Not a ghost story, but like 15 years ago my grandfather visited the Queen Mary and somehow ended up playing the Piano in the Grand Lobby for a few hours because nobody had the heart to tell him he wasn't supposed to.

I had my own strange experience on the Queen Mary when I was a kid. Can't remember exactly which trip this was, but it was in the mid to late '80's when she was still at Long Beach. The Spuce Goose was still there too. I was still in elementary school. We were down near the engines with a tour group. I was checking out some cool piece of machinery and didn't notice the group had left until they were too far away to find. (Note: I was a quiet kid and my parents were carrying my two younger sisters who vocally didn't care to be there, so I don't fault them). After wandering for a bit I ran into a girl, about my age, wearing an old-fashioned dress. Her clothes didn't strike me as too odd, as my sisters would wear similar clothes for fancy parties. She asked if I was lost too, to which I said I was. She said she knew the ship well and together we'd find the group. She took me by the hand and we walked for some time, going up at least one deck, maybe two, I think we were in third-class berths. We turned a corner and I saw one of my uncles down the corridor just about to turn the corner. I told the girl that was my uncle and we'd caught up, but when I turned to her she wasn't there. I ran to catch up, but didn't have a chance to talk to the guide for a bit. Finally I told him about the little girl and described her, as I thought she was still missing. He told me not to worry about her, that she lives here [on the ship], and he was glad she helped me rejoin the tour.

his story about "in a moment, im back in 1963...." i have had that type of experience many times. one time was so bad, that my friends took me out side to sit down. we had walked into a toy and kite shop. building was over 120 years old at the time. I was looking around, not really to concerned about any thing and then with in 1/4 of a second every thing bleached from the dark store filled with colors to a bright bright mint green. got that feeling of walking out of a movie theater on a bright sunny day. so now Im standing in the middle of a 1950's ice cream parlor. Looked like a Norman Rockwell painting come to life. little boys in the cuffed up jeans an all. No one paid attention to me. saw it for what felt like 2-3 min. then i felt a hand on m y shoulder. it was my friend asking if i was ok. he said I had just gone pale and glazed over. they took me out in to the bright warm day and i sat on a bench. His recollections feel completely valid. Events such as those he described occur at lightning speed.. feels so surreal that when relating one's experiences, the teller may be met with disbelief, eyeroll, etc. The three occasions I've related my ghost experience to someone, I feel ridiculous (the best term I can think of) I usually finish my "share" with five simple words: I know what I saw.

I was on the Queen Mary in the 90's. I saw a very tall, thin man standing in the back of the elevator my then boyfriend and i boarded. I could feel his presence (like when you feel someone staring hard at u only to look up and catch their glare). So I look back to greet the man. He was gone. So I asked my bf "Hey! Where did the man go?" As i pressed my hands against the wall's big square tiles on the elevator. *i remember that detail well. He was dressed in a suit, standing straight up looking straight ahead as we boarded. Anyway, my bf said there was no man. I argued that there was and what he was wearing. He was thin and very tall and caucasian) The doors open and he said I was crazy. So I didnt give it any thought until many years later. I told the story to a friend who was watching a documentary. She told me that "ghost" was mentioned. Turned out to be a grieving father who committed suicide. *The End*

As I turned to unlock my door to place my luggage in and turn back to talk to him he had literally disappeared. I ran to try to find him and he was nowhere to be found. I later spoke with staff and they knew all about him and said this was something others had reported. It was an absolutely amazing encounter because he looked as real as any living person. My Great Uncle worked on a ship called the William H Donner built in 1914. The ship was stationed in Milwaukee in the 70's for use as a crane barge, he claimed that several workers saw shadows out of the corners of their eyes during that time. One worker named Steve took a photo of the ships disabled engine room, the photo shows a white blur behind the ship's engine. The Donner was scrapped in 2017, and the photos taken around its end are just uneasy to look at.

Many of the most learnéd individuals among us won’t casually dismiss the possibility of such events. The more you know, the more you realise how much is unknown. The whereabouts and substance of the vast majority of matter in the universe is a mystery, so who is the average ignoramus to say what is, and what is not, real?!? From my sister about the time we were kids in the 70s at the Queen Mary. “You were circa 2nd grade, and still very much in the early stages of learning how to read. We were standing shoulder to shoulder with our hands on the outside railing of the Queen Mary's outside deck looking out toward the ocean. We'd left mom and dad out of sight and only relatively nearby to run over to see more of the ocean view. We stopped at a nice open, and quiet spot; no one was close by to where we stood viewing the ocean harbor. In the near distance was an airplane towing a banner advertising an upcoming beach concert. You stood there and were trying to sound out loud the words on the banner and going v-e-r-y slowly as a beginning reader. After a short time of you struggling to read the banner out loud, I heard a woman's voice right behind the two of us. For just half a second, I thought mom had come up behind us, but then realized the voice wasn't mom's. But this friendly sounding woman was gently sounding out the next syllable whenever you'd stopped reading out loud when you were having trouble. But the woman sounded quite nice and was gently helping you along whenever you came to any hard combination of letters. You followed suit in perfect timing with her instructions. But by the end of the banner's message though, I lost patience and I spoke out loud the very last syllable right at the same moment I was turning around to smile and thank the woman for her help - but was confronted with - "Whoops this can't be!" There was absolutely no one around behind us, not just right behind us where the helpful woman should have been, but no one in that entire section of open deck (i.e. no place for anyone to duck and hide). Too spooky for me and I decided we'd better go back ASAP to where we'd left mom and dad. “

October 2, 1942 Queen Mary was involved in an horrendous accident which claimed nearly 330 lives. She rammed her escort vessel the Curacoa. QM had cut in two the Curaco with the ford and aft ends divided by a 100 m strip of ocean. QM was unable to stop and give assistance due to the amount of Americans on board as a troop carrier to the front lines and U-boats supposedly in the area. I wouldn’t doubt is some of those souls are on the Queen Mary holding a grudge on her not stoping to give aid.

Stayed there once in 2011/2012. After just checking in me and the person I was with layed down for about 10 minutes. We then heard several bangs from the closet. I opened it up to find the iron had come off of its hook and fell. But the sound was very loud and it wasn't just one thump from landing on the ground. It was about 3 or 4 loud bangs as if someone was slamming it from side to side before it fell. I knew that was a ghost instantly after seeing that it was impossible for the iron to come off of the hook , let alone bang around that violently. After that about 15 minutes later we heard a quick series of knocks on our door. We were expecting another couple to join us and we thought they were here. About 3/4 seconds after the knocks , I opened the door and no one was there. I looked down the hall and no one was there, at all. I'm convinced it's haunted.

Maybe she was his great-great-grandmother. Or Queen Mary, herself, as a young woman in her 20's. 😅(The way she would have liked to dress in that era)
@SWSimpson
@SWSimpson 7 месяцев назад
I love the 1940s and 1930s fashions. It sounds like great fun to dress up in the era and hang out on the QM. Wish I had been there. One of my stays on the QM, we were upgraded to the Queen Mary Suite. Yes, THE QUEEN MARY SUITE. And, I start calling people, telling them to come. I called my parents, and asked them to guess where I was, and they said, The Queen Mary. And, I said, Yes, but WHERE? They were amazed and excited. We had Erte prints in the entry, and books from the 1930s on the shelves. I asked what kind of wood was covering the walls, and we were told it is Canadian Birds-Eye Maple. We left the ship only one time, and that was to buy some things my out-of-town guest forgot to bring with her when she flew into LAX. And, a friend of mine was at a local bar so we agreed to meet him and another friend there. We convinced them to come to the QM to see our suite (we wouldn't have to take another cab). My friend we met at the bar is terrified of bridges over dark water, but he took a deep breath, and we made it to the QM parking lot. But once we were on the platform that crosses over and into the QM, he was terrified because he would have to walk over dark water. But, we all crossed over and I was going to go back for him, but he ran as fast as he could and didn't stop until he was well into the ship. LOL. We had a wonderful time. I think that was my third time on the QM. Our first night on the QM (before we had guests over on the 2nd night), we were given a private tour of the ship, which included the First Class Swimming Pool, which is closed to the public. I had an experience when walking into the changing rooms. I turned left and walked a few feet, stopped and turned around and then headed in the other direction, passing where I had entered, and then I turned and stepped into a changing booth, turned around, facing outward, and stood there for a few moments until I realized I wasn't breathing. So, I talked myself into taking a giant step forward, which I did. Once outside of that booth, I inhaled audibly and deeply. Our guide asked me what happened, why did I turn around and then walk into this booth? I said that I had no idea, but it was as though I were watching myself do these things. I had no idea why. Then she asked what happened when I stood in that booth, was it a portal? And, I said I didn't know anything about a portal, but I felt pressure on every square inch of my body pressing in, like you would feel in deep water (but I didn't sense that I was in water), and I saw and felt people rushing past me going in both directions and swirling around me - not people, but spirits of people, thousands of them - very fast. When I realized I wasn't breathing, I told myself to step out because it wasn't safe to remain any longer. So, that's when I stepped out. She told me that psychics had said that particular booth was a portal. I told her I am not psychic, but I admit to being intuitive, and I don't know about a portal. All I know is what I could tell her, and the rest was me watching it take place. She gave us directions to go further into the ship, alone, which we did around 3 am. We walked through one room that was pitch black, and all we had were BIC lighters. Once we got to the other side and found a door, we opened it and looked back to see both of our footprints in a thick layer of dust. No one had been in there in decades, it appeared. We were never frightened, and I don't think there are any malevolent vibes or ghosts on the ship. It seems all that are there, for whatever reason, are there first and foremost because they love the ship. The man who was crushed by the water-tight doors, seems to be more of an echo from the past and not something presently occurring - meaning he isn't destined to go on for centuries being crushed by those doors over and over and over again. He isn't in hell. He likely isn't there at all, just an imprint, an echo. If he does come, it would be occasional and not out of sorrow over his own death - he is beyond that and has been at rest since shortly after the accident. It seems he tried to comfort his family after his death but they couldn't see him.

Not on the Queen Mary, but…my sister (doctor) and I (nurse) were walking in the “Bloody Lane” at Antietam. 5,500 men died as the opposing armies fired cannons at each other from 300 feet. Just slaughtered people. My sister and I were taking a short cut back to the visitor’s center, and every step we took, the more uncomfortable we felt. They were watching. They knew we were there, and a doctor and a nurse. We just stopped, and stared at each other. Finally, my sister said, “You’re the one who worked Hospice.” Gee, thanks. I said, very softly, “Yes, she’s a doctor and I am a nurse. We would have helped you all that we could. But the War is long over. Your families and friends, your brothers in arms are waiting on the other side. You’ve left nothing undone, and no one will be upset if you go to them. Call the name of the person you love most, and when they answer, go to them.” The feeling of being watched left, and we walked on to the visitor’s center. You couldn’t pay me to sleep there. Like the Queen Mary, there are people still there who don’t want to go.

Part-Time Explorer I would request a short video on the SS Normandie, the french ocean liner that carried the first operational naval radar and capsized and burned during its conversion to a troop ship in 1942. "SS NORMANDIE INCIDENT 1942" I think the ship has a storied history for only lasting 15 years, and held the blue riband several times, I'm sure you can find ways to make it even more interesting! She most directly rivaled and competed with the RMS queen mary of the cunard line.

Anyone interested watch "most haunted" (a now quiet old BBC show very good, lot of skeptical analyzes of events, debunking events, psychology etc) and there investigation of the QM. That pool area, they filmed wet foot prints coming out the pool (it was empty at that time) and even analyzed the water left behind by these prints, and it was sea water. They photographed some flaming entity running through toilet stalls in the engineering sections etc. Well worth a watch if your interested in supernatural topics and this ship.

Being someone who grew up in an 1860s mining town, I am all to familiar with the occational paranormal experience. Its funny being on the other side of people who are sceptical. You really cant blame them as such things have no place in science or the understanding we have of the world. Once your eyes are opened to your own experiences, the ones told by others also seem more real.

I am the same, I still do not believe in anything like ghosts or any kind of phenomena, I was in a prison one of the oldest prisons in Australia Parramatta prison in Sydney I had 3 years I was 18 and I was a herion addict and the cells are really old like really old, and cold, and the thickness of the sandstone walls was crazy you could not hear anything when the door was locked. I was alone at night and I could hear sounds that sounded like someone was crying and moaning but a horribly maudlin sad and it kept getting louder now I was used to hearing this stuff because I was in 4 other prisons before I got sentenced and it was just inmates going mad or withdrawal from herion I was used to it but it didn't happen at paramatta because it was so old and you couldn't yell to yr cell next door it was silent when that big steel door shuts, and I was just ignored it because I thought it's just like the other prisons but it got louder and I was sure it was in the wall and it was making me angry because I just wanted to sleep, but like he said I was checking all the walls and it seemed to be in the cell, I was not afraid or anything like thst. I'm in prison with real proper threats this was making me angry because it was around 3 am and I went back to bed and it kept going this man I could hear his misery but I just wanted him to stfu. And in winter there the walls would in the early morning hours would have water from the cold outside the dew would be on the floor walls because it was still so old that right up in the top of the cell was a hole for light but it was straight through so you can stick yr arm out so the temperature in winter it's was the coldest prison IV been in and IV been in 7 prisons this was in 92, and I was only at Parramatta for 3 months and of to my permanent prison but they closed it down and the same for Maitland prison which was old as well and a maximum sercruity prison. I don't know if it was my mind, but I had been clean and sober for 9 months by then inside and it was just that one night and I asked if other guys heard the man crying and moaning like a crazy person and they said don't you know it's haunted here this is were they hung people for a long time and you could walk in the building were they used to drop people to death it was just 2 wing and I never noticed till it was shown. Now it's closed it's a tour destination haha and they say it's the most haunted prison or something. I don't believe in thst. I believe I may have had a auditory hallucination idk. It was annoying not scary.

She's a happy old ship that was important to many many thousands of people throughout her long career. None of the hauntings (that weren't made up by Disney) are malicious. Maybe the pool lady was just remembering the fun times she was having. Maybe someone wanted to play a joke with the tour guide and pushed them. Music makes people happy and maybe some echoes of that linger. If the crewman who got crushed haunts the ship he's probably just telling people to be careful. Ghosts may be spooky but from their perspective they're just going about their business. The house I grew up in was very old and had several people who lived there for decades each. Sometimes the stairs would creak sequentially and we'd say "Oh, that's Carlos again. Hi Carlos!" and such for different odd happenings.

While walking along this beach i saw a ship stuck within + its mast. Decided to dig around it found a skull, gold rest of that particular body + ship was intact not much was broken or lost from my view. I picked up the skull because of curiosity it said hi back how are you doing. I tried putting it down instead told me a bit of who they were and why the people ended up here. Freaked me out i gave gold away to 3 people kept 1 myself lost the coin no idea where it is. Theres 10+ I didn’t take or touch. Never been back to that beach since

I felt weird very very fucking weird, it was the size of like a blackhawk but it looked like a drone, the only thing I could clearly make out was a circular figure that had a blade spinning inside of it like what a drone has but 100x the size, it must have been 300 feet above us, it looked like it was camouflaged, or like it was distorting the sky it didn't look real above us, the whole sky just went black, completely fucjing black, no stars couldn't see the moon, it was pitch black all we could see was those lights and massive blade above us

Fantastic video. Love the interview at the start. "Most Haunted" did a session on the Queen Mary. Which was probably one of their better ones, but caught moisture footprints and water as if someone stepped out of the pool. Really great accounts and great you experienced your own. Great way to back up. Great you appreciate other times. I am into 1950's lifestyle it's all rock n roll from top to toe here all the time. When I have gone to do some WW2 crash sites on the Island I played 40's swing on my tablet. My partner Jane was using her phone to record. It also had text of the spoken work. First time she had done an evp session with me and asks "do you feel that" meaning the tingle on your neck you sometimes get when "someone" is around. Next thing she jabs me and points to her phone. Which scrolled the text " hey music boy, play some savoy music" Words we could not here. I had no idea what Savoy music was she looked it up on the tablet and played some...the text started again "Thanks, that was for Wallace". I also heard music from Carisbrooke Castle the one in my video. Music is in your soul, reminds you of certain things, so playing music certainly helps to amp the atmosphere. You did the right thing and got a great reaction. Really funny about freaking those visitors out. Another great channel. Who needs tv with channels like this.
