I've been pushing C rank with my Terran but even in D rank I either play major smurfs or people with 60 APM. It's not that often I encounter someone at my level, they're either way above me or way below me. I always end up playing a pretty middle of the road style to account for how unpredictable any given game is.
Maybe people who game then wouldn't be such pu33ies then. The modern gaming community makes me sick 🤢 🤮 in fact I quit playing video games for about 6 years for my own sanity
"That guy who just won (the winner) is such a loser." - Artosis (the guy who lost, in other words, the loser of the game) At least Artosis has reached the pinnacle of mental gymnastics because you literally can't spin reality any further than that. Fuck me I love this channel
sometimes, I think Arty would become an ascended human being if he picked ANYTHING else as his job other than playing Brood War all day. he was so chill, relaxed, even pleasant before the stream started.
His job has him repeatedly do something that makes him angry while a writhing swarm of onlookers criticizes his every move and posts the most crazy and obscene things they can think of to torture him. It would be fun to watch him, say, play an adventure game, but that wouldn't work when constantly poked out of focus and immersion by a Twitch audience, and doubly so with an audience like that.
Arty I see a huge potential in your natural, sarcastic style commentary on some of the top tier Terran games (like Flash). Could you just do one for the lols please? :)
I remember back in the day the ladder also sucked, so there were leagues like pgtour and wgtour. I even placed bottom B in wgt (as pgt had terrible latency where I live). Aren't there any such custom leagues now and why?
i mean playing vs random in sc2 is annoying but in broodwar it's like you want to flip tables all day basically just because in sc2 there haven't been any 4 player maps for years in the 1v1 map pool anymore
Wow ascension is a fan made version of World of Warcraft that is amazing, at some point can the SCBW community make their own version of SC ladder that is fun and works?
It's not even all ins, it's smurfing. There are so many 400 apm players in C rank. A lot of A and S rank smurf into B Rank too. Even Snow has a B and A rank acount that he messes around on.
@@zarvoxtoral9926 Yeah it's a lot of smurfs. Most of the casual players are around D or C rank. The good players that are around Artosis' skill are in low A rank. So for example I'm stuck around B rank even though Skill wise I'm absoluetly around A rank level. Pretty sad actually. Most players are 1 rank lower than their actual skill level. Even Pros usually have 2 or 3 Keys with 3 acccunts each
Use to play Overwatch where smurfs had to buy a copy per smurf account. Now they switched to Overwatch 2 where smurfing is free, but name change cost like 10$
If you know who he is and you know what he does against you and he does it every single time then why don't you.... Stay with me, it's not rocket science... Why don't you counter that build "blindly" from the get go? But then if that was to happen and Artosis was to accept this way of life, would he really be Artosis the Terran as we know? I don't think so. You're free to copy this message as an Arto dono spam or in the chat.
Starcraft, like all RTS games, is inherently luck based. Thats why it can be frustrating. True skillcap games, like Quake Live for instance, removes almost all luck from the game, so it's much easier to progress to your actual rating relative to other players.
Exactly man. To prove this, Artosis should set up a series of show matches between his wife, and Scan. Obviously his wife will win a substantial number of games due to how luck based Brood War is! lol the self delusion of Artosis fans is truly fascinating.
@@NewBruh-px6xt Yea. Absolutely. I mean, if you trained your grandma on how to click a few dozen times on the screen, after a few days, maybe a week, she could easily lay down 3 prox rax outside enemy base, who triple expanded, and she runs in attack move with 12 marines that wasn't scouted and she wins. She wins against ANYONE. Flash, Maru, Seral, it doesnt matter. Cos blind counters exist. And its impossible to scout the entire map every single game. Understand? YOUR GRANDMA CAN BEAT YOU AT STARTCRAFT NEXT WEEK. Even after you've spent your entire fucking life playing the game, learning 20 build orders for each race, tens of thousands of hours gametime, ranked top 10 in your country - DOESNT MATTER! Your GRANDMA ... CAN BEAT YOU ... AT THE GAME. Ergo. Luck is a massive factor in RTS games, particularly in fast paced RTS games like SC. OR TELL ME. Am I lying? Now. Do you think your grandma will ever beat me at Quake Live? I could play her 10,000 times and beat her 50-0 every single time. Why? Cos no luck factor, outside of initial spawn. Quake is like chess. SC 2 is like monopoly. With lots and lots of dice.
@@TheVanillatech it's interesting though, why doesn't arty ever (literally) beat people like scan or snow? Obviously the skill difference shouldn't matter due to Brood War outcomes being entirely luck based. Hmm
the real problem is that its an acnient solved game, there are no new metas there is nothing to do but the same op strategies because anything else u wont win with because its a completely solved game
This is a wild comment when Artosis has literally just been casting dozens of games where Flash returns to the game, tinkers with his builds and immediately causes the meta to shift in response
U dont get it,most people use maphack... its not that he got lucky. And yes u will GET rushed every time u try to CC first... but its not because of ur bad luck, its because ur oponent can literally see where u spawned... and what are u doing.
@@lambda6736 never forget. if you are 1.5k mmr, and your opponent is 1.5k mmr, even if opponent is 100% a hacker, they're 50% to win vs you. Otherwise they wouldn't be 1.5k mmr (they would have risen above if they have a >50% win rate vs 1.5k players). Complaining about hackers/cheaters/imbalance is one of the top ways to never improve and become the definition of a scrub gamer
@@JonasVieth-eo8zq uh...what? Ever heard of 'tossing' games? I don't have time to play anymore, regardless. Treating losses analytically and putting blame where it makes sense is a completely different issue, not sure why you felt the urge to say that. The ladder has cheaters at all ranks. Losing an actual straight up game is a different matter entirely.
@@lambda6736 just saying that people who choose to focus on how unfair the ladder is (cheaters/imbalance/terran underpowered etc) never improve, it's a complete waste of mental resources. For example Artosis is currently streaming and is B rank, he plays for a living for the better part of a decade, but he chooses to focus all his mind on how unfair the world is. People who are 2600+ get there because they focus on improving their play - you'll never hear any top player constantly complaining, they too busy focusing their mind on improving
@@JonasVieth-eo8zq 1) I agree that taking responsibility for your gameplay is how you get better, its entirely unclear why you keep elaborating. 2) Artosis floats between C and S depending on how bad of a day it is; while I don't actually think the salt is good for improvement, he is a much better player than I ever will be AND he has to make a living. Broodwar is a very knowledge and execution reliant game, it takes pros nearly a decade to go from "amateur" to a consistent professional.
