In my opinion this IAS , IPS and such services are white elephants. Scrap it. They may be competent,but highly arrogent and they work like a clan. You may find it deficult to belive but there is IAS officers Wifes union ,that is more powerful than Priminister of India's office. It is easy to maintain ex - Raja , Maharajas financially but every ISS is a Raja and Maharaja.

UPSC civil service exam is the biggest joke in this country.This exam makes someone eligible to hold such a prestigious position and still people who gets selected are mostly corrupt,lazy and afraid. Mr Ashok Khemka Sir is such a gem and we need saviour like him.

It is very hard to be honest in India. Bribes are a common part of life in India which is a sad and harsh reality. My grandfather was also a very staunch honest government officer but he had to face the music for his honesty a lot. Still he didn't give up in all of his career.Hope we see more courageous officers like him and mr ashokin the future.

I have seen such officers in my career. For every one like him who mess around and mess up there are 10 who work quietly and keep systems going and are honest to boot. All I can say is he ensures he scoots and runs from every position given to him wearing only honesty as a badge of honour.

For those who are wondering about IAS/IPS SALARY Basic pay = 225000 D.A = 38%of basic pay (currently) = 85500 T.A~20000 D.A on T.A~5000 HRA. 18 % of basic pay = 40000 Medical allowance ~ 2000 Special allowance ~ 2000
