i think as naruto slowly grew up and matured he stopped liking sakura, in the movie it was said it was more of a competition with sasuke. and after the two year time gap he slowly started to fall in love with hinata, it was a pretty natural process in my opinion

Regardless, Sasuke is still Naruto's first kiss.

Why I Like Hinata (I like Sakura, too, I just need to compare them for the people that are biased) Character: 1. I believe her character and personality was shat on, by she is still great. She is a quiet individual who has always sticked to her ideals. She was inspired by Naruto, and she always thought about him whenever she was in a state of distress or in a problem. She thought about how optimistic he was, even in the saddest of times, and she held on to this. She used him as his inspiration, and this is an admirable quality of hers. 2. She is kind to everybody. Even though she liked Naruto, she was not mean to everyone else that wasn't him. She didn't hit or strike anyone else that wasn't Naruto. She was always kind to everyone, even when they were mean to her. Sakura's personality consisted of hitting, punching, and striking Naruto or anyone else when she was mad or angry. This is used for comical purposes, but it gets old real quick. People attach this to her personality, and it makes Sakura more dislikable than Hinata. Hinata never competed with anyone that liked Naruto, either. 3. She cares for people. We mostly see her caring for Naruto, but she still cares for others. During the chuunin exams, she went up to Naruto and gave him medicine. That was adorable. Really, really adorable. Hinata is just cute in general. Anyways, when her little sister was kidnapped by Toneri, she went to go help her immediately, even making Naruto think that he was being ditched. For all of the people that say that she only cares for Naruto, that is simply not true. Uselessness: 1. Hinata is not useless. She is powerful and fast. She has her byakugan, which comes in handy for many cases. She worked hard to be where she's at. Her main inspiration was Naruto. She looked at how hard he trained and she did the same (again, adorable). She is great at controlling chakra, even better than Ino. 2. Her quick and unusual Hyuuga methods are not fast to catch on to. Their jutsu and methods are unknown to anyone outside of their clan, giving her an advantage. She became skilled at using her clan's methods by the end of Shippuden. 3. Hinata was born into a powerful clan, BUT, she was not born with natural talent and she was not born a prodigy. She had to work her way up to where she is right now, and she worked hard. She worked so hard, that at certain points, she went blind. Her dedication to her clan kept her going, she knew the clan and her father needed her. Anybody that ignores this is ignorant, Hinata worked hard, maybe as hard as Sakura. Strong Points in Her Character/ Personality: 1. Hinata is great. She was by Naruto's side even when no one was there for him. From the beginning, she always liked him. She didn't like him just for looks. She liked him because she realized he was kindhearted and pure. Even when everyone else was swooning over Sasuke, she still liked Naruto. She stayed with him until the very end, and she encouraged Naruto to do better, too. 2. She isn't very strong physically, but she tries her best. She tried really hard to catch up to Neji, and by the end of Shippuden, she did. She worked really hard for it. She wanted to make her father and clan proud, and she did this for the future of her clan. She knew that the future of the clan depended on her strength, and she made sure to at least try and live up to her clan's name. Also, she created her own jutsu when she was 12. 12!! 3. Her character is soft and gentle, something other female characters lack. She cares for her family. When she was training in front of her dad, she couldn't hit her little sister because she didn't want to harm her. She is a great mother/wife. Naruto is gone most of the time, but she has to raise 2 kids by herself (with some help from Naruto). She has to keep a bratty 12 year old and a little girl under control. She still kind of needs to grow a backbone. She's too soft, that's why she it's hard for her to keep Boruto under control. 4. She is emotionally very strong. When Neji died, she shed a couple of tears, but then she made sure Naruto went back to his normal mental state. She made sure Naruto didn't go crazy or breakdown because of Neji's death. Sakura on the other hand, she is emotionally weak. She has a weak spot for Sasuke. She was about to die because she couldn't kill Sasuke herself. 5. She is helpful. When Shizune, Ino, and Sakura were doing the 4 corner sealing to seal the 3 tailed beast, she was able to help with ease, she even did better than Ino, a trained medical ninja. Hinata has no prior training in medical ninjutsu, but the reason she was able to do it was because her clan needs strong and precise chakra control for their techniques, and because she worked hard to try and master her chakra control. She has the byakugan, which has come in handy in multiple occasions. Even though she almost died from the hands of Pain, if she hadn't stepped in, Naruto would probably be dead. 6. She has courage, because she knew she would probably die, but she still went in to try and save Naruto. It seems kind of stupid, which it is, but she still helped. If it wasn't for her, Naruto wouldn't have met his father, or be able to kill Pain. Development: Hinata grew from a shy, timid, and weak girl, into a hard working mother. At the beginning, all she cared was about Naruto, but she used that to help her get stronger. Her methods certainly worked, since now, she is stronger than she ever was. She used her feelings to her advantage, which is a great quality to have. She trained and trained, not only for Naruto, but for her clan. She knew she had a responsibility, and she worked hard to try and conquer that responsibility. At the end, she finally got what she wanted, and that's great for her. She deserves it. She always stayed by Naruto's side, and she always tried to help in more ways than one. Now, about the people that only like her for her body, they're pretty shallow, but many people like Hinata for more than just her body and looks. She is very pretty, but that's not all there is to her. She's strong, hardworking, responsible, and definitely not useless. Her character seems bad because of bad writing. She got little character development, but even with that little character development, she still turned out to be a great character. Also, to those Sakura fans, sorry, but I needed to compare her to Hinata. Hinata is my favorite character, but Sakura comes in at #2! Sorry if you were offended,

Reader Beware: This is a lengthy take on the NaruSaku vs NaruHina debate. I always saw it as Naruto had a huge crush on Sakura since childhood only because she was the prettiest girl (in his opinion) with exotic hair, while being blind to everything else about her. The crush continued since they were put on a team and she was pretty much the only girl his age he interacted with. He misinterpreted this crush as love since it was the first time he felt anything like this, and had no parents or friends to talk about this. So his "love" for Sakura pretty much blinded him to all her faults and any other options he had. All this time, he's interacting with Hinata and developing a deeper relationship with her (chuunin exam cheating, Naruto encouraging Hinata to not give up and saying she can change, his promise to beat Neji on her behalf, her calling him a proud failure and lifting his spirits, Naruto saying he likes people like her, the tons of part 1 filler moments). Through these moments he's seeing how much alike they are with their ideals and trials they endured even with their opposite personalities. You could already tell she meant a great deal to him but he ignored it in favor of focusing on his "love" for Sakura. Part 2 he still crushes on Sakura but not nearly as intense. He begins to see her flaws, as displayed when he blows up on her for lying to him and herself about being in love with him. He still maintains this childhood crush throughout most of shippuden but it continues to weaken as he grows from a boy into a man and finally breaking at the climax of the war when he holds Hinata's hand and thanks Hinata, not Sakura, for always being by his side (showing he's no longer blinded by his "love" for Sakura to everything Hinata's done to and for him). Also showing that he clearly views her differently than the rest of his friends. I also believe at this point is where his love for Hinata truly bloomed but unforunately he didn't quite understand the feelings since the only experience he had with love was his "love" for Sakura. So Naruto doesn't recognize his feelings and it takes a movie and genjutsu bubble trap thing to make him finally realize what's been there for so long. Or I could just be reading entirely too much into this story. That's entirely possible also lol

To be honest, Sakura wouldn't be a good match for Naruto since she never wanted him(EVER), she kept hitting him way too much, she lied to him, saying she loved him when she didn't just to trick him and she only loved Sasuke. Spoiler alert, she actually ends up with Sasuke. Hinata is the right one for Naruto. She's the one that always truly loved Naruto from day 1. She was always watching him from a far. She was always too shy to talk to him and when they got in seperate groups, it was hard to always be around ind talk anyways. He was her inspiration too. She was all for him ever since he was really young and everyone else turned their backs on him. She confessed her love to him while he was in danger and tried her best to save him. She did try to help him from time to time. The reason she watched from a far instead of walking up to him and talking was because she was too shy. From time to time when he was around her and she was in danger, he lost it and and all 9 tails on the enemy. When Pain killed her for a short amount of time, after she confessed her love to Naruto, he lost it so much that he was almost all 9 tails and died. Truthfully, I think part of him really did love her, but, he didn't know it cuz he was too focused on his feelings for Sakura. At first, when he was younger, he thought Hinata was alittle weird and didn't know much about Hinata, but as the series went on, he grew to get to know Hinata when he could and liked her more and more. To be completely honest, I highly doubt that he ended up with Hinata cuz of fans. The creator did it cuz he wanted to. He thoubt Hinata was the best choice. He probably knew how he was going to end it for awhile. The way Naruto acted whenever she was in danger was big hints on who he was going to end up with. Sasuke didn't choose Sakura for a long time cuz he was too busy with revenge to even be interested in any girl. But, once the revenge was out of his way, he fell for Sakura. Ever notice how when Ino hugged him from behind, he looked irritated and that he gave her a glare and when Sakura hugged him, he wasn't irritated? That tells you something. He probably liked Sakura, but, didn't realize it cuz revenge was clouding his mind and heart. Naruto ended up with the right one and Sasuke ended up with the right one whether you think so or not. Whoever thinks it's cuz of fans that Naruto ended up with Hinata and Sasuke ended up with Sakura is a bunch of bullshit and lies all because NaruSaku fans are all butt hurt that they didn't get the ending they wanted! So, SUCK IT UP AND GET OVER IT! Who the fuck cares that he didn't end up with the one that will never want him and that he ended up with the one that truly loves him from day 1!

Hinata sacrificed her life when she fought pain

Naruto would have never ended up alone, he was one of saviors of the world and basically considered a hero. Not to mention he went on to become hokage, it was made clear how respected and loved he was not only by the hidden leaf but also by the other large ninja villages. Tons of girls would have gone after him (such as at the start of Naruto:The Last, lots of girls want to give him a scarf/start a relationship with him) - Although I would agree that probably none of the other main female characters would have been interested. That said, I am so glad he ended up with Hinata, he deserved somebody who truly loved him.

I don't think he ever loved Sakura, it was just him competing to get more attention from her than Sasuke... The genjutsu wasn't the moment he fell in love with Hinata it was to show him that he's been in love with her for a while... The genjutsu was one that replayed your memories... The fact that memories of Hinata came to his mind shows he loved her and not Sakura... This is backed up when he almost got himself caught in the infinite tsukuyomi by running out of Sasuke's Susano'o to save Hinata... Granted though the transition could have been done better... Like showing them getting closer during the 2 year blank period...

Go back to the preliminary tests.naruto suffers with hinata though they have never interacted(like friends at least).he promised at hinata's blood that he will win. In chunnin exam he fought for the first-time neither for the title of Hokage nor to prove his worth but for hinata. It has been hinted that he had a special feeling for her and they have the special connection. Naruto inspires others, but when he was low hinata motivated him (before chunnin exms). They complement each other. This makes me think that they were meant to be together. Their love was there In the bud from the very beginning but bloomed to its fullest in the last movie.

Honestly I was for narusakr for the majority of the Manga but as it progressed I liked hinata more, sure she had a small amount of airtime, but in that time she did more for Naruto than Sakura did in the whole series. Plus shes achually way cuter than Sakura. hinata wins

Honestly, sakura is neutral for me. I have never really paid that much attention on her. But hinata, she is nice and deserved naruto right from the beggining. Any who saying Narusaku should have been the correct couple imo probably didnt read the manga correctly, Sakura is never in love with Naruto, never was and never will,...they care each other as a bestfriend (at least since Shippuden) thus you'll find very little development for Narusaku on the manga and the only chances for Narusaku to happen is if Sasuke somehow ended up dead in the end of the series but he didnt so yeah,... I'm not saying that Naruhina or other couple is well written or anything like that and even i admitt that the last the movie is painfully rushed, but again Naruto is a shounen manga and like other Shounen mangaka, Kishimoto sensei lacks the skill to create sensible love story for the main character and he suffers from the storyline pace that became too fast after the death of Sarutobi Asuma,...but i didnt blame him for that, because for me he already put enough clues for the romantic pairing in the series (in shounen manga standard of course), to understand how the coupling works in Narutoverse you have to shift your attention from the boys to the girls, because if you read the whole series, most couples in Naruto is more about the girls fight to get their guys rather than the guys fight to get their girl, Naruhina, Sasusaku, Saiino, even the so called most sensible pairing Shikatema all sufer from the same symptom, the amount of effort that the girls spent is WAY more than the boys ever did : Sakura twice express her willingness to defect from Konoha to accompany Sasuke's journey for revenge (although the length of that resolve wont ever be known) and she approach tsunade to be her apprentice, in fact she is the only Sannin apprentice who approach their teacher and ask to be trained by themselves (Naruto and Sasuke essentially were approached and taken by their respective teacher) so that she has the chance to bring Sasuke back Hinata is the first person who saw Naruto as a person and know how great of a person he is, she also put her life on the line protecting Naruto from Pain (although only temporary) Ino risk her consciousness to bring back Sai from the genjutsu in shikamaru hidden and in the same novel and Temari saves Shimakamaru even arrange a rescue team for him at the time when Shikamaru was neglecting her,... And as for Naruto married Hinata, i hope you guys not forgetting the fact that Hinata is the only woman other than her mother who have the most emotional impact and emotional connection with him, he feels at ease when she comforts him from his insecurity before fighting Neji and he feels at ease when Hinata comfort him from near breakdown situation because of Neji's death,...and no matter how much and how long Naruto blabber about him liking Sakura, Hinata is the only woman whose her suffering trigger his anger twice, first in Hinata vs Neji match in which he pissed to the point he made a blood oath and second in the Pain assault in which he outraged to the point he transformed into the 8 tails state,...so bottomline which one you choose to believe? Naruto's act or Naruto's mouth?, afterall Ninja should see beneath the underneath right?,...

Till this day i dont get why ANYONE would have wanted Naruto and sakura to end up together by the end. Hinata is better for naruto in every single way and its so obvious yet people just want him with her cause she was the main girl in the story. Seriously i ask any Naruto and sakura shipper why would you want him with her? Would you really want him just to be a second choice for a chick who didnt want him for most of the series? or would you want him to be with a chick who was the first one to ever believe him him, and still does, constantly risked her life for him and always admired him and knew he would be great? If you actually put yourself in his shoes you would see the best choice was always hinata. Bottom line is sakura was pretty much just a useless crush he had in the beginning (much like her for sasuke) and thats all. Every naruto and sakura moment were just a few blushes with him thats it. Every Naruto and Hinata moment was WAY more impactful than hers. All she kept doing was ignoring him for sasuke right up until the end even though he treated her like shit. I would hate for the guy we followed since the begining to end up with a chick like that. He deserves way better and he got it. As a Naruhina fan, I understand why some people would want Narusaku to happen Naruto has always had a crush on Sakura, the only way for Narusaku to happen is if Sakura felt the same way I know the majority of the comment section is 'What about naruto's feelings'? Okay if you're saying that what about Sakura's feelings? It's true Sakura has shown that she cares for Naruto but not into the extent of her forgetting about sasuke and moving on, Sakura still loved Sasuke (Trust me if I was Sakura I would have chosen Naruto over Sasuke any day) Naruto knew how much Sakura loved Sasuke and yet he never gave up on Sakura but there's a point to where everyone moves on, right? Naruto had to move on. Maybe in the last movie his feelings for Sakura reduced/disappeared, maybe he didn't know that there was going to be girl who actually liked him for him (Unlike those fangirls who only like him AFTER the war) and when he found out that Hinata liked him I wouldn't really say he fell in love with her straight away I would say he began to gain interest. After the movie (Blank period) you can say they've gone on a couple of dates to get to know each other (Kishimoto did a manga of their date) thus leading to Naruhina Now I'm not saying that Narusaku fans should stop shipping Narusaku ( In fact keep on) even myself was once a Narusaku shipper. I'm just saying don't let the ending ruin the whole manga/series for you. Just be glad Naruto Uzumaki became Hokage and achieved his dream :)

Hinata had was probably one of the least introduced side characters. Literally one bs movie got them married. Sakura and Naruto's relationship was on a much much higher scale. The last movie was just a way to justify their marriage.

All I will state on this matter is the following: Sakura explains that Naruto's 'love' for her was because he didn't want to lose to Sasuke. When he left, he wanted to bring Sasuke back not to impress Sakura, but because he knew how much Sasuke being gone was hurting Sakura (plus Sasuke is his bff so...) Kishimoto, as you said, stated he planned their love from the beginning, but that he didn't really have time to develop the romance/wasn't good at writing it. The Genjutsu WASN'T the main reason he fell in love with her. Love is a subconscious thing, you cannot just decide one day to 'love' somebody like he did Sakura. Have you ever read a love story where the main character forces themselves to fall in love? No. You do it subconsciously. Naruto was so focused on war and his rivalry with Sasuke that he didn't really have time to notice these feelings, plus, it said in the Last that he couldn't differentiate the difference between romantic love and platonic love, as stated in the Genjutsu scene when Sakura explains that he doesn't know the difference between his love for ramen, and his love he has for people romantically. The Genjutsu scene was basically showing Naruto memories he may have forgotten about (PTSD, I'm guessing, cause you know, he went through a WAR and all) and showing him that his love for Hinata was there for awhile. It basically just showed him the type of love he felt for her and the type of love he felt for Sakura. Also, the fact that he thought of Hinata in the genjutsu and not Sakura speaks for itself. Believe what you want, but even if the transition was horribly done in your opinion, I don't think you know the better love interest for the characters then the one who created them AND the universe and had the whole plot in line from the start.

I hope you all know that in NaruHina, "Naru" stands for "Naruto" and we are here completely neglecting his feelings. I dunno that in real life people want to end up with someone they love but in comment section they act like philosophers which is ridiculous. I dunno which NaruHina moments they call emotional. That Pain fight scene, yes it was undoubtedly one of the best scenes and I would have shipped NaruHina myself if things went well after that but trolling continued. That scene only shows Hinata's feelings which we already know, but where are Naruto's feelings. Oh yes let them go to hell coz we care about Hinata. Naruto even can't remember single thing about his conversation with Hinata so this scene doesn't qualify for shipping. And that "Neji's death scene", that scene hurts me so much. But if you think that scene qualifies NaruHina for shipping just coz Hinata touched her face, Naruto said thankyou to her and hold her hand then congrats to you. Sakura also touched Naruto's face during their fight with Itachi, that thanks was only for opening his eyes and that hand hold, cmon we all know that was for transmitting his chakra. He takes her hand off his face and lowers it before "holding her hand". This immediately sets it up as a moment in which Naruto literally and figuratively lowered the amount of intimacy that she had initiated. If anything, it was an appreciative, gentle, and apologetic rejection. I can't think of any other emotional and so called shipping moments. And for SasuSaku, yes I shipped them till Naruto part 1 but after Shippuden shipping them...........LOL............ And you can't say Sakura was always bitch to Naruto and moreover her character is of Tsundere. -Peope say Hinata ran to save Naruto vs Pain but how can they forget Sakura, who ran to Naruto when he transformed into 4 tails and gets injured herself. Was that a really easy? She even cries on the fact that she can't do anything special for Naruto so if you are saying that Sakura is useless then she herself knew that. - She even never told Naruto that it was him who injured her coz she doesn't want to hurt Naruto mentally. - When Chiyo told her that jinchuriki dies when tailed beast is extracted from their body, then Sakura started crying for whom, guess.........yes its Naruto. - That CPR thing, which showed how deeply she cared for him. I am not saying she loved her but this could have easily been turned to love if Kishi wanted but no he was in "Trolling Mode". - Yamato thoughts-...... doesn't matter Sai thoughts-......... doesn't matter Minato's reaction-....... doesn't matter Iruka's comparison of Earth and Heaven with Naruto and Sakura(that both are incomplete without each other) doesn't matter. Naruto's feelings- who the hell is he to decide, we love Hinata yes. Yes these all things don't matter but those 2 or 3 scenes matter, one of which(the most important) Naruto can't even remember. Sasuke is alive so why NaruSaku should happen?? Well it could have been turned out this way that Sakura only wanted to save Sasuke as her comrade and now she is not having any romantic feelings for her but no money ruined the ending. Sakura again became fangirl. Are we forgetting that it was Naruto who transformed himself into Sasuke and it was him who compemented Sakura's forehead which was the major boost for Sakura's love for Sasuke(that one compement inspired her to continue trying) . I personally don't understand all the hate the characters get.😓 I mean, I like NaruSaku, and NaruHina, and Sasusaku- I can see them all working however, the thing is I also feel like none of these pairings were developed well. For NaruSaku they had the most interaction and they could have worked as a cute, quirky couple but Kishi kept making Sakura dependent and hung up on Sasuke and there weren't enough truly "romantic" moments between the too- moments that could be interpreted as more than friends and a mutual liking. NaruHina meanwhile, barely had any interaction and he completely ignores Hinata and doesn't even confront her after she confesses. Their relationship was out of no where and rushed. (Not to mention they tried to justify it- poorly might I add- in the Last movie. Sasusaku is a tricky one now. As Sakura (even though she is my fave female character) was developed poorly in terms of her skill set, personality, and feelings. While Sasuke is at first shown to be annoyed with Sakura we see him start tolerating her then caring and appreciating Sakura before he leaves and goes loco. They could have gave hints into Sasuke's mind and feelings. So while Sakura's feelings are too incomprehensible, Sasuke's feelings are too vague. ~~~ Basically, Hinata is too ignored by Naruto to make NaruHina look natural. Sasuke's feelings are to vague and his actions contradict the relationship too much- while Sakura feelings are 1-dimensional and not properly developed to make the relationship look appealing. NaruSaku isn't bad- it's the most developed and well-rounded of the three- it's just it has very few and rare moments where their actions are interpreted as more than friends (and a MUTUAL liking) while 90% of the time it is just close friend/sibling moments. ... That said, while I like all three relationships they are all poorly executed. This is coming from someone who prefers NaruHina and SasuSaku despite these couples have little to no sense.

After Shippuden NaruSaku makes more sense than NaruHina.....Everyone caring about Hinata and Sakura feelings. No one is thinking about Naruto's feelings. Whoever thinks that Naruto loved Sakura coz of competing with Sasuke needs a serious treatment. NaruSaku vs NaruHina is like whole Shippuden vs The Last movie. Kishimoto knew he messed up with NaruHina thats why he made the freakin' movie. I only liked Naruto vs Toneri in the whole movie. Its so obvious that Naruto loved Sakura even when Sai asked him he said that with seriousness. People say he stopped loving her, no he just stopped flirting with her coz he saw Sakura crying for Sasuke like she would have never cried for him. Even animators believed in NaruSaku and created Ep 235 which shows Naruto's love for Sakura. When Minato was leaving, Naruto so sadly said that now its impossible for him to find girl like Kushina. My personal theory for Kishimoto's "I planned this all along it was just trolling lol" is that the studios forced him to end this way to maximize earnings, since Naruhina is massively more mainstream than Narusaku and Narusasu, and tbh the companies care 0 about the fans, what they care about is earnings. But in all seriousness, Naruto had a deeper, more significant bond and development with Sasuke and Sakura, so much so that it makes his interactions with Hinata seem like nothing. Like you said, if Kishi wanted Naruhina to happen, he should've made more Naruhina moments and developed Hinata's character as a whole, and Sasuke and Sakura's development was shit too. Also, nice job objectifying women "he should hit that pussy" and saying sex lives are about multiple partners and promiscuity, instead of romantic and focused on a single person (unless you break up).

Naruto's feeling for Sakura started to degrade during the Sasuke recovery mission and truly end when Sakura lied of loving of him during Kage Summit arc. If Sasuke never was added to the series then Sakura would have been a possible love in interest but would be used for Naruto's growth of getting over his first love and find someone else, and realizing that it would be had been too late for her not getting Naruto when she would have had a chance. If Sakura was more the main character of the story then she would have gotten to be with naruto.

I think it is best for naruto and hinata being together. but I would get why people would ship narusaku. it would make sense (since they had more screen time together and sometimes a bit of a spark) the thing is Sakura is madly in love with sasuke and there’s nothing naruto could do to change her mind, and I kinda felt bad for the guy. At least someone that was also madly in love with him (hinata) showed her affections. I personally ship narusaku if only Sakura had accepted him from the beginning of the series and a better attitude/personality towards naruto.

Plus naruto couldn't have just fallen in love and end up with hinata just cause the genjutsu he was clearly feeling something towards her but he didn't know what it was cause he's dumb but then the genjutsu showed him and made him realize who the person he must end up with is since she loved him her whole life so naruto realized he loves hinata and fell for her and would end up doing anything for her as for going to save her and taking that scarf even tho it was already destroyed and having kids.

It's obvious in the Last that Naruto was already in love with Hinata he just didn't know it. The Last was him realizing it. I think Naruto thought that Hinata was too good for him.

I think it didnt make sense for naruto to marry hinata because yea they go way back and she was the first to acknowledge naruto, naruto still had feelings for sakura throughout the anime and there were signs that sakura liked naruto back. Naruto seemed to respect hinata more as a friend and not a partner. And for sakura to marry sasuke like wtf sasuke is like a dark and emotionless person who didnt even love or like sakura because he said that she was worse than naruto

Due to how Naruto valued friendship and how much he craved for affection...I honestly believe he'd convinced himself he loved Sakura and loves Hinata. Before Befriending Ino and before she became obsessed with Sasuke, Sakura was apparently a very shy and lovely girl, who at one point was kind to Naruto. Then she met Ino, her personality became the opposite and so did her popularity: no longer bullied, no longer shy. Naruto still liked Sakura. I wouldn't be surprised if he liked her because he remembered the girl she once was, and her being popular would automatically make him liked also. Yes she is beautiful which helps-But it doesn't change the fact everything Naruto liked about her, was due to how she appeared, rather than her personality. With Hinata...it's harder to explain. They basically had no social interaction and when they did...she would faint and their conversation would be almost, well, nothing. Until much later around the time Neji sacrificed his life so Hinata would live-after she herself jumped in front of Naruto, we see some 'love' development. The real reason I believe Naruto Married Hinata was, not only due to he being the 'last choice', when it became obvious Sakura would not get over her fixation with Sasuke. Hinata was the only one who showed any romantic interest in him, plus Neji-one of his closest friends died protecting Hinata-who was willingly, willing to die because she 'loved him; To me, Naruto marrying Hinata was because of guilt over Neji's death,and being with hinata meant he finally could have the affection he craved. He didn't marry her for love, he married her because she was 'there and willinging' Naruto was even told by his dead parents not to go after the 'first person who says she likes him'. I'm not even surprised Kishimoto said both marriages are failing (Naruto and Sasukes) no matter how you look at it, NOT ONE of them are together out of love, But a weird fixation each had with a 'perfect ending', except Sasuke who just needed someone to be his baby mama lol
