I saw Lenny White with Return to Forever in 1975 at Place des Nations in Montreal when I was 12 yrs old. I was with my father and that concert completely changed my (young) perspective on musicianship.
I was at this gig - it was excellent! It was an amazing festival. I was lucky enough to see Mr Brecker, my favourite sax player, a couple of times in London too, but loved seeing him play here with his brother, Randy. This festival also saw Candy Dulfer and Hans Dulfer playing individually and together - more of my favourite sax players. I also saw Oscar Peterson play at this festival. And B.B. King. And Santana! Memories come flooding back...
For me Michael Brecker was the god of any horn. I always liked both Trumpet and Sax but couldn’t decide which until Michael caught my ear. I love Wayne too but Mike is angelic in his sound❤
The Return of the Brecker Bros! saw them live in london about this time, but Dennis Chambers was on drums. Thanks for uploading this, really enjoyed. RIP Michael Brecker
Lenny White. 🥁 🪘 🛢 too much. I saw him at Great American Music Hall during the Astral Pirates tour. Pure bliss. Then years later with Return to Forever- Returns (Al Di Meola). One of my favorites. This band is really great. Funky grooving jazz. So many configurations of musicians you never know of- until the miracle of RU-vid. Thanks to all. 🕉
i had the pleasure of michael brecker playing in my ear at Blues Alley with Elvin Jones ..tables were set up so he played right in my ear all night..was amazing
