in state of Florida if u get caught growing marijuana plant at your house u will go straight to jail not here in California u wont go to jail if u grow your own marijuana plant 😃
We moved to Tampa in 2017. We grew so TIRED of the cold and snow in Ohio. I love living in Tampa. As I’m typing this (October 24, 2023) it is PERFECTLY clear outside and 80° already! I LOVE this! Tampa is BEAUTIFUL. The palm trees, water surrounding the city skyline is breathtakingly beautiful. The best part about living in Tampa is that I don’t have to worry about that doom and gloom feeling of leaves falling from trees and having to prep the place for winter. Driving with my convertible top down in January is heaven on earth.
Man I can hear you talk for hours. Such a comfortable tone. The wife and I, plan on moving down May of next year after we are done with grad school! Thanks for the amazing insight!
Glad it helped, Zachary. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions. Hey Manny. Feel free to reach out (813) 261-3540 juan@trulivingroup.com
Michigander here. Metro Detroit. Moved to Central Florida year and a half ago and we love it. We don’t live by the beach but we can drive to either coast in under 2 hours. The only bugs we’ve had in our home are small spiders. We don’t use a pest control company. We do the spraying ourselves. We don’t get sand in our house. More positives than cons!
@@trulivingtampa i hope this yea hurricane that hit Florida is just as deadly as hurricane Ian when it does i hope ya got really good flood insurance because if ya don’t ya is really fucked 😄
@@trulivingtampa wait until more and more people movin to Florida its goin to be more expensive…the more people movin to Florida the more expensive it will get
Tampa resident for nearly 2 decades here. Some food for thought: The "Florida man" stereotype isn't a joke. The heat and humidity here can make people behave strangely. Even normal rational people don't handle +80F & 90% humidity very well. Drug addicts and crime is an issue nationally, but because of good weather year round in FL there's a lot of junkies. Same issue Cali had except junkies are leaving Cali. You'll run into them at minimum twice a week here in Tampa. The number of them scales with population btw, as does plenty of other things. Also, traffic is EXPLODED in the last 3 years. Rush hour used to be nominal and not that serious. But the COVID migration has made it as bad as other full cities. Tampa did not prepare for this expansion. Edit: P.S. Insurance costs have skyrocketed in the last 3 years as well. Home, rental, auto, healthcare. All insurance is brutal, especially home and auto right now.
in the state of Florida if u get caught growing your own marijuana plant at your house u will go straight to jail not here in California u wont go straight to jail because marijuana 100% legal here in California…..California the best state to grow your own marijuana plant at your house without goin to jail 😃
Absolutely...the heat and humidity is insane...it's beyond comprehensive...and it's flat...you'll have to drive 400 plus miles to get out of Florida and see hills and waterfalls...and breath cool crisp air...
Also, there’s competition for work so a lot of people are significantly under paid. I left Tampa for another city that is smaller and somehow got a 30k raise doing the same job. I’m thankful but also infuriated because that’s not okay.
@@stevewalther2293or you can move up north to deal with all of that “crisp” air and cool temps until your heart’s content. I’ll take all of the heat any day over the frigid days of Ohio again.
I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, and have never lived anywhere else, but now I have 2 excellent job opportunities right now. 1 is in Tampa and the other is in Phoenix AZ. My gut is telling me Phoenix, but my wife is leaning more towards Tampa. This is one of the toughest decisions I've ever had to make.
I remember that feeling. Having been visited PHX a few times, the thing that suck out to me was how brown everything was. It was also hotter than Florida, and thats saying a lot. Good luck with the decision. Feel free to reach out if you ever have any questions. (813) 261-3540
I love learning your “Why”. We are looking at several locations to retire in Florida and Myrtle Beach and struggling with so many differences. Coming from Oklahoma our main focus is lifestyle, weather and proximity to public beaches. Thanks for all your information and we will keep researching.
Oh man!…I am Tampanian and you absolutely cracked me up talking about our bugs!😂😂😂. I am happy to see you love Tampa! So do I! I’ve always felt a little biased but I think it’s the greatest city and it will always be home for me as well. Thank you for the video and welcome to Tampa!!❤
Traffic is absolutely horrendous in Florida. Especially now that so many people have moved here. Literally have to plan on an extra 20 to 30 min getting close to Cali traffic .
Wow this video quality is like you have 500k+ subs, really nice job man you deserve many more subs and views thats for sure. I also wanted to thank you for making this video, teaching us what you have learned. First time I ever watched a video over 10 minutes and I watched every single minute of the 38. See ya down in tampa hopefully, Relocating from New York myself.
You hit it with a CHANCLA! Forgive my Spanish spelling. We are planning to move down in July. This is a great video! can't wait to show my wife everything but the bug section lol
Very entertaining! Moved from Ohio to FT Myers couple of years ago and wishing I went to Tampa, a much more vibrant city and I am 65 ..lol Its all about the very first pro.. LIFESTYLE and that is why I am moving to Tampa in a few short months! Thanks for confirming my choice!!
Tampa is beautiful. Moved here from NJ 2 years ago and I’m going around exploring the good eats and activities in the area. Such an amazing place to live. Come check out some of the spots I visited😁
Tampa is not as beautiful as San Francisco tho….why don’t u watch a RU-vid video what is the most beautiful city in America i will guarantee u Tampa will not be in none of those video…..San Francisco is known as a sightseeing tour……..
@@stevenjohnson8736 I appreciate u loving San Fran but we all have different things that we find attractive. Having traveled and lived in a few places around the country I personally love Tampa. Not only for the city itself but also because it has become the place my family and I call home. Being from NJ this is a paradise😁 I definitely would like to visit San Fran as Cali itself is a beautiful state!
Hey Juan, thanks so much for this video! We are strongly considering Tampa / St. Pete and found this video the most thoughtful and insightful resource we’ve found so far. We relate to your story and appreciate you sharing it. We plan to reach out in the near future! Thanks again and please keep making great content like this.
I moved here over 40 years ago , without ever visiting , 30 degrees below windchill and running out of oil for the furnace in Pennsylvania made up my mind . I'm very happy i made that decision . I now live in Temple Terrace, and have a rental in Tampa . The only thing that really gets on my nerves , is every day someone is calling , texting or knocking at my door wanting to buy my properties.
Ima Tampa native I moved to Kentucky when I was 12 just before my 13th birthday I've been trying to move back since I tried 3 time in the last 2 years I miss home it's so much different now
Good video. Good information and informative. Moved to downtown tampa 6 months ago. Never owned a car. You could mention that downtown has a free streetcar. Goes to Ybor city channelside. Great areas. Love the tampa bay history museum. And the pirate yellow taxi that goes on the Hillsborough river. Also love harbour island. Just want to add too food very over priced. But found 2 great places to eat. Very affordable. Tampa Bay Pizza company and brueggers bagels which is on Jackson and Kennedy. They are only open Monday to Friday 630am to 1230pm. 😊😊😊
Native Floridian here. Myself and my fellow natives are pretty much over the way the state has been infiltrated with people that want it their way. If you want it your way, go back. The last 4 years our state has been ruined. I’m here 60 yrs. we are happy to share just be respectful. That seems to much to ask.
Fellow native here..been in central FL over 30 years. I have to agree. It's great weather here but it's ridiculously too many people bringing their bull$hit here.
I hate that the cost-of-living has gone up. I really do. However, there were certain types of people that we needed to move out of the city. When I first moved here in 2012, it was really tough to try to find other people who were educated and motivated, and had goals. I felt like I was the only one and, since I worked from home, I wasn’t meeting people like me through work. Everybody I randomly met was a server at whatever restaurant, who would go home after work every single day and get high and that was their entire life. There were a lot of trashy people. With the increased cost of living, a lot of those people are moving out. It sucks that they are being forced out. I don’t think ALL of them should have to leave, because that diversity is important…but SOME of them definitely needed to go and to be replaced with more classy people who could go 24 hours without getting high.
Your video is very helpful and thank you to spend some time on the various things you did before you mention the pros and cons . Those were the same things that i am doing now and your insight was very helpful and good to know that it is normal to search and look around. Thank you for this video. I also wanted to add a point that , usually other videos are stereotype just mentioning few points that is already available in google, but in your case i felt i am talking a person who has genuine points with practical examples. I never got bored as you know how to explain things to make the audience listen to each and every point you are saying. I appreciate your skills and thanks again !!
lol you forgot to mention the rain schedule, lol you can set your clocks to it, lol usually around 10/11am then the sun comes out, then around 4ish the sun is out but its raining, and then between 7 -9 you get your storms but you can see the sun and depending on where you are, it can be raining on one side of the road and sunny on the other, lol, once you experience it, you will never forget it.
Hi Juan, it would be great to have a video on "What's Coming to Tampa"' Here's a couple... Tampa’s next big splash: history-rich Gas Worx, connecting Ybor City and more. Also, it's a few years away but can't wait for BrightLine to connect Tampa to Orlando and Miami.
Great recommendations, Dave! We have covered all of these in our livestreams this past year, and will definitely revisit all the progress this year. Thanks for watching and sharing. 💪🏼
Way back in January 1988 I was in Pensacola for my Navy Photography school. It snowed one day. That took Pensacola off my list. I don't want to see another winter. I'm moving to Tampa in July.
I lived in south Texas all my life, moved to Miami it took me 4yrs to miss the cool weather on the texas coast. South Texas has basically identical climate as Tampa. Tampa has a more modern , bit traditional style to it, but l love the spanish feel of the South Texas coast.
in the state of texas if u get caught growing your own marijuana plant at your house u will go straight to jail not here in California here in California u can grow your own marijuana plant at your house and u wont go straight to jail 😃
why dont u go to Austin and tell that handicap who is sitting in that damn wheelchair govener Abbot to legalize recreational marijuana like California 😃
loltoo many people found out how affordable Tampa was, now they are messing it up for the locals lol.. New Tampa cost of living has gone up about 45% in the last 2 years.... and now traffic has gotten worse
Hey Kerty, thanks for watching. What we are experiencing is not exclusive to Tampa, vlvost of living has skyrocketed nationally. We are just one of many.
Thanks for watching and subscribing. I don't have videos on condos but I'd be happy to connect and answer any questions you have. Feel free to reach out. (813) 261-3540
1) Get regular pest control for the bugs. Make sure they spray the heck out of every room in your house and you should be good. The bug you showed in the picture was not a palmetto bug or a cockroach. I don’t know what the heck that thing is. It looks like a huge beetle. But either way, I have never seen one of those. The ones that I see look like just giant cockroaches . 2) But, there is roach spray that is all natural. It is made of mint, wintergreen, and rosemary oil and it works really well. You spray a lot of it on the roach and it will be dead in about 20 minutes. Then you can pick it up.
I wish you would comment on the average wage of people who live in the area, I don't think it is going up like the cost of living. You bought at a good time!!!
That's a great question, and will totally depend on your lifestyle goals. I like Nashville to, it's a fantastic city too, but the weather is a no for us. It still gets cold and dreary in the winter.

If you live in downtown tampa by the riverwalk which I do I find it expensive. However you could shop at greenwise buy food there at reasonable prices and take the streetcar for free. Live downtown without a car. Do not own one. Never had a car. Lived in nyc boston Cali. In depends on your lifestyle and where you live in Tampa. Been retired since I was 58. No kids 😊😊. Never married 😊😊. Peace and freedom 😊😊😊😊
In downtown tampa there is a free streetcar that goes from near the Hilton to Ybor city and also buses. I think the name of the company is hart. You can also contact the tampa bay visitor center. They can give you lots of information about tampa.
Nice Video Juan, We are from NY and moved to AZ in 09' before it was a thing.... Now its ridiculous out here in AZ. Over crowed and over priced for these cookie cutter homes. CA are moving here paying 500k for a 200k home 🤣 ... Since we grew up in NY. We have friends and family in FL. I was actually born in Inverness. It was super dead back in the 70s and 80's. I heard things changed out there. Go figure, lol. But we are thinking of visiting in Sept. and possibly moving in 2024. We like how DeSantis is running FL now. My question is, how is Appraising out there? I am a Cert Res Appraiser and I know FL is growing rapidly and all. What areas should I look for where I will be busy with out travelling all day? Thank you sir. BTW... i'm 45 as well, but my kids are 21 and 19. lol
How is the humidity? I’m from Texas trying to determine where the quality of life is better in alligator alley. How is the crime compared to other like cities?
I’m in Houston and visited Tampa. Also lived in Miami for few years. Humidity feels the same in Tampa and Houston to me, uncomfortable and sweat a bit. Miami’s humidity is bad, short few minute walk and you will be soaked in sweat.
I plan moving to Tampa Orlando or Jacksonville more than likely Tampa I don’t make the Money to live in Miami currently I live in the worst city in United States America Corpus Christi Texas which is a 3rd world Long Beach California you’ll have to travel here to understand what I’m saying
Lived in Florida for about a decade. Learn to love those lizards. They are your best friends. If you buy in a brand new development, probably won’t have any for a while. If you can… consider “relocating” some lizards to your yard. Jump start natures pest control. They will eventually come anyway, but local ecosystem kinda goes into shock every time they build a new development.
I guess I don't understand the notion that home insurance rates are going to drop in Florida. I suppose if you bury your head in the sand and ignore climate change, I guess I can see how one could come to this conclusion that they may drop. How's it takes? Is one bad hurricane and insurance rates stay the same in Florida?
As of now, we are still holding up great. www.tampa.gov/news/tampas-tech-scene-soars-information-technology-job-market-experiences-unprecedented-growth
It's hotter the further south you go, generally. During the day the coasts are cooler, and the inland areas are hotter. During the night, the coasts are warmer and inland areas are cooler. So, in the middle of summer Orlando might feel hotter than coastal St. Petersburg, but Orlando cools down more at night. The water blunts big shifts in temperature.
Pros...it's not cold in January... Cons...it's a flat peace of sand sorrounded by water... Too hot!!! No personality!!! No Character!!! Gets monotonous and boring!!!
@@trulivingtampa its so sad because your pros list honestly had me pretty much decided but I am deathly (and probably irrationally) scared/creeped out by bugs, roaches, snakes and most reptiles. its fine if I see them on rare occasions but to see them often, idk. maybe id get used to them?? decisions decisions, lol
@@trulivingtampa Yeah, we have the same bugs here in south Texas. The roaches are hug and they play dead, make a hissing noise and they fly. I just crush them. Great video !! I might be moving to the Tampa area in about 5 years.
so long and slow, i just watched at 2xs speed and still became impatient. i want a 2 bedroom ocean side condo or within walking distance. although i am being provoked to buy in Bradenton school district.
Don't be fooled how cheap it is to live in the sunshine ☀ state. Sunshine is free. And maybe 10 years ago it was cheap. But owning a condo even if you pay cash there is still the hoa property taxes.I paid 5 thousand to Pinellas County last year. This year maybe 2 thousand to Hillsborough. Then there is insurance. Electric bill monthly and in the summer you pay. Then occasionally you like to eat. I do without cable. Phone bill too. Medical and dental. Glad I retired at 58. Atleast no mortgage. But snow anymore. 😊😊
Take away mild temps during the winter months and some beaches with fine, white sand and what do you have? You have Avenue after Avenue of fast food restaurants, gas stations and pawn shops. You can’t go outside from April to September, you can’t walk around as you will either be hit by a vehicle or get robbed. The No state income tax is irrelevant since most jobs pay below the National average and the cost of living has skyrocketed. It is nice to vacation down there but knowing you are eventually hopping on a plane and out of the state.
That’s like saying, take away the mountains and 4 months of greet weather and Colorado is nothing more that a flat, dead piece of earth. Everything is not for everyone. But, if you love it, it’s for you.
