From the position of being an IT professional who works in an intelligence related field, I can say that drones probably wouldn’t be allowed for security reasons. Too easy for a drone that isn’t supposed to be there to get in if drones were in use. That said, secret service normally throttles 5g and wifi so that nobody can operate anything like a drone, or communicate with potential conspirators in the case of an ‘unaliving’ plot. That’s why if you attend an event like this, you’re going to have a tough time getting cell service.

The standards for police departments everything have been "lowered" because not everyone is 6 foot 180 pounds fit and trim. It has been lowered since the early nineties. It doesn't have to do with diversity. The military white male doesn't look like the stereo type of big, muscular male that you see in movies. The question is about training, yes and longevity in the service. how many were hired in the last 3 years? Or have they been there longer? There has always been incompetence in our police/armed forces. I respect law/military people, so I'm not coming here as some authority hating person. Those requirements have been lowered, because it has been harder and harder to find that "perfect" build person.

You make very valid points that no one else wants to acknowledge. Local entities do not want to fit the bill for such events and security. Trump historically has not paid his bills. The venue chosen was second or third tier. But, the glaring problem is that this building was only 130 yards away and an obvious location for a sniper. It was an object failure of the Secret Service to identify and protect the president.
