Yeah the dude did a great job building a solid team and building a brand through YT to get paid. Rly glad he didn’t miss out on the bag,,,,I remember his mixtapes blowin our mind 😅
He still gets paid to play the sport he loves and without having to deal with trades pressure of the team long seasons etc and he can do whatever he wants...the ball handling is insane!
Mugsy Boggs and John Stockton we’re both skinny like the professor and mugsy was even shorter, granted mugsy can dunk, which leaves no excuses for anyone over 6’ that can’t dunk. Also CP3, is short too, but a great player.
@@christophermonces6944 they had higher lvl of athleticism. The guy didn't say height, he said athleticism. Dribbling around amateurs in street ball is very different from playing with a bunch of athletic freaks 😊
Nba doesn't need him,he's not good enough, not even for the euro league or big 3. Ball handling tricks don't work at the NBA level. That's why they really use those tricks, they can do everything he can do but he can't do what they can do.
@@MrDeAdJoKeRTV I can definitely guard him,he’s not THAT good, yall just have trash ass defense. I’m not even a basketball player like that and I’ve guarded people better than him.
He hasn't aged at all...this dude has been at it since i was 14 years old im about to be 35 this year lord willing and he is still going...nothing but the upmost respect for the professor
He definitely lost a step on the court. Prime professor lightning fast! His handle and shot are still great though. Just a step slower now. He def looks younger than he is for sure. Remember when And 1 had a show on ESPN where hoopers had to show out at the open court to get invited to the arena game? If they were good enough they got invited to the opposing teams bus where they would play against the And 1 city to city. At the end of the tour, whoever was on the opposing team got a chance to be signed to And 1. Springs, Silk, Professor, and Spyda. Air Up There as well. Straight HOOPERS.
Cmon man, the real reason is he’s a street ball player and not an NBA player. Being under 5’10”, no consistent jumper beyond the free throw line. He wouldn’t survive for 5 minutes in an NBA game. He’d get slaughtered defensively, and wouldn’t be able to get his shot off on the other end. He played a partial season in the G league and averaged 4 pts and 2 assists per game while playing decent minutes.
@INERAZARthe dude is like 5ft 10. Spud Web and Muggsy Bogues were considered giant slayers due to their speed at stealing, pass the ball and getting to the hoop You must be a youngster who doesn't know really NBA basketball.
@@billknox4121 48” vertical and quick as a cat. The professor played G league and averaged 4 pts 2 assists, and they gave him minutes. He’s a street ball player/entertainer and made a living doing that… but that’s where it ends
@@AwesomeCrabman Most of Magic's money comes from investments that have nothing to do with basketball. He's definitely make far less than a billion off of basketball things
he definitely is more talented than the NBA players, height is genetic, being tall doesn't make you talented Basketball is one of those sports where as long as you're gifted with heights depending on your genes, you are likely to be drafted in the NBA
Yep, it was ALL due to the NCAA, and definitely not due to his lack of height and all-around basketball skills. His dribbling and passing skills are great. His defensive, rebounding, shooting, and all the other skills that make a NBA worthy player...not so much.
Professor himself has said he was not good enough for the NBA Not to mention his size He said first thing he wasn’t good enough And if he could have gotten magically better he was too short
NBA players are pure athletes and they are also taller than 99.5% of the population. Even if you are an hard worker, you cannot succed in this league without those 2 abilities.
I agree to an extent but not even half of the NBA are crazy good athletes. Most are just skilled at a specific part/s of the game. Take Jokic for example arguably the best player in the league currently and is no way considered an “athlete” by any means.
@@netche10 no most of the NBA are great athletes. Jokic looks unathletic compared to other freak athletes but he himself is still a freak athlete. He's almost seven feet tall. He weighs 284 and has proportional strength (so benching at least 315). Jokic may not have elite speed or acceleration, but his endurance is off the charts. Imagine a man his frame running two miles in 16 minutes without breaking stride. And he's much faster than people think, he's constantly moving around the floor. Jokic is one of the most athletically gifted people alive. He just doesn't look like it when people like LeBron and Zion exists in the same league. Only unathletic compared to other athletic freaks.
@ParanoiaKeepsMeWake i hate the argument ppl make when they say look at Joker. Dude is 7ft tall. Larry Bird was probably the least athletic Superstar the league has ever seen, but it doesn't matter bc he was also V tall. To make the league you have to have crazy skills but also must have either a lot of athleticism or alot of height ( 6'5" min) Any leagers under 6'5" are either *INSANELY* athletic or have *otherwold* skills or a combination of both
@@javierlandaverde4108you’re talking about on-ball defense, which is a big deal but not the only part of Defense. The guy is able to anticipate REALLY well which is a big part of defense If you watch his semi pro games he’s a capable team defender
Joining And1 isn’t the reason because Skip-to-my-Lou made it to the league. Crossing up local basketball players at a park isn’t a good enough gauge to see if he’s NBA ready. That’s why it’s important to make the NCAA basketball program to get better NBA chances.
Skip/Rafer went to Fresno State, which is a D1 NCAA school. He was scouted. Prof just straight up isn't good enough. The skill gap between even NBA garbage minute bench riders and the best streetballers is a universe apart.
@@nachoisme Yo its rlly late to reply this but ok, yeah he kinda travels a lot but he played on semi-professional leagues, and was still killing with his handles, he only travels cuz hes a entretainer and no one gaf abt it in street ball

Not so fast my friend. I saw some clips of him working with James Harden and few other guys. I don’t think he would get destroyed. It would be similar to Hezi Dumbass
*_I remember in his interview they said the rules sucked & they wouldn't let him play his way. So that's the main reason why, but I'm telling you if he were in the NBA He'd be breaking all the NBA star ankles 🫡_*
@@jwang2879 none of those guys did. That was my point. He said the reason he didn’t go to the NBA was because he couldn’t go to college. My point is there were people who didn’t go to college and still made the NBA. It’s called sarcasm.
He was never on the NBA level but he was able to make a career with a basketball. Man ain’t worked ever since the age of 19.. 😅 I’d love to live that way.
if he was 6'6" would you say the same? his ball handling is crazy, and he's an absolutely insane passer, and he can shoot. I think as far as raw skill goes, he's on nba level. He's just short, thats the only thing I see blatantly holding him back
At 5’7 you got to be an absolute beast in the NBA both fundamentally & athletically not to mention have discipline & be coachable…… a lot of the And 1 crew were awesome street players but were hard headed & didn’t take great care of themselves. There’s a reason why Skip’s the only 1 to make it.
I've stood right next to this dude. He's more like 5'10" or 5'11". The chances of any player making the NBA under 6 foot is like 1 in a million or harder. Also, he only weighs 155lbs. Giving up that much height and weight makes it nearly impossible. Amazing baller but not built for the physical demands it would take to get there.
Neither was a super star... How did that narrative come about? Neither made any All NBA teams, All Star teams. They were both solid starting calibre players but were never considered stars, not to talk about super star..
Wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute....... THE PROFFESOR IS 40??? I KNEW BRO WAS OLD BUT DAM Edit: Thanks for all the likes, the most I've ever gotten
@@prettyboishah2898 The professor cant be compared with Newman. Newman is a lousy player, he can't rebound unless he gets on a ladder....and so on. Don't compare gold to a crap.
He's a superb streetballer. But for the pros he's too short and not a good enough shooter. Props to the professor though. He's used his skills well and been quite successful.
There were several NBA players that were shorter than him. The height plays a factor in him not getting drafted for sure, but that would have been overlooked if he was better in other aspects. Being his height isn't a deal-breaker, as we've seen with several NBA players over the years.. muggsy bogues with 5 ft 3 for God's sake
Muggsy was putting up better numbers than CP3 did in college but he was not a top pick being he’s much shorter. Dude was the number one option and had to do so much.
You know how many young men unfairly had their lives completely destroyed cos of that stupid NCAA rule? I personally know 5-6 guys that could have been in the NBA,NFL and MLB, all to now have men competing in girl sports, and everyone getting paid now, it’s sad, infuriating and very unfortunate, cos the guys I knew not only were their lives practically ruined but their families, their moms, their little brothers their fathers, just tragic, I wish there was a way to sue the NCAA for those guys to at least receive a second chance with some life changing money. The guys making those rules up are guys with so much money they don’t know what to do with it, ALL off the backs of young men who STARVED and worked themselves to the bone just so those old guys can have 3 summer homes and Porsches and their kids to have $20k weekly allowance. It’s despicable.
There are about 500 players in the NBA -- some of the most freakishly gifted athletes on planet earth. He's not even close to good enough: not tall enough, not athletic enough, not strong enough, not gifted enough, etc.
@@GeFarr I didn't mean to disparage skateboarding, hell I know I'm not talented enough to do it and I certainly admire people who can. I was just saying that difficulty is subjective. Someone may learn skateboarding relatively easily while struggling with basketball and someone else may pick up basketball easily and suck at skateboarding. It's all relative.
@@U.NC_Drewgood for you kid. Shaq called and said you’re short. See how that works? Just because you’re taller doesn’t make someone taller than average not taller than average. You may be “tall” but you definitely ain’t grown.
Professor is a legend went further than anyone in street ball in my opinion…I watched him since I was like 12 to see the progression is wild salute to professor!🏀
I've followed him since the And 1 days, and no, I've never wondered why. I dont think people realize how insanely gifted and talented one needs to be to make it to the league, let alone the G league.
He's a great street baller, that's his house, outdoor basketball court, he entertains people with his unique style of play, he plays a different game than the NBA and it appears that he has done well with his game financially
