Fun fact: Jin is the youngest in his family but took on the oldest bro position when he joined bts. He took care of them and would cook meals for the members using his own money when they ran out of their meal allowance from the company among many other things. He's an introvert but became way more outgoing and talkative so the younger members wouldn't feel as pressured during shows and interviews

Seokjin is the true epitome of having so much quality and potential and once he taps it, he's unstoppable- he started from scratch and then became the most critically acclaimed vocalist of the group, he learned to dance from nothing and yet looks as if he's been doing it his entire life. And honestly out of everyone he is the most realistic, genuine, pure and consistent. He has always been an upright and beautiful person, although sources say Jin was actually someone hard to approach off camera at first and he was quiet and serious but warmed up and became more carefree later. Jin puts in an effort to make people happy by going against his quieter/more reserved side, as he said- making others happy in return makes him happy so he keeps things warm in public for that reason, but in actuality he's extremely intelligent highly educated- he was the only one to graduate from a prestigious university and did this while training to be an idol, Jin excells in everything- even in the military he's managed to be promoted to Corporal faster than his peers, underneath that sweet smile is a sharp individual who knows the world and its ways and chooses to be good and kind.

Yes, outside of performing and interviews, Jin often takes charge of the atmosphere. He keeps the members in line, while also being very lighthearted. RM once mentioned that sometimes when he had a hard time raising concerns for the members to the company, Jin will take over and fought for them. He will be taking the lead on behalf of the members and discuss with the company. I admire him so much because he doesn't have the desire to be the leader, but still support the members behind the scene. He also doesn't play his hyung card that often and very lenient towards them, enabling RM to take charge while providing light-hearted atmosphere for others.

Yes, you definitely got the right vibes from Jin. 😊The only thing that might surprise you is that he's the younger of two sons in his family. All his joking about his looks, his light-hearted manner, and his perpetual smile hide a lot of insecurities and low self-esteem, the result of growing up feeling that his mother favored his older brother and wasn't proud of him. He says he forgets bad things that happened in a few minutes, but that's more a goal than a reality. The lyrics to Awake, Abyss, Tonight, Moon give that away. As for the fight with V, aaaah...It's a sore spot for all Jin fans. V was beyond disrespectful to someone who is not just older than him but who is *the* oldest member in the group, and that is completely unacceptable in Korean culture. It actually infuriates me that Jin apologized. But that's why he deserves everyone's respect. He has always sacrificed his needs or desires in order to do what's best for the group, or for ARMY. He is honestly such an aspiring human, cuz think about it, the man started from zero-training wise-at the age of 20 and is now such a talented singer and dancer who’s a part of the most famous group ever. He did that through sheer dedication and determination. Jin comes off as boastful because of his innate shyness, he talks himself up in order to build confidence within himself and if that makes him seem arrogant to some, who cares, at the end of the day if it really is helping him build his self-confidence then does it really matter? Besides, ARMY knows what Jin is like and where a lot of his humour is specifically timed to either break the ice or put himself at ease. I think you summed up the relationship of RM and Jin's roles very well. Jin has said that at the beginning he felt his performance was very inadequate and he didn't want to let his brothers down (who he saw as being so much more talented than him). He worked incredibly hard to improve his singing and dancing. Now we think of him as silver voice Jin. His singing and his songs are amazingly beautiful. When I think of what a wonderful voice he developed it makes me think we could all do better at things.

He was always treated as the youngest until he joined BTS and had to take on the role of eldest hyung for the members for the first time. He's really open-minded and great at taking care of them. He doesn't impose any age-based authority on them and you're right that he's RM's counterpart in leadership when it comes to things outside of work like dorm life, cooking, driving, and etc. Yoongi shared that role too. They were the mom and dad in the dorms when they lived together. But Jin's extremely young-minded, childlike, and playful just like the maknae Jungkook! They get along the best and are the most chaotic together. There's a running joke in BTS that Jin's the actual maknae of the group because of how childish he likes to be. They always tell him to act his age lol but I love him just as he is!!

Like all of other members in BTS, he did not have extraordinary skills in dancing and singing, but trained. By the time they got to debut, they all acquired skills to be idols. The rest is BTS history...💜

And I think it's good since this gives namjoon some breathing space. He can give up his duties & just focus on being a younger one. Not worry about taking care of things all the time

There's a major difference between changing someone's perception and changing someone's base character. Jin was talking about the former, you're talking about the latter. An example of what Jin is talking about is someone thinking that BTS is a typical Western style boy band and then hearing their music and getting to know their personalities and then realizing that they aren't at all a typical Western boy band. That's changing the person's perception of who and what BTS is. He's not talking about changing THEM, just changing their mind.

Jin is from BigHit Entertainment but JIN is JinHit Entertainment because he marches to his own drum beat which makes him more lovable in his ways. He is often seen as happy but becomes serious when serious is needed.

I just wanted to clear up your perception that a leader in a group not being the oldest was more common than you thought- It wasn't like that before BTS. Pre 2013 there were some groups that had leaders of that group who were not the oldest.. but it was pretty rare still. Even within the first few years of BTS it was pretty rare... up till about 2016 when they started winning and gaining massive global popularity. After that- specifically in 2018 to now... more and more groups have been debuting with a leader who isn't the oldest member of that group. Stray kids, TXT, Enhypen, even girl groups not having a leader who is the oldest has been more common in these 4th Gen and even upcoming 5th Gen groups. BTS made this ideal, made these companies open up their minds a bit to the idea of not following the typical Korean hierarchy of the oldest has the most authority- Which was the norm pre BTS. It's easy to forget about the hierarchy when that's not your culture, but to Koreans, it is their culture and I think that's why it wasn't common. The idea a younger person could keep an older person 'in line' or tell them their schedule, or wake them up and seemingly make demands? Make choices on their behalf? That wasn't normal so it shouldn't be done. However once BTS became more global, that's when these company heads started paying attention. Just wanted to correct you on that because I think you enjoy groups that are more 4th Gen and pre-BTS who do have leaders who are not the oldest. So it comes off as being more common. But it wasn't and overall it still isn't that common. Thanks for the reaction. Jin is indeed an admirable person. A diamond in the rough so to speak. back in pre-debut days I thought I might have had a bias, but I quickly learned once BTS started doing vloggs in late 2012 and early 2013 that there was no way I was having a bias (of course I also thought I was OT6... because we didn't know about V/Tae till the official lineup / promotion pics were released). 💜
