Also I've recently seen an official art where Arlecchino and her children were, and there also were some black and crimson feathers flying around her. And we all know that these feathers are very much symbol of the Herrscher of Yatta!

Nevertheless, I think Arlecchino was somewhat inspired by HoS, especially by Onyx Simurgh battlesuit. I'm still waiting for the Herrscher of Serotonin to come to Genshin or HSR though!!

She is an orphan from Fontaine, but maybe she is mixed blood from Khaenriah. We know she is cursed, many speculate that is the khaenriah curse that transform mixed blood in hilichurl, but it is not fully working. It is likely that the glitch is related to the curse. If the glitch is related to that curse, maybe is a big clue about how to cure that curse in the future, it could be like a computer virus or something like that...
The travelers lost the powers they had before. Maybe it has something related to that? Like they actually didn’t lose it but is using it subconsciously to not get removed from the teyvat? It kinda makes sense.

She has black hands like caterpillar, but unlike caterpillar, she wasn't a hilichurl that was modified and can took a human form. My speculation is she was in the process of 'hilichurlification', but 'something' halted that process, which made her data in Irminsul corrupted. That 'something' might also be the reason why she was grown up just pretty recently (the Arlecchino short animation), and not 500 years ago around the Cataclysm. That 'something' defiinitely has something to do with her 'curse'.
My theory is : Irminsul as a computer has to put you in a state, Arlecchino being experimented on isn't fully human, but she isn't fully non-human either, so computer-sul can't put a 0 nor a 1 and makes her glitch.
She has a lot of connections to death. In the Perinheri book, they asked Perinheri if he was dead, when he crawled through the hearth and witnessed the crimson moon. "You have traversed the fire of two worlds within the hearth, and here you are reborn." Two worlds, living and dead, maybe. Maybe Irminsul can't tell whether she is supposed to be alive or dead. Some enemies also have crimson death particles, hilichurls and ruin guards, for example. So maybe crimson is a color associated with not being able to be properly absorbed by Irminsul.

Only people with Fontainian visions/power granted by the hydro archon (now dragon sovereign) can use the dolphin dive, if you look closely, Arlecchino has a Snezhnayan vision!
Sounds interesting. She's also been "cursed" in some type of way, and it just reminds me of the Abyss twin. Not from this world until someone messed up with their fate (could equal to a curse ?) for them to belong to Teyvat. Maybe Arlecchino is in a similar situation. Though vision cases do not match with the character's origins; take Wanderer for example, who's from Inazuma but has a Sumerian vision. It's most likely the place where you get the vision that is more important. But given the lack of pneumousia, she's probably indeed not completely Fontainian. We know she's linked to Khaenri'ah in some way, it's possible she wasn't born in Fontaine. However she did grew up in it, and so feels Fontainian. We're also learning more about the Descender types of characters, or at least, outlanders. So she might be a tease or linked to that aspect. Gosh, her story quest should've been an Interlude.
honestly, the not being from Teyvat makes a lot of sense after seeing her backstory video, and scara actually being in it when he supposed to be erased form history
One interesting thing I noticed is that her vision casing is from Snezhnaya, meaning she presumably got her vision in Snezhnaya. The thing is, the first time she visited Sneshnaya was when she was held on trial by the Tsaritsa after killing the previous Knave, and yet she used her blood-like ‘pyro’ abilities during the fight despite apparently not using a vision or a delusion. Maybe she did use a vision or a delusion, it’s not clear so who knows. But if she didn’t, which is the most probable outcome, it probably means that her vision is fake like Venti’s and Zhongli’s, and she has a natural ability to control her blood-like ‘pyro’ abilities without the aid of a vision or a delusion.
The fact that she is coming out at the same time Boothill was announced and the fact that they look the exact same has something to do with it in some way...
Update: she's not from Fontaine. But she doesn't tell us where she's originally from, neither does she explained her glitching in the story quest. We did get to fight her which she used these glitches to move instantly. I don't have her friendship level maxed yet to read more about her, so if anyone has, please share.
She is a descendent of a Khaenrian who used to live in the crimson moon's era. A strange fire called "balemoon bloodfire" runs through her body. And this power is related to the crimson moon bloodline.
Honestly one of, if not, the coolest idle animation in the game. Without her idle I don't know if I'd still pull for her, but seeing her glitch like that definitely sold it for me.
Also another thing, i wonder if its also the side effect that caused by our abyss twin, tampering the irminsul (cycle of sumsara) theory. As they were attmepting to break thru the loop.
That's soo true in her animation that hoyo just dropped we can scara and signora wearing the fatui coat even though all the memories of scara and irminsul stuff jsy got removed or something I dunno much but the memory got lost and no one can even remember it so I think that's really true.
Likely a being from outside Teyvat. Though she can't be a descender, she has a vision which makes her essentially trapped. She is definitely an outlander though, we see that there are many foreign lifeforms in Teyvat especially around Elynas.
im just thinking that glitching is related to computation stuff, so she could be glitching from possible errors in irminsul, because irminsul kinda looked and worked like the computer reality system of teyvat in scaramouche's erasure archon quest
Only visions from Fontaine have Arkhe powers, Arlecchino's vision is from Snezhnaya. Also, nothing implies that she remembers Scaramouche at all, the animated short is not a vision from the past or memory from Arlecchino's perspective (obviously, isn't first person), it is just a reenactment of the events that led her to occupy the position of King of the House of Hearth and become a Fatui Harbinger :)
I saw someone talking about detail in the animation short. That scaramouche is there? Shouldn’t he have been erased from Irminsul? Which could mean she actually remembers Scaramouche which why he’s still shown in animation. Since animation can be considered a flashback. So she could be an error in system.
Maybe her curse is from out of tevyat?? It would explain a lot. Maybe it came from the sky, or it was a punishment for what someone did from the gods or heavely principles. Maybe it can be passed from person to person?? I haven’t played genshin in a while but I love the lore.
Like I saw from the Wei video, it also could be that Arlecchino or the Knave is actually an outlander or a descender, so she was just RAISED IN FONTAINE, she is NOT FROM FONTAINE, that's why no pneuma or ousia.

trying to debunk the speculations: - Arlecchino is most likely from teyvat because Irimsul doesnt make the mc glitch too. It was also implied that Arlecchino had parents to some extent in the new year chinese animation of Arlecchino. She could be adopted for all we know, but the animation indicated that her mother had white hair so theres some proof. - The fact that she does not have pneuma or ousia, dolphin dive, as well as the glitching can be related her black arms. It was revealed in her character teaser 5 hours ago as of right now that this blackness is actually a curse that gives her power to some extent. In theory, this curse has sealed her oceanid heritage bc after all she is the only character and might be the only one to have the bond of life mechanic in her kit. - The vision shape has no relevance to anything. The shape of it depends on where you got it not where you were born. Examples are scaramouche using the sumeru vision despite being from Inazuma and Thoma using the inazuma vision despite being from mondstadt.
i don't think dolphin jump and absence of pneuma or ousia related to black arms more likely its just the fact that she spent most of her life in sneznaya and didn't learn to use this stuff. arkhe isn't really tied to them being oceanids its just she just grew in environment where all of that isn't needed

Also you're right I completely forgot the lore side of things, I remember seeing someone in a comment section saying that fontainians take mandatory swimming lessons when they are children but I've yet to check the validity of the source. Just saying though, if fontainians are born with the power to use an arkhe then Arlecchino's curse might be related to that. Emphasis on the "might" because again I do not know how the arkhe works lore-wise. One more thing, since Arlecchino is already aged a bit and has already visited fontaine more than just a few times, you'd think it's high time for her to learn how to use an arkhe alignment but she doesn't
Also, in the animation when she was a kid, it's seems her pyro power comes from the curse or she naturally has it coz she doesn't have a vision in the video

Purely circumstantial but... what if they're just segments of each other? Dottore has shown that he's able to fully change the way he looks too.
If i'm allowed to hoyoverse theorize, i'd say, her powers look suspiciously like Honkai. Looking a little broader Fontaine has shown us the sea of quantum, a quantum trounce, and a quantum character design already, and pneumaousia just seem to be quantum and imaginary by a different name complete with annihilate reaction. The twins themselves look like they are imaginary in the opening.
I've been saying this that the Teyvat is either VR generated or it's a fake world. Because whenever we open elemental sight, we can see grid lines on the ground. Nahida's attacks are literally mouse pointers and keyboard. Arlecchino is probably injected into the Teyvat system thus the glitch. Like in spider verse where everyone starts glitching if they go outside their dimension.
Probably just cause it's cool and it's the theme Hoyo have in mind for her. Like Tartaglia's scarf that kinda turns into water in the tips. They mentioned something about experimenting with water texture and how they wanted that to be in his design so they added that. Could be the same for her. Or that... It has something to do with her curse. 😅
I already know this is most likely 100% not cannon, but I like to think the reason that she glitches out is because she took over scara's missions after he disappeared. To sorta 'fill' in the gaps since someone would need to fill in his position. Buut thats prob not gonna happen lol
Doesn’t make sense because part of Scaramouche’s role in the Fatui involved him becoming a god, specifically because he’s a puppet person. Like it makes more sense to say that people don’t remember him, and no one filled his shoes.

(a) The Irminsul speculation is definitely false, since it records everything without fail, including the four Descenders albeit lack of info. She can't be someone outside Teyvat because (1) Irminsul should've "seen" her, and (2) she should be recorded as she is. There's a "barrier" administered by Celestia as to whoever can enter and exit Teyvat. Khaenriah didn't even escape their punishment, what's her difference to them if ever? (b) The lore hidden in Fontaine quest implied that it's already the fourth loop/cycle of the world, and Arlecchino has clearly no knowledge of that, because she doesn't even know that Furina is just a shell of a deity, hence her doubt on who held the gnosis. She also ages, has a dark history as an orphan, etc. She's a normal Teyvatian. (c) She can't do the Fontaine units' dolphin leap because she clearly was not raised in Fontaine, or most of her years were not in Fontaine. It was told that all the Fontainians were taught by that because of the prophecy happening anytime, and an as orphan, she was raised in the House when it was still super strict there, as an intel agent, before the Mother died. You can get all these details if y'all read the lores. TLDR: You speculate too much. It's probably just an adverse effect of her power. Or just wait til her story quest, no? You can sleep now.
