Yes, I'm not kidding. The Colossal Swords did not get buffed outside the Heavy Attacks from the uncharged Heavy Attack section. The Japanese patch notes actually correctly states the buff to "Colossal Weapons" and not "Colossal Swords" www.eldenring.jp/newsdetail/news_detail_240620_1.html Why are there so many "Colossal Swords are buffed" videos? Placebo effect is strong here. EDIT: Quick fix. I think something went wrong when I got the Guard Boost for the DLC shields. Wolf Crest & Messmer are both 73 GB post buff (basically in line with the rest of the buff which is to say a lot of GB too). Sorry about that.
Another quick fix for you, Rellana's Cameo is 23f on unsheathe and overhead stance and 25f on everything else, my mistake since it has so many speffectids.
I thought root motion data for colossal swords' standing light attacks were also increased. It's very small but it seems to be there when compared to previous patch. Still, Colossal Swords got the short end of the stick as everything else is much faster now. Relatively speaking it was the bare minimum buff for them to not become so utterly useless in comparison to the rest of the weapons.
6:31 imagine fromsoft heard people asking for swift slash nerfs and thought they were talking about the swift spear. I genuinely have no clue why they would make this change, no one used it and nobody complained about it
They've done that with so many items I've lost track now. For example I'm sure they nerfed tracking on Great Thrusting Swords because they thought people were complaining about them instead of the actual problem of turn tracking on normal thrusting swords. There's so many other examples of cases like this but I don't bother remembering them anymore

In 1.13 they made it so that Light of Miquella gets buffed, BUT THEY REMOVED THE BUFF TO RING INCANTS My Golden Order pure caster is ready for whenever From decides to fix Holy damage not being boosted in PvP and returns the rings boost to the Circlet of Light Copium
@@Whelzard also another bug I’m mindblown has never been fixed is loretta’s armor having pre poise buff stats but the altered one being correct. It literally gains poise and lower weight by removing the cape 😂 L for fashion souls
Shield strike before used the ‘fast weapon art’ cancel window instead of the ‘left attack’ cancel window. Now it cant’t true combo off right weapons except colossal sword crouch pokes and maybe late hit of neutral r1 of thrust halberds. Powerstance colossal weapons crouch went from 18 frames to 15 frames, it’s really good now.
I reported that bug (unreliability, especialy when targeting enemies with different elevation) and told them the solution is to make it like fleeting microcosm. I like to think that I was in part reason it got fixed. (Tho probably not) :D

The most frustrating part about Swift Spear is that the slow Ass recovery was the very Reason noone used it and then they went ahead and INCREASED the Recoverytime. WTF?!

I've always disliked how slow the "Swift Spear" felt lol, it's why I never used it. The attacks themselves are kind of fast, but it takes WAY too long to chain attacks with it. If they actually made it fast and not so clunky, I'd use it more since I love it's design.
Exactly! For a swift spear, I want a weapon where I can more smoothly make combo's and dodge out of the way. Not just a weapon with a higher rate of hits within attacks

I always hate it when developers just say "Increased this" or "decreased this" for their patch notes, especially when the numbers can swing from very minor, like the Colossal weapon crouch attack, to game-changing, like Rellana's going from 15% for 1.67 to a whopping 45% for 1s.
Yeah looks like it, just depends how much of a downside the 1 second charge time is. For some skills you can just do it twice in the same time that you'd need to charge the cameo and fire the skill.

For shield strike, using it on a thrusting shield used to true combo on just about every CGS attack and a few halberd and colossal sword attack. It no longer does true combo with any of them.
This was very good, but I feel a bit let down because I was expecting numbers on Radahn's nerf, mostly because so many people are saying he was destroyed, but I think it might be only a placebo effect. I think he is still hard, but he is not annoying anymore (or maybe I'm the one suffering the placebo effect).
@@mechamahou8467 he definitely feels much fairer now. I don't think he was "ruined" or made too easy, but I wish to see the real numbers because there's way too much disinformation about what really changed, and the patch notes are, as always, not very clear about the changes.

Great, so Rellana's Cameo is actually good now; too bad it still doesn't work on Bow skill stances though... or the Repeating Crossbow skill stance... or for that matter the fact that the Repeating Crossbow skill *_STILL ISN'T BUFFED BY SHARD OF ALEXANDER._* Oh but Brass Shield becoming a Greatshield that can Parry is perfectly fine though. What the hell FromSoft.
I honestly assumed when I saw that small/medium shield buff in the notes that they'd be bringing more shields up to the Brass Shield's level. I never would have guessed they'd also buff the Brass Shield. I'm not mad about it, but I am completely surprised.

0:38 I know this isn’t a a joke, but in the base game, is hitboxes we’re bugged and they accidentally nerfed him. They un-nerfed him in the next patch. The only thing different from release and now are his hitboxes are correct.
On the lore side, it's more ornamental as a canvas for the painting it carries. The blessing on it was meant to invigorate the warriors of the Erdtree as they journeyed in the service of conquest. I'd imagine actually presenting the shield to an enemy would scuff and scrape the symbol, which is why it was made less sturdy and effective to do so.
Now that I've finished my own video about this I can talk about it: something they didn't mention in the patch notes is a bug fix where backhand blade class weapons were unaffected by guard boost buffs (deflect tear and curved sword talisman). Now that the bug has secretly been fixed, their guard counters can be up to 116% stronger, and considering the 2h guard counter motion value was already WILDLY stronger than every other weapon in the game, this makes it arguably the best weapon for a deflect build in general

I took some time to report a couple text errors in the item descriptions (typos and stuff) and one actual bug. Near the Fissure there are two purple lilies that you can't interact with, the location is even littered with "could this be a bug"-type player messages. Sadly they didn't get around to it in 1.14 yet.
Personally think rellana cameo damage buff is too much. Godfrey icon which is its closest paralel since both requires you to delay your aow to receive their damage boost, only gives out 15% buff while the cameo is 3x times as that while also being much faster than fully charging an aow
Fully charged weapon Arts often receive way more stance dmg and often come with expanded effects, which has to be taken into account too, not only damage. But still, the Cameo buff might have been a little too much
I think it's still not all that great. I have tried Messmer with Unsheathe Spam yesterday and Cameo was too slow for most openings and you can often do Unsheathe + R1 in those. Godfrey Icon is far more universal and simply doesn't need the buff as it's one in all talisman that can boost both your spells and DMGS for example where Cameo has like 6 skills total it applies to.
@@szarkuwu try comparing moonveil with cameo against dmgs with godfrey icon since both are magic projectiles. You will see how much easier it is to pull of moonveil beam with how fast the cameo proc compared to fully charged godfrey icon dmgs
FS buffing Brass Shield is certainly a choice. They had a great opportunity to buff guard boost on other med shields to create some diversity but basically ended up making greatshields worse.
I'm pretty sure with the rellana's cameo buff the sword of night and flame's ash of war might be the strongest ash of war in the game. Especially the fire one.
I don't know if someone has already mentioned that Shield Strike after the patch is activated with Regular Weapon Art Cancel, and not with Fast Weapon Art Cancel, as it was earlier.
Divine Bird Feathers did not need a speed boost. They needed a cost boost. The FP and stamina consumption is wild. Granted, too high consumption is probably better than the first release of Divine Bird Feathers, where it was bugged and only consumed 3 FP total (you could keep casting the spell for as long as you wanted at 0 FP cost). Also, while the guard boost on medium shields is nice and all, it is absurd. I don't think they should be exceeding 70 stability. The original values were largely okay - maxed out at 65 stability was still very good. Great even. I hope they tweak medium shield guard stability to be slightly lower. Not any lower than before, but certainly not as high as they are now. They could even undo the 1.14 medium shield stability buff entirely, and I think it'd be good. Or they could otherwise boost some of the greatshields, make them more viable that way, but that could be kinda silly. Some greatshields already have a pretty absurd guard boost. edit: I thought I was done here, but apparently there are some small shields with higher stability than greatshields. Please FromSoft, we need a tweak here, because greatshields are looking mighty redundant now.
Rellana’s Cameo buff: Revenge of Unsheathe (remember thop’s barrier aow for the spammy magical blue unsheathe lol). Also Square off was already pretty fun in PVE before this. Since we’re talking straight swords: the now un-talked about Sword of N&F is a stance too. Wing stance. Am I missing any?
Im a both pre nerf Radahn. But I don't care. People that boast about it are cringe. I hated the new fight and got now enjoyment from beating it. Glad they made some adjustments to it.

Ive been sad that I got busy wirh work and had to stop my 2nd DLC playthrough in thr middle of it. But now Im happy since I was doing a Milady run and wanted to use Rellana Cameo but it just felt too slow. Hopefully its fast enough now to be usefull.
Noticed the Twin moons had hyper armor today when fighting Malenia on my pure mage as a summon thought she just missed at first till I saw my health lmao
has there been any changes to great axes and hammers/great hammers? Cause it was strange that bunch of weapons got their heavy attacks sped up while these had no updates on patch notes
You should do a video on Godfrey Icon and Shard of Alexander still bot working properly in hopes they work on it some more. Neither does anything for Gazing Finger and theres a bunch of weapons with holy damage as well that shard of alex. doesnt work at all.

The Shield Strike nerf is a bummer, though I guess we don’t know the details. The dueling shield grew on me a lot during my first run as I kept noticing it’s unique qualities and deceptive utility and power. The shield strike was quick enough to be a solid offhand attack when using a slow weapon, especially if you were lacking a thrusting attack option. Could still be somewhat true but I guess I’ll notice next time I play. I’ve never been a fan of shields but the dueling shields have quickly risen to my personal top 10, they’re just so different and interesting. So it’s a bummer they keep nerfing them, I don’t think people are abusing them that much. Correct me if I’m wrong.
yeah i dont get why the hell they nerfed the swift spear. Multi hit attacks are an active detriments on the weapon because of total recovery and it's just not powerful damage wise from the little I've played

I would say that buffing the elemental infusions of great shields, you know, making them not lose 15% of their guard boost would really help make them more viable I would like to use skills like shield crash or bash to allow setups without priority to take it back while doing at actually respectable dmg and not lose my ability to block things Greatshield setups are only strong when used with shield poking weapons, and I would like for them to be good in more builds like Greatshield and straight sword/hammer/axe/flail/one handed spear. So many setups that would and could work from a simple change

@@mechamahou8467 Are you serious? Fingerprint shield does not care about elemental damage. You can poke with it held up every time a pvp opponent makes any attack and out trade them. Not to mention how a greatshield talisman setup with any greatshield makes Radahn a cakewalk. Is this the ego trip you're talking about? Because otherwise you can't beat anything without your half a building to hide behind?

I doubt it but, have you tested whether savage lion's claw on the golem halberd can hit grounded opponents? Apparently it used not to and I don't own the dlc to test it myself.
