Yeah, I would love to do that. Without any subscribers, youtube, or sponsers supporting me financially, I have to conserve my time and energy to make easier videos. I have footage of each gun in other videos on my channel. This video is just an educational one.
That is a hard question to answer. Really depends on the size of ports or comp and the tuning done to the particular pistol. I would say that although they work differently, they are very close in overall effectiveness.
@Jehwvsbgeud I would EDC either. However you do need to train a little to get over gasses being shot at you from retention. Comps are slightly safer shot from retention. Most people don't properly train to shoot from retention anyway so not sure if that would make much of a difference. You would need to turn a ported edc away from your face if shooting from retention.
@@Jehwvsbgeud *NEVER ports on an EDC. By EDC, I presume you are thinking you might have to kill someone or be killed? Ports reduce the velocity of the bullet. Most EDC ammo is expanding. It already is NOT going to expand well coming out of a 'short barrel'. You port it, and you might as well carry solid ball ammo.* Compensator... that's rough. If you have to shoot at night, you're going to get all the fire normally coming out the front in a sideways teardrop, coming out the top in a wide fan. It is going to be significantly brighter, and if you are susceptible to bright lights in dark transitions (ie, you force your eyes closed) you will be at a tactical loss. *Additionally, my friend NightwoodGuns here on YT, did a test with ports and comps. Ports can be VERY dangerous. He caught TONS of metal to the arm, when shooting the gun not fully extended. ie, a defensive hip shot. You should look at the video.* ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sOdt0uPkfgY.html *IMHO, comps and ports are to reduce your split times in competition. Only* In a fight or flight situation, barrel rise, recoil flip, those are just going to be not that important. *_Here's the summary:_* I carry a P365 when I need to be as discrete as possible. Appendix carry, IWB It has a comp. That comp digs into my pelvic bone when I sit. Without it, the gun is less annoying. I will never use it at night at home (ie, pitch black), almost everywhere in civilization now, is bright even at night. So comp blinding will be minimized. Does the comp help the P365? Yes. I've measured it with a slow motion camera. Obvious reduction in barrel flip. HOWEVER, my main EDC carry is a full size gun, 5 inch barrel. No comps, no ports. If you can afford it, that is what you should do. Full size, nothing fancy. Goes bang with every click.
