the best dpi which I would presume is sensor and refresh which I think you mean features? With an included 4/8khz dongle from a big brand for 100$? The hyperpolling 4khz dongle is already 30$ on its own and the 8khz version would probably be even more expensive. 100$ for that package is kinda delusional. I could see 200$ whole bundle though, maybe 150$ if it’s from a smaller brand or razer remove their own brand tax.
The Bluetooth is the only reason I'm not returning mine. I love the RVM shape, and have all the clones, but none of the clones have BT. Both my Macbook Pro and my Dell don't have USB A ports, and I don't carry a dock with me, so Bluetooth is my best option. This mouse will go in my work bag and live there for quite some time.
All I want is a mouse that's at least 4000hz, has 1 or 2 top DPI buttons, 2 side buttons, and is under 60g. But nothing like that exists other than the Atompalm Hydrogen 2 which isn't shipping until next month and that's just NA, I'm in Australia so I won't see it until next year most likely. I don't care if it's wired or wireless, or if it has holes in the palm. Razer definitely isn't listening to the community at all, I'm not sure who else wants what I want here, but all I know is Razer won't ever make another mouse I want, the Viper Mini Signature Edition is pretty much right but it's likely too small, and far too expensive.
can't forget mentioning different size of hands and gripstyle. the cobra pro is awsome for claw/fingertip. And i have gone through so many mice trying to find my pref mouse and i take this one over any finalmouse and zowie... just to add to it. i have hated razer fro as long as i can remember due to their fat mice..
Just get a G-Wolves HTX Ace 1k version for better battery life. The HTX is amazing! I use fingertip grip and like smaller mice and this one didn’t disappoint. It feels great in the hand and is really light. Honeycomb shell is 36 grams and solid shell is 39 grams. It took me a couple weeks to get used to how light the mouse is but it’s so fun to use. My viper mini is now shelved permanently and I’m not looking back.
ever thought about that there are people who actually like those rubber sides and do no like superlight mices? They have so many sub 65g variants on the market, obviously theyll also bring something thats appeealing to people who prefer a heavier mice with rubber coating.
they said their excuse for creating this is because best buy displays don't care about non rgb mice. so they're apparently super dependent on best buy to sell mice i guess.. best buy the store shutting down 30 locations this year alone. 😬
Did you connect the 4000hz polling to the wireless charging dock? I been struggling connecting to it, but I also have the Basilisk V3 pro and that's using 4000hz polling
First comment on this channel in years and id be down with boardzy edition. Like is actually buy it. You point at all the things id need in a long awaited VMU
"if you want a viper mini for esports made by razer you have to buy our stupidly overpriced, stupidly engineered $300 finalmouse esque limited edition cash grab, our c-suite was getting pissed off at finalmouse so we had to do a shit job at copying their strategy, meanwhile, ironic as it is, finalmouse announce they aren't using that strategy anymore." - Razer
Hot take but the razer cobra rebrand is actually good. I notice when razer reiterates their skus ut normally goes this way. They release a mouse that is stacked full of features then slowly remove them in later iterations for the performance oriented gamers. I recently bought the pro to check it out. It's 77 grams, has a nifty little charging dock accessory, led for the people who care about that, some nice rubber grips like the 8k, the plastic is actually nice unlike the viper v2, the skates look very high quality and look like 100% Virgin ptfe. All for much less than what the v2 pro launched for. The scroll wheel is tensioned a bit loose which is a preference thing. Clicks feel amazing highly spammable yet tactile. For a 120$ wireless mouse with good battery life, best sensor on the market, really good click and motion latency and 4k polling compatibility people seem to be hating hard lol.
razer shocked me with a viper mini wireless.. which is the se.. not proud of it bc if the price.. also bruh.. all they have to do is to add wireless to the razer viper mini. it would be great in the market and it would be a win win
Hey, some of us still like a little heavier mice with DPI on the top, and its still very useful for a lot of players. I can't change DPI on the fly or in game (like for what I play) with the DPI button on the bottom when that would be your only option. So this is fine for me, but feel those of us that like DPI buttons are starting to get left out of the newest AAA mice releases so DPI mice are always second tier.
Dude it's been 10 months and I only now hear there was something close to a viper mini wireless. Still, rubber sides, slightly bigger & heavier? Ouch. Small hand club can't get a win. Would try if it was cheaper at least even with the downsides, but after buying Hati S Ace Wireless I'm kinda donezo with compromises since I was not fully satisfied with it.
Yo razer reps, I'd buy the boardzy edition. Signed a longtime boardzy sub who has rvmse, vv2p, dav3, and the old viper mini with a paracord. This is only my razer mice, not others in my collection. I also had the og viper ultimate and the basilisk from that same year as well, sold both.
because oof the features like rgb, rubber grips, dock compatibility and just not going for light weights. Which is why they need to make the boardzy edition
I can see them coming out with a cobra v2 pro and a cobra 8k wired as an upgrade in like a year but I don't know why they wouldn't just start with them
i got a cobra wired as a "viper 8k V2" to replace my viper 8khz cuz the cobra has a top dpi button for on the fly profile switching, updated optical switches and hopefully far better QC as the viper 8k has a lot of reliability and QC problems and I'm hoping the cobra received some of the better build quality of the v3 switch mice ( DAV3 and Vp2pro). i couldn't care for 8khz polling rate and the 8.5k dpi sensor is plenty enough
@@paulmartinez34 I would too but companies often see small mice or wired mice as "budget" even though people still want high end premium wired and/or small mice
Well what about the Logitech g pro hero wired? It's basically a g203 but with high end sensor and still a budget mouse, np-01s is a small mouse but it has a 3389 sensor
@@TheACTIONZI'm wondering what is the best mouse out there that could replace my viper mini wired. I have fingertip grip, in the lamzu mini boardzy says that for fingertip, the xm1 mini is better, but, which one is better, the F1, xm1 mini, or lamzu mini, for me replacing the viper mini.
i used the viper ultimate for a while and i actually like the cobra pro even tho ive heard bad things about it i feel like this is a good mouse especially with the way i hold it i kinda overgrip a lot of mice like the viper v2 pro which i didnt like that much because it wasnt comfortable but the cobra pro is a good mouse for me =)
I just don't understand why razer would do this. It honestly just feels like they designed this 2 years ago and just decided to release it now. Its just honestly so disappointing as they had such a great opportunity to come out with something great, but this mouse makes no sense considering u can spend $30 less and get a 4k sub 50g mouse from lamzu.
Someone at Razer needs to be fired. We asked for one thing. Just a just a wireless v2 viper mini which I would have gladly paid 150 for. Instead they gave us 3 mice no one asked for.
cobra more like cope-bruh. I guess essentially razer still "kinda failed" to deliver wireless viper mini, aside from the SE are expensive as hell, we're expecting a budget wireless mouse with viper mini shape, a $130 wireless mouse that might as well just get the viper v2
I love the rubbery grips, mine wore out a couple weeks ago and it feels naked without them now and not as much fine control. Just trying track down where I left that extra pack. lol. So, is there a Deathadder mini anymore?
