It's so ironic that Sonny was so honourable, accepting his fate and not running to the FBI, and yet Joe Massino who becomes Boss turns informant and tells on everyone.

I think the story was feds were trying to make Sonny Black flip because his life was over at that point. Got to give it to those old gangsters, they definitely had some balls.

The way you can narrate a video with all the facts and dates is the most impressive part of these. I used to think you had to be reading from a pre-written script or sheet with data points, but then I saw the camera on you as you finished this video and you don't. Unreal and great work MDC!

Sonny Black was a true gangster for sure. The movie is a must watch as hearing the the FBI audio files on it, Al Pacino and Johnny Depp definitely nail the roles. One of the best mob movies made. Great video Mooney.

This is an interesting story, I can only imagine how Joe Pistone must have felt afterwards. I know it was only a job & everyone got what was coming to them. But Pistone literally lived with these guys for several years I just wonder what ran thru Pistone’s head after this all went down. Excellent reporting as always!

The one i`ve been waiting for awesome video Mooney Donnie Brasco is one of my all time fav mob movies a movie classic, fantastic to see the actual location and characters involved it surprises me how pistone never got killed in fact i saw an interview with joe were he said he was at a sitdown and was nearly exposed and got into a fight with a made man i`m guessing it would only have been a matter of time before he got whacked there`s a scene in the movie were three Bonano captains got killed Philip Giaccone, Dominick Trinchera and Aphonse sonny red Indelicato you should check the story out . Your video was one of your best so far mooney and just for the record joe pistone was asked who he feared most in all his time as undercover agent he said " Tony Mirra " thanks mooney brilliant video look forward too the next one .

I saw an interview with Joe Pistone earlier this year. Michael Franzese actually interviewed him on his channel & they're reportedly pretty tight. I can only imagine the amount of pressure Pistone was under with having to play the role for like 6 years for this undercover assignment, and being away from his family pretty much the whole time except for an occasional visit. At one point, I believe his wife was in a near fatal car accident during that time & he could only go see her in spurts, but she pulled through. Anyway, unfortunate mistake for Sonny Black, but fortunate ending for Pistone. I was dying laughing when you said people have been commenting on your hair! Hair, makeup & outfit are just fine! LOL! Always is. Thanks again for another great video. Hi Truck & feel better soon Mooney!

One thing that broke joe up was the message sonny told his wife to tell joe. She contacted joe after sonny died and gave the message "im not mad at all. If it had to be somebody, im just glad it was you". Either on hotboxing, franzese's podcast or maybe wvlad (i think it was mike tysons hotboxing) when joe retold that story his voice cracked up. Despite what he says, clearly it devastated him that sonny was murdered. He flat out says he genuinely loved sonny so obviously you cant be responsible for a man you became extremely close with getting wacked and not be all FCKD up about it.

...I grew up a few blocks from the Motion Lounge..I worked in a local store as a delivery boy and SAW the FBI surveillance van a block away from the ML...neighborhood changed a lot!!!...
