I love Tampa , I moved here 5 years ago from Puerto Rico and I’m in love with Tampa the beaches are beautiful, The weather it’s perfect I don’t like the cold , and everything it’s very accessible there’s a lot of places to go have fun .
I think you are amazing! I loved your informative video! Our family is in Kentucky and planning to relocate to Tampa this summer. We do already have a realtor, but just saying I appreciate you and glad I came across this. Clear, simple, to the point and easy to understand 😀
New subscriber, current Michigander just outside of Detroit! Planning to move to Central Florida, hopefully this year! Thank you for giving me insight on the Sun Pass. I didn’t know you could put money on the Sun Pass 😊 Thank you for sharing this information.
I love Detroit. I don't care what people say. The architecture is amazing. I love the industrial legacy. The residential homes are built with better quality materials than Florida houses. But winters are rough.
I totally agree about the architecture. Having sold in both areas, the quality of the homes are better in FL. But it's only because of hurricane codes.
Always excellent info! Thank you! Current round trip in tolls from Baltimore, MD to NYC cost over $50 and that’s w/ an EZ pass where I get a discount for the tolls I go thru in MD (some people don’t mind the scenic route and opt for no tolls but I prefer going a straighter route and not adding more time on my drive).
Glad we are living in a community with a minimal HOA fee -$180, that covers the water, garbage, security personnel, pool maintenance, and others. House has 3bedroom and 2.5 bathrooms, and our median electricity bill is only $100. Not in Tampa, though close enough, like 16 minutes drive.
2023 new house cost in Tampa suburbs are even higher than 2016 new home cost in central New Jersey; I earned more money in central New Jersey in 2016 than in 2023 Tampa. example 4 bedroom, 2 story home, double garage and basement at 2,350 sqf in Somerset NJ in 2016 was $360k and property taxes about $7,200; now I Plant City, FL (30 min from Tampa) you can get 2,350 2 story home by DR HORTON for $375k and property taxes about $7,000 because of community pool ect. Besides, the live is now more expensive in 2023 Florida than 2016 New Jersey.
@@ImLaurenStephens I can comment that in Florida the express series are build with lot of cheap materials; for example window frames are so thin that when you tough the glass the who window with frames moves slightly, there is the most basic paint and finish on the drywall, the cheapest paint (know that there are 6 level of finish of drywall) so forget about latex paint or texture finish, DR Horton uses 3-tab shingles (I had shingles like that and to replace the roof after 15 years) - those are the things I noticed during new home tour - Dr Horton has to improve
Came to the Tampa area 10 years ago. The value of my house doubled in that time. I've seen a very significant jump in expenses in general in that decade also. I don't think it's a Tampa thing. Pretty sure it's everywhere but the idea that florida is cheap is out the window. Only cheap places are areas where you probably wouldn't want to live.
This is a very interesting video to me, Juan! I'm interested in relocated possibly to Tampa in the next one to two years, so I'm interested in what you shared here. Might just have to touch base with you...!😏
Pittsburgh PA. You are always heating or cooling. $400 a month gas to heat in the winter. $400 a month electric to cool in the summer. It’s just a battle of the extremes. It’s a pretty nice city to live in the suburbs of. But I’ve ALWAYS wanted to go south.
I used to live in Tampa for ten years but left the state 19 years ago. I was very happy to leave due to the humidity and heat. Plus you either need to live with the cockroach or chemical in your house. We got geckos instead to deal with it. They take care of the spiders too. Tampa had the highest car stolen in USA. I don't know if that is true now or not. But car insurance was expensive. So was homeowner and wind storm insurance as well. If you are in the flood zone or if you want protection from flood damage. You need flood insurance too. Liability insurance is expensive as well. Utility was not cheap for you had water and sewer charges. If you only had one water meter for the entire lot, then you are paying extra for sewer fee watering your landscaping and pool. You can pay extra to plumb and get second meter just for outdoor only. That was so back then. I don't know about now.. Florida is flatter than a pancake and has the lowest elevation of all 50 states. I missed the mountains. Then we got climate problems of water rising every year on the coastlines. I have seen projections that half of the state will be underwater. It's either that or go the Netherlands diking route. Who is going to pay for the dikes? Hopefully we'll be able to reduce the CO2 in time to be reversible. In the meantime the weather is very extreme all over the USA and around the world.
What you said about mountains is so true 😢 I moved here from Italy, my native country, and I lived close to the mountains. I would go on mountain bike trips with friends often, on mountain and hill roads, and it was amazing to see the city from the hills. I love Tampa and I love the climate here, I also love the unique animals (gators and certain birds), but it's just sad that there's no mountain 😢
It’s expensive period. If it wasn’t like communist China in New York I would have stayed. Well here I am. It’s hot, hot , hot in the summer. Housing is not cheap by any means. If you buy a house the taxes are going to be re assed and go through the roof. Car and home insurance is way out of control. Utilities are crazy. The winters are very nice. Think long and hard before you decide to move here. I’m warning you.
You say so. We pay half of our annual mortgage with the property tax savings alone. Not to mention Florida is one of the free-est states in the country.
@@trulivingtampa I am not unhappy I’m her in the freest state. I am letting people know so they prepared. Fail to prepare prepare to fail. Have a great day.
@@trulivingtampa please explain your freest state comment. when I see companies, etc being punished because they think different. what is so free is it because you didn't have to wear a mask. please tell me that is not what you are talking about and that is not the reason you moved to Florida. smh
Start from the income before showing cost of living. Tampa does not pay fair salaries, even. I've been here 24 years and still waiting for salary to match my experience. Don't move here.
I can’t speak to Boston’s market. IMO Tampa has more upside being that’s it’s not as well established, but take that with a grain of salt because I don’t invest there or sell there.
I’m actually amused how many are still moving to FL as a native born and bred even I couldn’t take the way it is now. Two words. Good luck. You will need it.
I can tell you have not lived here that long. I watched your vid...and when it comes to insurance , $2500.00 a year for a 4 bedroom 2 bath home? I’d LOVE to know the the deductible, and I’d REALLY like to talk to your agent....and if you’re even close to the water, good luck trying to find an insurance company that will even take you on or they will charge you thru the nose if you have a mortgage and more than likely, they’ll drop you after the first year or so and God forbid you ever do a claim. PLUS, if your home was built back in the 70’s or 80’s, the insurance company will go over your house with a fine tooth comb...wind mitigation...new roofs within the past 5 years and so on.... I’ve lived on the east coast for 40 + years, just north WPB, been thru 8 hurricanes with 3 direct hits and a couple that brushed by where I live (about a mile from the beach as the crow flies) Insurance rates in this state are OUT OF CONTROL! It is one of the MOST important details of moving to this state so please emphasize that when doing your vids
You are right, rates are all over the board. Our home was built in 77 and less than 2 miles to the road and we’re paying those rates. We are in a non-flood, non-evacuation zone and have a new roof.
Water and sewer combined. Also I have 5 people in our household and a pool to top off occasionally. Hope that helps. Oh! Thanks for using our site to search for homes. Please feel free to text or call with questions, I’m here to help! (813) 261-3540
@LIVING IN TAMPA FLORIDA that's not bad at all. We have well water and therefore no water bill coming in but we do have to pay to get the septic tank emptied.
We are considering relocating to Tampa from NJ. We are a young family with two kids aged 4 and 3. We want to rent for a year as we don’t want to make a huge commitment just yet. Where can I find the safest and best neighborhoods for kids?
