It's definitely about time there was a brushless edition. It doesn't need to be ridiculously fast but it could handle a little bit more speed I think. I guess one issue would be that their brushless systems are usually sensorless which wouldn't suit the slow off roading aspect as well as the 775 Titan. The low gear ratio helps, I've seen them work quite well with sensorless in the low gear but still tend to cog a bit if you try to crawl. Might need a sensored system to do it justice or at least an ESC that has very good startup behaviour with sensorless motors like some of the Castle speed controllers that work miracles. If they can add brushless power, up the speed a little but keep it within sensible limits for the chassis and not sacrifice low RPM crawling then I would be all for it. It needs to be done right.
That car is the true representation of the old saying, jack of all trades master of none It is an awesome rc to get in to the hobby and to find what route/s you wanna take
Still love mine. Reminds me of age. 20s up and running. then it skips 30s, 40,s. Returns in the 50,s as a steady walk in the park, with a bit of vitamin intake, if you want a bit of speed. In your 60,s, it is like an old dog. It will never let you down. Keep safe all in the Tomley household.
Man is was just watching Jang review of this truck from 2013. Made me want one. Now you're driving. Maybe it is a sign I should finally get one. Great video
I have a “10th scale” (more like 5th scale in actual size) traxxas summit that i bought used, its probably over a decade old and has an old brushless diablo system in it. Still works great with some minor parts replaced and a strong single steering servo. I absolutely agree, the summit is a weird RC car that has no specific purpose other than having fun on rough terrain. Its too big and slow for the track (even brushless with 4s) and not too great for extreme crawling, so its kind of an in between truck. I just love plowing through rough trails and even just going through fields and hills with it since its so tall, it basically goes over anything. Definitely a unique RC car to own, people always ask me about it when i bring it to the track.
I used to have two of these, the best, toughest, go everywhere rc monsters that you could ever own. I miss them 😪. Fantastic video mate, made my day. Greetings from Colombia 💥💫👍👍👍
Being an owner of a Traxxas Summit for four years now, it still amazes me what it can crawl over. I've used mine once in the last year as I've been messing with some of my other 12 RCs. I need to pull mine apart and check bearings and change the fluid in the diffs. My bearings had better days. Most of them are looking Rusty and I'm guessing probably 50% of them need changed at this point. Last outing, I ran it in mud and water and didn't clean it and dry it up when I was done. I'm usually pretty good with keeping up on cleaning the vital parts, but last time I used it it was to cold to wash outside like I typically do. I had enough bearings to completely redo the entire RC so I'm not really concerned all that much.
I purchased my first crawler after watching your vid on the ftx ravine so got one , this was 5 weeks ago and now I have 5 crawlers inc my new axiel that’s arrived today !! Such an addictive thing crawling 👍🏻
The Traxxas Summit is Awesome !!! And thank you so much for not playing Music !!! A lot of people think that you want to be in the club when watching RC Videos I do not get it LOL !!!!!!!😁😁😁
Great truck the summit love the video brings back memories of mine , the best designed suspension system in the RC world mega travel , time to Go brushless Phil ,you know it needs it lol
i had some money from a tax return, was thinking about buying an xmax. But then i saw an used Summit for a good price so i decided to try it instead as its more multipurpose. And i do not regret my decision! HAd to replace driveshafts all around as the dry rotten rubber got inbetween splines and one pulled itself apart at the pin, and front diff needed repairing as it was shot. Ah the joys of secondhand rc cars. Other than that, lovely thing.
Ok I think I found the crawler, trail, basher for me. I hate to spend the money on a crawler, not sure if crawling and trails is for me, but this looks like a ton of fun!
It crawls! It bashes! Just not very well at ether! It’s like the link between Toy & Hobby grades IMO. Not saying it’s bad. It’s just not awesome though. The kids will love it! 👍 Still a great video dude! 👌
@@gasolinediesel972 Sorry dude! No intention to insult anyone. All I said was my opinion, & you are fully entitled to yours. I agree with you the Idea of an all in one RC is awesome! That is all I’m going to say about that though.
@@rcwreck-creation It's all good. I'm not insulted. I just feel that the only real way to describe this thing is awesome. That's all it really is. It doesn't really have a purpose. It just exists to be awesome.
The only thing is it suffers that same suspension "over flex" durability problem. You'd never know it unless you geared it like an erevo or hit a 10 foot drop. It used to be very popular, but then the erevo took over as one of the most well known "look" for an rc car in the world.
Definitely like this but it needs narrower tyres to look more scale. And blacked out wheels at the same time but it looks pretty effective at what it does, and it does everything except go mental speeds. Yet fast enough. I might have to get one. This is becoming a habit. Grrrrrrrrrr ;-)
I was going to get the summit but the place i was getting it from had two colours; orange ( my least favourite ) and purple ( my favourite) the orange was in stock but the purple wasn’t
I never got one of them iv thought about it but never have. I got a few good RC cars from arrma and team associated and Traxxas mostly brushless like the Kraton 6s and Xmaxx and the big rock and granite ect. But if I was to get this truck I'd deff be throwing a castle system in it or a reedy system. I may get one and go for a world record with it like the world's fast Traxxas summit or something lol
Lol right, everything looks like a crawler when it goes slow. Maybe it’s just The sound of the torque in the motor. Not sure what the price of these are.
O please don't make me laugh ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. 1,who remembers the advert of ford angler with wide wheels. 2,most motorists there's a flooded road!!! Oh i can't get my tyres WET. twat your in a car!!!. Sorry folks but it is a hobby.
