The real costs of getting a ChangLi and ChangLi Truck to the USA 

I have imported one already and currently have a full container in route. Trust me he is 100% telling the truth, and I experienced a huge learning curve with my first one. Shipping costs are outrageous right now, and just to add to his list of costs you don’t find out about until you actually bring one in….this does get hit with that additional 25% tariff on top of normal duties. You also need to pay for importing bonding license. I imagine that those who have their item stuck in customs aren’t bonded. If you want one of these buying one from these guys is by far the best option for you, it will be quicker and cheaper then trying to do it on your own!

I’m gonna get one just to support your honesty. My family has shipping company back in my country, this guy speaks the truth.

I deal with Air and Ocean freight. You are spot on. I've seen storage fees for air freight that was over $10k because the shipment was not or could not be picked up on time. You need someone competent to deal with the import stuff...Trust me! (I deal more with airfreight but handle some ocean but not at the ports)

Back in April, I've imported a ChangLi into my native Romania. It cost me US $2500 for the car and FOB shipping to Shanghai, plus US $3000 customs clearance and shipping to door. Total: US $5500. At the time, I thought the delivery charges amounted to highway robbery, but now I think I got off pretty cheap.

I used to work for CBP, you would need a broker to import something like this from another country. Finding one that has experience with this could be tough. It’s the same process some car companies go through like Mercedes and BMW. Seems like this company has a good broker and infrastructure in place. It makes sense to buy from them.

You should work with the factory to assemble them in America 🤭 at least you can source the battery etc from a local shop. And do modification upgrades and ship to Canada 👍👍

this is a good concept and I applaud you in your effort to get ahead of the curve. I just want to add though, regulation seems to be the great hinderance in this. Its unfortunate that you have to go through the conglomeration of flaming hoops to stay a successful business.

WOW shipping this to NJ from Shanghai would be insane and time is no joke also. Ship to the west coast ( Prince Rupert) and rail to NJ. 50% cheaper and save three weeks.

This gentleman is telling the truth, and I'll add that there aren't big bucks to be made on the dealers end here in the USA. It would have to be a high-volume dealership to do very well. I'd say this guy probably averages only about five hundred dollars or so on a given unit. As well, I'm sure that he consistently loses would be customers letting them down when informing them that these vehicles aren't street legal. Another thing that will work against guys in this business such as the gentleman in the video here, is that General Motors and Wuling Motors (China) have been working together to bring a very low-cost model of Wuling's here to the USA, and that will be street legal. As far as I know the import merger units haven't arrived as yet. I'm sure they'll sell well here because we don't have decent paying jobs for a lot of people anymore since our politician's along with corporate greed sent those jobs overseas. And please don't get mad at the people that buy the upcoming Chinese cars, because they can't afford anything better that comes with a factory warrantee. And it's not their fault our politician's and big businesses like GM screwed us out of their mindless greed. This has caused a lot of needless poverty in the USA. And there are children that go to bed hungry in our USA. If you didn't know that, it's true.

I ordered a tractor and didn't pay 1/2 of the fees you listed delivered to my door. I ordered other equipment it was an easy deal. But I had a shipper do it which the manufacturer set up

I've shipped brand new BMW's and Mercedes from Germany with the German specs and it's not that difficult or expensive but this guy's people do the service of taking out a lot of the hasel and aggrevating factors.. and I Love convinence! Sometimes it's worth paying a little more for services this company provides..

People acting like this major undertaking is something he should do for free. He's in business in an attempt to make some sort of living. Shipping cargo is an expensive and time consuming undertaking, especially bringing it into the U.S.. The guy needs to make some compensation for his efforts. I have a very close friend that ships commodities (rice, wheat etc) to Guam and brings containers back with products for companies here, Guam is a U.S. territory and he says it is extremely difficult when it comes to vehicles. I have asked him about importing a whole container load to Guam where his son lives and runs that side of his business, then bringing it to Port of Oakland where I can pick it up with a flat deck trailer so I can get the container to my warehouse. It is a logistical nightmare to pull off and something he and I both decided is simply not worth it unless we were going to make huge profit on the items. Mind you he is already bonded and has 2 full time employees working in the import/export of goods from overseas to American ports. It would take 2-3 months minimum to get and then time in customs. He has a warehouse at the Port of Oakland so that part is a bit easier. Still, no thanks.

Because of the complicated tax declaration, paperwork, customs clearance communication, etc., you also need to consider the external damage caused by the logistics process. The price of the purchasing agency is a little expensive, but you will save a lot of trouble

As a UPS driver of 26 years, i can back him up on the surprise fees you can end up paying. i kew of a guy who tried to import Ebikes, and lied and said they were power wheels, they took the bikes and charged him $10,000.

We should be building things like this here in America, to bring down the cost.... but then i realized it would still be the same price, because we pay workers $14 per hour but in china they pay workers 10¢ per hour

100% correct. I looked into importing golf carts. It's sad the end user ends up paying $8k-$10k for something that is literally worth $2k because of cheap production, the logistics, and all the red tape involved in getting it to US soil and the seller just trying to make a living. So frustrating!

Initial price, versus the reality of parts and maintenance. The worlds running a resource shortage on everything that was normal to even the most abundant supplies. Manpower, resources, forces directly against stabilization and what do you have to gain getting this vehicle or any other? Debt. These are toys with no backup. Get a bike, hope you can keep the tires from going flat.

TOTALLY worth vs the headache of manually importing. I'm guessing revenue per sale is around $500 max $1000 which is a very low price for this service compared to the headache.

Funny story, A former client of mine some years ago spent half the year in Cape Town, South Africa and the other in his other house in Delaware. In both countries he drove South African built and manufactured Mercedes Benz 230 cars. Funny thing the South African built car in the USA is one third cheaper than he bought it in Cape Town. The cars leave South African from the city of East London weekly by car carriers by the shipload.

Is it really 4 times the cost? I am not sure I have ordered smaller product before like Game console cases and clothing. I paid abut 25 percent for shipping typically. I can't image the shipping being more then the actual product so 2400 for the truck you say more then 2400 to ship? How much do you make per vehicle I would amagine to make it worth while at the end of the day you make the cost of each vehicle so 2k ish 😉. Obviously, even purchasing an entire container does NOT ensure a dent free vehicle as I see a dent on the hood of the Truck and the front valance on the car is also dented. As interesting as these are... that's a lot of money in the end for something that isn't even street legal.

It would be nice for you to have a location in Atlanta to serve the whole southeast but Birmingham, Alabama would probably have cheaper tax's both for the customer and the distributor.
