Anyone else been counting the days until Lasha? I mean I love seeing all the male and female weight classes compete, but there's a special excitement when it comes to all-time heaviest lifts at any weight EVER

disappointing that you're not even mentioning the C&J gold medalist and total bronze medalist in the 87's. Solfrid's the first ever Norwegian female world champion, and she only started weightlifting 2 years ago. an incredible performance, despite being hospitalized with sepsis 2 months ago.

I felt like the crowd booing Simon was a real disgrace. Similar to the Iranian crowd booing everyone in Paris. Such disrespect has no place in strength sports, imho.

Damn in the official livestream Akbar's overhead position looked amazing but from the side angle his wrists are fully back and his arms aren't nearly as far back as I thought they were. Still a well deserved victory, Akbar was clearly the best!

Yes it was a very close lift. It’s extremely hard to see positions from a front view. I don’t think anyone else except for Akbar would have made that though, he’s just stupidly flexible.

i feel like any other lifter must be super strict with their technique and body position and with akbar he can maintain whatever position to stand up with the bar, super strong and relaxed

Mentions the 2 US lifters even though they did not podium but I guess you have to cater to the needs of the biggest audience. Anyway keep up the good work WH!

The “tongue in cheek double standard” isn’t exactly fun, they were booing Martirosyan the entire time. Heckling the jury to red light him. It actually really took away from my enjoyment of the session to see such bad sportsmanship from the crowd.

Saw this in the M67s as well, crowd cheering for the UZB lifter and blowing trumpets after the Colombian guy missed his lift. Didn't appear to be doing it to other lifters.
