At one point in the original Naruto series they had you believing that the Byakugan was equal to or just as powerful as the Sharingan. They needed add onto the Byakugan, adding individual abilities for the eye like the Sharingan.

It's called the Gentle Fist; it's a exclusive fighting style for them where they use mostly their palms to do internal damage rather than physical assault. Plus especially with the Byakugan, it's damn near impossible to counter in close range combat

the otsutsuki clan seem to use the gentle fist a lot so if they're planning on using more of them we probably will get to see more of it. not to mention Boruto is a practitioner of the gentle fist too and he is the main character so we'll likely see a lot of it.

His style of using shadow clones is smarter because unlike Naruto he doesn’t have an enormous supply of chakra so he makes each move count, unlike Naruto who would have just made more clones

Remember Kakashi was surprised by Sasuke’s combat abilities during the bell test, however when Kakashi decided to up the ante, he was more surprised than Hanabi, he still didn’t use his full strength or anywhere close to it when he put sasuke down.

But now in Boruto, it's all about the byakugan and that's what I like

Anyway, my point was that anyone recognized as a ninja is at bare minimum capable of dodging a kunai being thrown at their face. I don't even remember anyone in the series being hit by a thrown kunai. Their reaction speed has been trained to the point that a thrown kunai is just too slow and obvious to hit them in the face. Naruto had a lot of clones but no smart fighting style. he just gets a lot of clones throwing random punches with no coordination (quantity). While Boruto makes a good use of his 4 clones (he focuses on quality of attacks). he's clearly smarter at that

Boruto being only able to summon a certain amount of clones probably has him getting creative with what he has to make up for it. Sure having numbers and raw strength is good, but that can easily be outsmarted if that's all that can be relied on.
