I've always been so in love with history. It gives me goosebumps to think about how the ancient people once lived in such a beautiful world. How a hundred years ago, they could have walked the exact same streets that exist in ruins today. Thank you for sharing. ❤
It is concerning how people are glorifying this place. I know the architecture is beautiful because it is there from British colonial time but this beautiful architecture holds screams, pain amd tears of thousands and thousands of girls even today. After all, it is still a brothel.
Ok so, first things first tawaifs were in reality never prostitutes so this place was originally not a brothel, tawaifs were learned women with extreme talent in singing, dance and even poetry so much so that affluent nawab families sent their children there to learn from them it was only when the British realised that the place where tawaifs were living was also used to hold meetings and fund for the freedom movements that they reduced those tawaifs to the rank of prostitutes and places like Heeramandi to be brothels, this place should be glorified for the talent it held once but also should be reminder of the cruelty women had to endure, I don’t disagree with your point but I do want you to know that this place has quite a history, both bad and good

Yes, the Pakistani government are missing a tourism trick here. If they restored these beautiful buildings, they could cash in on tourism and trad e will also go up, along with job opportunities for the locals. Many Westerners travel far and wide, to learn about the past in foreign lands and the architecture from the past.

Like my main moto is to visit the indus valley and some other historical sites. Pakistani govt should really get themselves straight, they are ruining Pakistan's growth. Look at it's photos from British era ...it was one of the most happening places in Asia infact Lahore was equally important as Bombay... It's all after partition that Lahore has now faded itself and is entirely pale and not so prosperous unlike olden days

yes that's the real heeramandi in Lahore. Now it's simply a bazzar but you know what it seems quiet scary I mean that architect of those buildings is so much reserved and is just nostalgic ❤
