I think all the residence there are just in renting... they moved to city center to get near to their job then they started make family....so the improvement of the place will depends on the building owners and the a bit organised and somewhat cleaned areas as just initiatives of the renters.

We now use a gimbal to help eliminate shaking in the videos with our Mavic Pro drone and looking for another for our cell and hand camera, you will note in this video that it can make you a bit dizzy. It really makes videos quite stable. Good ones are spendy.

The previous governments did not have any support for its people like cheap decent housing, postal services, quality roads, sewage disposal systems and garbage disposal systems. People had to do everything by whatever means they can making all structures and systems substandard. The government was too busy with corruption. It ruined the Philippine culture and society and environment. They have to spend their thoughts and energy on putting food on the table so animal welfare is not that important.

Just to put in perspective the income/money. The average wage in the Philippines is 450PHP per day. That's 9 US dollars. This is why you have so many Filipino working overseas and sending money back. It's also why us foreigners can live like kings there if you know your way around. Awesome video Pare ;)

Hi I found this interesting thanks I have a theory about the raised cess pit, with torrential rain and resultant flooding you dont want standing water on the top that could potentially flood and fill the pit up Does that sound plausible?

Good video content. I have seen all you show and I'm not much interested in Cebu area but if I were, I would subscribe to your channel. It could be Danao just off the main highway as it looks much the same. The small motorcycles where you shift gears also have centrifical clutch, they will take off in any gear but it will wear the clutch out if too high a gear. The gears on the centrifical clutch chain driven motorcycles are constant mesh so you don't need to disengage a clutch when shifting, just let off the gas, if anything. The gears are usually all "down" and there is a gear indicator on the instrument cluster. "Hand Clutch" motorcycles usually have a premium price. Automatic scooters have a CVT belt driven automatic transmission. Good luck with your channel!

Seems no different than when I visited Indonesia around this same time frame. The people are so warm and friendly there as well. I'm planning on retiring in the Philippines in 2020.

That looks like the place where my aunt and family lives, it's not the worst place. It's actually really pretty if you look a it in a way. It's not that bad and I miss it. *I wanna go back to the Philippines ;-;*

This video reminded me of something important towards the end. It may not affect you, but I stopped using powdered laundry soap years ago! Some folks I know go even further, choosing dye, and fragrance free liquid. There aren't a lot of choices at regular stores(S&R has most everything COSTCO carries), but most places have at least liquid Tide. I forgot about my "sensitivities", and ended up with some pretty awful crotch rot! Be sure whomever does your clothes uses LIQUID, even if you have to buy it, and supply it personally. Even if you don't have issues at home in the west, remember they are washing BY HAND, and likely with luke warm water at best! YMMV! Loved the flow and content of the video, btw! You're no Marlin Perkins, but I found your work interesting, and informative!

This is a 3 th world country and most of the people really cannot afford to live even in middle class subdivisions in towns or cities. Although they are very happy for what they have! I`ve passed this street several times and great to see your folks live there. Couples for Christ is a big part to count your blessings! :)

That's an old town and quite laid back. Feature also some new housing which are more modern and organize communities/subdivisions being developed for the new generation

As you said, they do have building codes, it's just not strictly implemented. This area you've been to may be a squatters area where people living there don't own the land. They build however they want and the building officials don't care. That's why you see those unsafe/unsanitary water or electric lines all over the place and houses built close to each other, no setbacks whatsoever. Problem with squatters - politicians such as mayors, councilors, etc. tolerate these BECOZ they are their potential VOTERS during elections. It's a sad state of affairs of Philippine politics. The population bears the brunt of their selfish decisions particularly the indigent folks.

there's a lot of poverty here in the USA also. Go to downtown Los Angels, Parts of Oklahoma, Seattle. Heck a lot are what you call hidden squatters but more open now .. Interesting isn't it?

This is more of a congested city area. A country video would look just as humble but at least be spacious and show off how fertile the country is.

Every country has it good, bad and really ugly part. People sometime watches videos of others countries and usually see the horrible part and start making assumption about the country. We have some neighborhood within the united state that looks worst than a third world slum..

To make? Not sure about that xD because rent is around 300$ for a decent 2 bed and 2 bath place and 700$ for a 4 bed nice home rent.

The way they live absolutely astounds me visited in August 2017 never saw so much filth grunge and garbage as I did when I was in the Philippines

The US dumps pollution in its rivers too especially in coal mining states and old factory towns.

Cleanliness is mandatory everywhere in Manila except where the garbage mountain is. Even people where poverty is located their Barangay are instructed to clean everyday. You’re in an area that needs more help cleaning up. You go outside the city houses are beautiful and well taken care of. Peace ✌🏼

This a pretty good video on this country; I've been here 10 ys; It is a drop-off from any 1st world country in many ways but you gain in many many ways from the same 1st world countries; in living life here; It would take me 3 days to explain all the good\bad points; I've been here 10 yrs and can not live in a 1st country ever again; Just too many rules and laws there along with the high cost of basic living; ---- Santo Niño is an image of the baby Jesus; That statue is not an idol; Ferdinand Magellan gave this small statue to 'Rajah' Humabon of Cebu when he landed in the 1521; This was the start of Christianity here; The original image is still here on display along with the cross of Magellan; Seeing that cross I had heard about my entire life, was really a moving event for me; -- At 16:55 you mention Arkansas and Tennessee? Please, do not put the Razorbacks with a bunch of Hillbillies again, OK? -- The Philippines were the leading country in this part of Asian after the USA gave them their freedom right after WW2, but they went static somewhere through the yrs and have not progressed much in the last several decades; In comparison, the USA has not progressed since the turn of the century either and we are actually regressing now due to our rebumpkin leaders that the south keeps electing through their ignorance; This is all urban video; The providences are a little different but the same; What is in the providences?
