Apparently Christina was close friends with one of the writers Jenna Bans as well so I am sure any input Christina had on certain actors screen time was taken seriously. Dean should have died when Rio shot him… or at the very least moved out so we didn’t have to see him so much. The series is just about over and they’re spending SO much time on the stupid MLM storyline it’s beyond annoying lol

I actually like the humour brought by Annie & Ruby and I believe they're an integral part of the show. I love their characters just as much as I love Rio's. And all their stories are what made the show what it is. The skin care brotherhood though was awfully unnecessary

sorry the series got canceled. rio might not have been a main character but he was the catalyst to everything that happened in the show. he was the lebowski's rug of characters, he really tied things together.
I disagree, he overstayed his welcome. He should have been the villain for a season or two, and have the trio move up the crime ladder, braking bad style, with bigger villains. The show fell into the housewife crushing on bad boy trope, and it suffered for it, so many wasted opportunities to have these badass female crime lords on screen. Instead they focused on Beth blushing over a murderer calling her "b.tch", and never moved beyond that. The good girls literally have no agency besides the first robbery and the show is a montage of these women begging rio not to kill them.

Im not gonna lie I really enjoyed this show but not for beths sister and and her friend. There were a lot of episodes in the first two seasons I caught myself skipping their screen time. Mostly watched for the interactions with Rio regardless of who is was with. I just hope this finally episode has some sort of closure to the series good or bad.
It made me uncomfortable the way Christina imitated Manny. I have an accent and a "friend" did it to me in front of people and I felt SO SMALL. It's not funny to mock people. Rio's character is such a focal point! His character took the show to new heights and there's nothing wrong with fans enjoying that!

Its so clear he was the SOLUTION not the problem...I think also they didn't want a man of colour/bad boy character overshadowing the "leads"...however its not Mannys fault he has more presence and depth in the 30 seconds he gets every episode, than all the leads combined. He is amazing at doing a lot with the little he's given. He needs to be on a show that shows him off and actually gives him screen time instead of using him for views. Plus Christina Hendricks gives bad vibes...the whole "he calls me Chris" thing was so weird. And pretending to vomit at the way he says "Elizabeth" ...so childish. So unnecessary. I'm not mad it got cancelled...we'll be seeing Manny Montana on our screens again soon.
Manny played one of my favorite characters he seemed like a reality check for the girls whenever they did some Reckless shit he showed em they’re not untouchables and there’s consequences for their actions if they don’t move smart
The "Mandingo'd" him. He was the sauce, the hot, the sexy and he made Beth (played by a wonderful Ms. Hendricks) hotter and sexier than her bland character was drawn. So of course he is the reason why the ship is sinking. The other characters don't bring much to the enjoyment of the show. Mr. Montana was it. He elevated the show. I hope Netflix or Amazon picks the show up and the the gloves will be off.

wrong, this show was cancelled because it was awful. for the love of hellen, beth was self destructive, did stupid things and screwed her relationship with rio instead of just embrassing her criminal nature and becoming a full on criminal. if you cross a line by robin a damn bank, embrass being a criminal and maybe in your old age repent and dye knowing you go to heaven. i'm six episodes into season 4 and i can't stand beth ratting out rio to the cops and messing up. to hell with the show, manny montana deserves better
Season 1 was good and after that plotlines became convoluted. I’m at the end of season 2 and that might be it for me. The premise of the show of suburban moms becoming desperate (like Desperate Housewives) gave me Felicity Huffman vibes too. I started to be really turned off. The only character I could understand her predicament was Ruby for having a sick child and the medical system being unfair. Manny Montana’s acting is stellar and I didn’t realize he was a fan favorite but can see it now. It’s definitely not Manny why the show got canceled it was the writing. And I was always wondering why the hell did they write Dean back in when he was definitely on his way out and now I see it was Christina’s doing. If anything, she got the show cancelled for that move right there because the first two seasons were fantastic. So unfortunate.

Just finished Good Girls season 4 and I am very annoyed at NBC. Good for Manny for holding on to his guns. Shame on NBC to throw him under the bus. He is the glue that binds the whole thing together. A very charismatic actor. I look forward to seeing more of him elsewhere. BTW, I was fan of Christina Hendricks from Man Men, before I was Manny's from this series. But I gotta say, her imitation of his way of talking makes me uncomfortable and I am not so sure how much of a fan I am of her anymore now.
The show was a great idea that just fell apart with poor writing and no character development. Beth became increasingly unlikeable, Dean showed zero real redemption in his character and it seemed the writers tried to push this, Annie was a mess repeating the same mistakes with men - couldn’t she have grown?, Manny Montana is a good actor and a sexy guy - but I couldn’t like him after he shot Lucy, Ruby and Stan were so dynamic is the first 2 seasons and then it was like they became pod people who’s actions made no sense (Stan loved being a cop a gave up going back?! - couldn’t he have gone back and moonlighted at the strip club? Lots of cops moonlight for extra cash, Ben had such a great arc in Season 1 (another good actor) and then they failed to continue exploring his character and he became flat. I found this show so disappointing after such a solid start.
People have no respect for actors. It’s not like we live and breathe just to portray characters. Yes that’s our job but we have lots of things outside of that and we have a life. People are entitled to leave if they’re not getting what they need/want.

The show went downhill since Beth shot Rio. I think it would have been better to kill him then and start fresh. Because the whole storyline of Beth trying to get him kill or caught the last couple seasons was very boring. Even for him to let her do whatever for so long it doesn't make sense. He has other people to do work for him. In the first season he had a whole factory to make fake money and now he can't do it without her. I think this season was better. I thought it has potential with the fbi, the cousin/brother and even Dean's new pals. I feel like these boys are after Rio's business and that their pyramid scheme is a way to launder money.
When a show gets a fifth season, the entire cast and main players in the crew are supposed to get a bump in pay. The show did awesome on streaming but not on regular television.
I watched for Ruby, Stan and Rio because they were the most real. Beth was the most unlikeable. After Lucy an innocent bystander to their criminal act was murdered, Beth seemed the most unaffected. The writers could have redeemed her humanity by trying to bring justice by bringing down Rio. But, the shit got silly with the dumb, dumber and dumberest FBI characters. I disliked the finale, Beth got away with everything. And I don't know a Black woman that would leave her man for a friendship that have your freedom dangling on a slender thread, what about the love for her daughter who had a transplant and possible rejection of the kidney she received; Ruby make no sense. I hope there are spin off for Rio, Stan and Ruby. Stan's actor just signed with a new agent.
Honestly i didnt watch the show when it first cane out but thanks to RIO TIKTOK, i watched it . 😂But, at times i did want to turn it off because i didnt see enough of rio. But i think thats what the audience wanted more of rio and more of rio and beth . I dont blame him for not wanting a pay cut, just cause everyone else agreed dont mean he had too. I know the show isn’t technically suppose to be about Rio n Beth its about the girls, but is women know what we want and thats RIO! I wanted to see Rio and beth fall for each other more. Aside from the Ladies, Manny Montana's character RIO adds excitement to the show and I enjoy the dynamics he had with Christina Hendricks "Beth" It was a disappointment when the show " Good Girls" was axed. It would be nice to see the characters evolve in Season 5 especially Beth and Rio. Honestly, it was a Good series that's should be given a chance to be aired again. Regardless of what others say, MANNY MONTANA is the STAR of the show and the reason why we are hooked.

what the writers should have done was make beth and dean divorce so then Dean is out of the picture and Manny Montana can get Matthew Lilliard's salary and the best part about it is when Dean is gone we can see more of Brio
The first season was amazing. After that I think the whole thing went downhill and was repetitive. The girls always being broke despite living a criminal lifestyle. Rio threatening them all the time. The whole Rio/Beth/Dean dynamic. I would have liked to know what ending they had planned but I feel like it would have just been more of the same.

This show and storyline had major potential. To underutilize the show’s best attraction, Rio, was a bust. They could have given Beth ANY AT ALL character development instead of making her more and more unlikable. So many unnecessary branches in storyline. What a way to stomp a slow burn into a dead end for an extremely frustrated audience that finally tapped out. Ahh well. I’ll take the Rio spin-off.

I started watching for Rhetta because she’s awesome and I’m a middle aged white woman. When I saw Manny was going to be in I was like cool, cause I liked him from the show he was on before called Graceland. I’ve never really been a huge fan of Hendricks. I did like Mae Whitman & Reno Wilson and their characters. Hell, they could of killed off Beth and kept the rest and I would of still watched it!! I love Mathew Lillard and as much as everyone else hated Dean, I was always hoping for the Dean redemption arc.
I might be reading her wrong but Christina Hendricks gives me really pompous vibes, from what I have seen of Manny he seems like a very relaxed and genuine guy so it's very hard to understand why she wouldn't like him? That along with her constantly pushing the Beth/Dean dynamic because of her own personal friendships with Matthew Lillard and her not recognizing what the fans of the show wanted. Some people have mentioned that she was friends with one of the writers as well which makes me think that perhaps she had some sway (also as a lead actress) in the progression of Beths character development and of the storylines (and season 4's focus on Dean that nobody liked). This is all speculation of course, but idk it just weirds me out that she was so opposed to what the fans wanted. Also, i'm sure her comment about Manny calling her "Chris" was all in good fun but she still could have told him she didn't like the nickname. That's usually how nicknames form, someone just starts using it and it either sticks or the person says they don't like it. If she really hated it she should have said something, but something tells me she was just joking around on that talk show and it ended up coming off as her really being annoyed.
