Sweetpeaaaaa you’ve been donating me around in my phone all day! AND I LOVE IT!! 🥰 yes been seeing Sweetpea on my feed quite a lot since yesterday or day before and I’m grateful. She’s a precious angel! ❤❤❤
Cool thing? It's actually instinctive. Animals mainly read tones (especially at first) and generally view low tones as threatening, like a growl, bark, or snarl.
Any tradesman who reacts so wonderfully & calmly to an animal who just wants to check them out deserves a shout out. I always ask them for business cards & post them in places to try & help.
A plumber once caught my pit lab mix when he came in the door. Chuck wouldnt hurt a fly, but the plumber didnt know that and reacted by just putting his arms out to hold him. Accepted the kisses and apologized to ME for my dog jumping on him. Will never forget that. I hope he liked the well deserved tip.
@@cdogthehedgehog6923 That says almost more about him then how he works! People may laugh but I trust my furbaby's instincts & trust factor over any humans instincts any day!
Sweetpeas a little femme fatale & she knew the time to turn her feminine charm on, to an unsuspecting washing machine repair man 😂 he instantly fell 4 her sweet adorable ways x❤x😂x
Yeah I don’t think that’s any blouse! She’s been ripping her feathers out, she may be in rehabilitation but you can see the damage that’s been done to her feathers.
@@GlitterGlamGal It was just a blouse in my imagined analogy. I 'm grateful that these collars are being used as so many parrot owners don't know what to do and are uninformed about how to help their, sometimes entirely naked, poor little bird companions. Though the cause of the stress plucking should be treated as well. 👍
@@chookinathunderstorm3446 I think usually if their heads have been affected and is missing feathers it can be beak and feather disease or something like that, I don’t exactly remember if that’s the correct name but a lot of times this illness can be misdiagnosed as stress plucking.
@@mynameishuman4582 Seriously? Well for the odd asshole who doesn't love animals to bits, i am sure the owner would only be to happy to get their precious fur baby away from you asap, i know i would!!
@@mynameishuman4582you have a point. There are some people who do not want to be approached. Therefore, it is the owner's responsibility to get the pet away from them. And some people are mean to pets, so we want them to socialize but with caution ⚠️ 😅
She’s so quiet and purposeful with her movements. It’s like you know she’s powerful but she has no interest in expressing that side of herself in this moment.❤❤❤❤
To be fair, if he was afraid of birds and DID have sudden movements/was upset, you can't really blame him. That's an expectation that can be unreasonable - the owner shouldn't have put a stranger in that position, if not for the comfort of the other person at least for the safety of their animal. You don't know how the stranger will react, just as the stranger doesn't know how your pet will react. I agree that he handled it super well - just should not have been put in that position without warning or consultation. The parrot and the repairman are awesome, the owner was not awesome, unfortunately.
As someone who worked with a parrot rescue for half a decade, I can tell you losing a finger was the mildest of concerns I had watching this. I've seen cockatoos (and smaller parrots) act exactly like this, only to rip out teeth and eyes when they get close enough.
When I was looking for a cleaning service, I made sure to let them know that they would have two very judgmental su-purr-visors. My cats never got the memo that they are supposed to hide under the bed when someone comes over.
The iffy part about telling people your pet won’t bite is the fact that they are still capable of biting and if they do, you will look like an ass and a liar😂
And also why should a stranger take your word for your pet being friendly lmao - shouldn't have to be put in a position to even have to worry about that, especially in a totally controlled environment like this
Aw The repair guy actually did the the right thing when the bird came up, acknowledge her, and didnt shove a hand in her face, and didnt cringe or flinch at her climbing up
Assuming a stranger who isn't used to birds and could possibly be naturally nervous or reactive is a risk the owner shouldn't of taken the liberty of allowing. The gentleman handled it well thankfully but assuming he would, could've gone wrong for all involved and it would be the owners fault.
It was irresponsible for the animal caretaker to allow that interaction to happen in the first place. Many people don't want a creepy bird approaching them. She's should have kept it away from the guy unless she knew he would be OK with it. It could have been dangerous for the bird.
@@DebRoo11, you're right. The man seemed nervous. He even expressed his concern to the caretaker that he was worried about her biting. He even said "OW." That was an irresponsible animal caretaker. The gentleman was also installing a washing machine. Birdo could have been injured.
@@instigatedeye5941 it was just irresponsible of the owner to assume the repairman would be okay with the surprise interaction is all. Its like when people have their dog off leash and the dog runs up to a stranger. Many people have phobias or bad experiences we dont know about so it's really rude to assume everyone is going to love the interaction with your pet like the owner does. He's effectively working and paying attention to his job, you can tell he wasn't expecting the distraction. Yes he handled it well but that was a risk the owner had no right to take.
@@pampire13 Exactly!!! TOOOOOOO SMART! My Mother has an Umbrella Cockatoo named Gabrielle. She looks just like your sweet baby! But...My Sister is rotten! Lol! Your baby looks like the rotten potential is definitely there! We call ours Gabby and she knows she is MY SISTER! She sings Janis Joplin and sounds JUST LIKE HER! LOL! Her favorite song is "Bye Bye Baby." She is hilarious! She gets the Janis thing from me. I LOVE Janis Joplin! I was just listening to a cd one day...probably 20 years ago...and "Bye Bye Baby" came on and I was just going on about my business. I don't remember what I was doing and that is a pretty quiet song...by comparison. I was just doing whatever I was doing and by the end of the cd...all quiet and no one else home except Gabby and I and in the silence...I hear this sweet but very quiet voice and I stopped and just stood there for a few seconds...and I hear it more clearly now..."Bye...Bye...Baby Bye Bye." It scared me because the music was off and no one there but me and Gabby and...Janis... Jopl....AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! It sounded Exactly like her and Scared the crap out of me! She still sings that song to me and no matter what other songs they have tried to teach her. She will make it the Bye Bye Song! She hops up and down dancing...you know how they do. Whenever she hears Janis she gets totally mello, dances a little and then just looks completely chilled out! Hahaha! My sister is a Hippie just like me. Mom says..."Why couldn't you have taught her some Aretha or something. She isn't a big Janis fan but Hey I'm going to have her long after my parents are gone so we will have some things to bond over. Thought you might have gotten a kick out of that story.
He was nice about it. But if someone says “ow” after your animal’s mouth/teeth/beak have been on them, that’s really your sign to get them off. It might’ve hurt, but even if it didn’t, that was his was of saying, “I’m uncomfortable now, please take her, but I’m being polite”. Look at his body language & how the baby voice went away. It’s wild how the owner said “she won’t bite” after she bit his jacket & maybe a bit of arm to get up there 😂
I was always wondering how you went about these videos. Do you tell the guests beforehand about her? They always seem to react to her so gently and calmly! Just letting her climb up or reaching down to pick her up. SweetPea really lives up to her name!! ❤❤❤
I cannot stand when people think because they love their pets, you must also love their pets. Just FYI, while this guy was fine and everything was good, most of the time when people say "ow" it's because something is hurting them. You might think about stepping in, at that point, and doing something about it instead of filming. Just a suggestion.
@@theparrotlady okay can we please just take 5 minutes and talk about his fantastic accessory I cannot tell if that's supposed to be a shirt or or just a neck piece but it's super cute
@@theparrotlady okay and I have to ask you because I'm blanking right now is this the same bird that barks like a dog whatever someone approaches their house?
She approaches so quietly but deliberately and makes herself very comfortable with a stranger. That shows a lot not only in her confidence but that she lives with a loving welcoming family. She exhibits what she is learning in her environment! 🥰❤️🦜
