I don't feel young but was born in 1969. I discovered Buddy in 7th grade when I found a book about him in the library of an old Catholic school. I ran out and bought all his records I could find. He inspired the Stones and the Beatles. No one can overestimate his influence on music.

Elvis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison toured together when they were starting out. Its too bad that Buddy never toured with those guys.

If he had been a Tennessee boy, he would have. He was a Texas Rock n' Roll man, so there was quite a geographical difference.

Tile job. The Holleys had a tile company in Lubbock... Holley Tile. Travis Holley set tile for me in 1982 in Levelland. They came to Monarc Tile in San Angelo to purchase tile for a big job in Lubbock. The burger joint is still selling burgers in San Angelo on Chadbourne St. Grill-a-Burger is there now. Probably the same joint. Producers dropped the "e" in Buddy's name when he started recording. His headstone says Holley.
