Unless, daughters' boyfriend competed in Judo, while studying Tae Kwon Do, and Hapkido from age eight. Dad's strength does have an expiration date. Remain vigilant; yet, humble.
@@teresas.3979 Thank you for your response, time, and consideration. Don't underestimate any human being. I know you are joking, regarding President Joseph Biden. Regardless of how I feel about President Joseph Biden and/or Former President Donald Trump, I respect the position. G-D placed President Joseph Biden and Former President Donald Trump in office. It is easy to criticize President Joseph Biden and Former President Donald Trump. We are entitled to criticize our President. If conservative citizens don't demonstrate humility, prudence, temperance, and love, the next four years will be worse, than the previous four years.
@einkartoffel4323 One could reasonably argue that that particular gardener could very easily claim the title of warrior after defending that friend from a prehistoric monster spider, then leading a rescue mission while outnumbered into an enemy stronghold, AND succeeding.
dad strength is real. My teenage boys are always in awe when their 54 year old dad out performs them. Wrestling, post hole digging, running etc. Keep it up.
Nick thanks for being everyone’s dad on RU-vid. Legit is making men out of boys with a coffee mug and morals with clips. Big fan of the podcast as well.
Old man aka Dad strength is a real thing. I'm 45, my 4 kids are between10 and 18. The oldest is 4 inches taller, 15 lbs heavier, and both squats and deadlifts more than me. He's we started martial arts together when he was 8, and he can't figure out how I still whup him. Pain don't hurt mean old men. The younger boys can still be tickled to death.
Youth and exuberance are no match for old age and treachery. Not only is dad more experienced in all things, not only has dad’s muscles had decades of repetitious use so he knows exactly how to use them, but dad has been watching you everyday of your life. He knows how you think and react and has been subtly training small behaviors into you, but also he has run scenarios in his mind to anticipate how you are going to get uppity for years.
@jlaws007BD By the time you hit your expiration date, you'll have raised the next generation of responsible adults who will not only look after their own, but others as well.
I remember my grandfather used to wield a chainsaw like it was an extension of his arm. Just fluid and smooth. He always seemed skinny but that man was made of Iron. I once borrowed the chainsaw and was shocked about how heavy it was, and I pumped iron 4 days a week. So, I agree, that dad strength doesn't disappear.
I'm in awe of a man that spent his entire life working in mines of almost any description. He was a short skinny guy not weighing more than 85 lbs, but he could spend all day using a hard rock jackhammer drill that weighed 105 lbs, and at times he would have to use it 8 - 9 feet above the floor at an angle for hours. Never complained. My wife and I would sit on his porch and listen to he and his wife about the life they had growing up. Dang I miss that old guy.
@@corvettefever360 You do have a: Best by date tho 📅 I past mine about 20 yrs ago at 🤔 43 but at 6'4 and 210 lbs no one seems in a hurry to prove it haha 😂😂😂💪
Yep. I'm 61 and do obstacle course races and drag my 30 year old son with to remind him that while I can't do everything as good as him I can do it ALL DAY!! 😅
I'm in my mid 40s as well. I work with 20 year olds doing hard labor. I do NOT have the endurance that they do. But when straight up strength is needed, I'm the one that does it. That's not trying to gloat, that's just the facts. A 20 year old who's never worked hard before is putbup against 30 years of experience doing hard work; they just don't have the time in.
Dad strength!! Yeah it's a REAL thing!! My family says that I have the Dad LOOK!! They know not to test what's connected to the other end of that look!!
I've always heard it referred to as "old man strength", and the guys I worked with who talked about it came by the knowledge forcefully: they were feeling their oats and decided to test that with their fathers, and it didn't go well for them.
Our family does Martial Arts and it's definitely created a bond that no other 'exercise' or sport has. It's 4 ladies and 3 gentlemen and we all love it, even when we weren't in the mood to go, we always feel better after.
It's a higher standard than is normally seen. You are a born leader. Am so glad you're in government, and these humorous skits are loaded with great ideas,by spirit and in truth. Thank you from all of us out here in tv land! Please keep doing what you do.
@@luckpeddler Right ? That's perhaps the kind Biden should stick to 🤣😂😂 People who jogged daily, would keep pestering me: When are you gonna run with us ? I'd always answer the same: That's why they invented cars for, (I was a young idiot, so would point at my bed) 👇 and those 🙄😂😂
Every exercise bike should be producing some level of electricity to go somewhere, charging dock, small devices, battery bank. Instead a lot of treadmills and exercise bikes use electricity... for their motors and computers... just plain stupid.
You are lucky that you are able to do that. I have 3 back problems, and they start with severe. I was in great shape 10 years ago and then "surprise" no more anything, so have fun and stay in shape
@@rudyg528 Yup 3 Spinal Lamenectomies here: 1 on L4-L5 and 2 on L5-S1 and that was the killer. Of course I have good day's and bad days, but those bad one's can keep me bedridden !! If not for all the martial Arts training in the 80's I hate to think of where I'd be now 😬
Mrs. B here, dad strength is real. My dad in law had serious grip strength that could make even the strongest wince a bit until literally his last breath. Everything else failed him but grip strength. 💪🏼
Cause it's fun. Yeah, it's tough. Yeah, it'll kick your butt some day, and I've never expected to be the best or compete professionally. But I have a blast doing it, I get to blow off some steam, and I feel better physically and mentally after a good day at the MMA gym. It's also a great place to teach about the self control and violent confrontations. Plus, if you've been in a ring with a retired professional boxer who is barely exerting himself and still dodges everything you throw at him and can tap you whenever he wants. You're not going to go rush out and get in a fight.
Yup Nick, that's exactly why I never did "any" of that cardio crap. Back in the day MMA hadn't become what is has, so like you said (me & my best friend) would practice Muay Thai, Tai Chi, Greco Roman, and yes Brazilian + a couple of other's. From the time the bar's closed, till often Sun-up. I'd be exhausted, and when we first began (I'll be 63 in 75 days), and then found I had strength in places I never knew existed. Yet more than that, my body would react to an impending attack. Without me even thinking about it 😮 For an old man, "grandpa" I've maintained my young looks (outside of my hair getting gray/white)😂 Still I'm one people avoid, altho I never went looking for a fight 😅 It's like a gun, the bad guys see it, and they'll seek another target 😉💯
@@teresas.3979 nope. I respect a lot of people who couldn't hurt me if they wanted to. Unfortunately, gang mentality has caused brain rot amongst the general population. If true respect was fear driven, mutual respect would not exist.
When I was a Senior in HS, by buddy Curt was over and he started goofing around and play fighting with my dad, who was born in 1936 and had been a farmer, a rancher, a sheep sheerer, and a soldier as a young man. My dad asked him if he really wanted to play. Now Curt was State Champion Wrestler for 155lb weight class, but when my dad got a grip on him he knew he was done. This was 1981 and he tapped out of the fight before that was even in the lexicon. When you see an old man, don't just assume you can mess with him, he might have spent 50 years doing things you aren't capable of.
@@williamobraidislee3433 being able to avoid fights has allowed me to never miss a day of work. Lots of people respect me. And I see you skipped the whole first part of my comment.
O..M..G....DAD strength is a real thing with no expiration date. I'm in tears.. let me back you up on that Nick my dad's 85 and I still wouldn't f**k with him.....love it😅
And i mean that with the utmoat respect given. I love my father to tbe core. They didnt break the mold on that generation, they simply ran out of the barbed wire concrete and reinforced steel it took to build those Men, and the 3nd rate material used now a day...well need i say more. POWER TO THE REAL FATHERS
Hell yeah...!!! it's a real thing. Being Dad is the best and the most genuine experience, but there's nothing more real than Dad strength.... it's a good gut laugh..!!!😂
Our 14 and 15 year old sons thought they could take down their dad who is a disabled vet. They learned really quickly that dad strength exists. Lol! Their eyes got about as wide as plates when he picked them up and took them to the ground 🤣
When I was in high school my Father did kickboxing with me. Some of the best times I ever had were training with him. Also yeah that Dad's strength is no joke 😂😂
One of our sons challenged my husband when he was about 15, with our other son looking on. He was just joking, but it looked like a good opportunity. My husband was a wrestler in high school, but was not into sports anymore so the boys really didn't know what to expect. In about 2 seconds my son was pinned on the floor. He looked up and grinned and said, "I got you right where I want you, Dad!" Once in a while it's good to prove Dad still has it!
I am 54 years old, and my 22 - 26 year old sons will not challenge dad. They were raised right and do not challenge me, but occasionally they do get cocky and need to be reminded!
I have anger issues so finding something I can do to keep my anger in check is a great way to keep my anger off my family and it shows my two sons that no matter how big they think they are they don't want to piss daddy off 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I took crisis intervention train a couple years ago. I also train BJJ on/off. Last month I took my 7 year old boy to soccer practice, at the time we used city transit. We almost got jumped by a drunk. It was kinda crazy how quickly your mind assesses a situation. Hands were up, ready, but open. Less threatening. I was able to de-escalate by latching onto the fact that he had kids. "You have kids? Tell me about them. How many do you have? How old are they?" He responds and I go "hey you seem like you're having a bad day. Do you need a smoke Ive got a smoke right here for you bud." Before he answers I'm passing him one and lighting for him. Got him away from the boy, have my own cigarette. We spoke a moment and thankfully the bus arrived so i butted out and got the fuck out of there. I was very blessed. Not only did all those lessons kick in. But I was INCREDIBLY lucky. Certainly said a prayer and a half that night.
Love it.❤😂 I took Tae Kwon DO in my mid thirty best ever. My teen son and daughter were black belts and they were my instructors. And they were not easy on little momma either. Best ever time of my life. Staying in shape is living life to its fullness and a bike going nowhere gives me the hibbi-jibbies.
In my late 50's. It's boxing for me. Boxed as a teenager and into my 20's. My kids have left home and my son has the wingspan of an albatross so no sparring with him anymore. My wife, however... that's a different story entirely. She's an exponent of Mike Tyson's peek-a-boo style and has a mean jab, right-hook, left-uppercut combo. Think I'll go see if there are any dishes that need doing.
Seen online. “Jiujitsu noun 1) The gentle art of folding clothes while people are still in them. 2) Involuntary yoga” I felt it was an appropriate definition.
Yes , adrenaline strength is real. It can magnify strength already present in the individual or give the strength burst needed at that time. P S Being between a Mom and her baby Is usually not a safe place for anyone. However , there are exceptions , hence the word usually in place to acknowledge exceptions.
I started hiking around a lake near my place while listening to audiobooks. I love it. Im never going on an elliptical to no where again and never paying a gym fee.
I just want to offer a story about the "Dad Strength" comment. I am the youngest of 3 children. My brother is the oldest, and is 16 years older than myself. When my father was in his early 40's my brother, being all of 22 thought he could get uppity with our father, and the struggle took them into the front bathroom with my father putting him through a wall and subsequently bending the towel rack that was on the wall concaved inward. Fast forward another ~15 years, when that house was sold my mother dismounted that towel rack (with the dent still in it) and remounted it in the front bathroom of the new house that my parents moved into out in the country. When I asked why (being now in my 20's) my mother stated so that my brother can always be reminded what happened the last time he got into it with my father. 🤣
