Its not so much a matter of big companies giving news orgs instruction on what they can and can't say, the problem is the news orgs will avoid making their investors look bad to prevent them pulling their investment. So networks will basically self censor to keep the money happy.
There is such a thing as bad editors and bad journalists, but every journalist is bad without a good editor. The uncritical reporting coming out of "alt-media" (LIKE THE GUY IN THIS VIDEO) is because there aren't any editors credibility-checking the facts and quality-checking the claims.
I think a better idea would be to do something similar to community notes. Ofc YT videos are much longer than a simple tweet, so it would have to be modified or improved upon for YT's use case.

So I saw a video from Facts Matter with Roman Balmakov and it made a ton of sense. Public companies have an ESG score (environmental, social governance) , how many diversity hires you have on your board, carbon footprint, and LGBT friendly makes this up. As non of an issue as those things are in reality, the ESG score determines how much investment capitol a company can have access to. Sacrificing Tucker, who was calling out this type of shit, especially a company called Blackrock who own a huge chunk of Newscore who owns Fox, could raise their ESG score if Tucker is gone.

@@SrMorua so I’d say my personal opinion is the US is the most prominent center of power in the world and we’re constantly being pulled by special interests to follow agendas to keep our influence over other superpowers’ influence and in order to keep this balancing act from toppling over the people have to be lied to constantly. You can’t really say either side is honest obviously there’s bad republicans that haven’t been shunned for doing things that aren’t so conservative. The democrats constantly complain about the police being too militarized but want to strip all citizens of the power to fight back against a militarized police and then also want a militarized police to go after those that would stand against the government. That’s not to say there aren’t republicans that wouldn’t sell out the right of the people for the right price but my view in general is stay dangerous because once you can’t fight back you’re just going to have to bend to the will of an authoritarian government. Look at China during Covid. They literally welded doors shut and brought rations. Australia forced people into camps though they were accommodating to modern necessities I imagine. In general I don’t think people can expect the government to fix their problems. If everyone did their part in developing themselves and finding their place to contribute to their community, we would be in a much better position than we are currently. Yeah there’s people who are disadvantaged but there’s people in history who’ve done more while coming from less. If everyone took responsibility of themselves we’d have a much easier time weeding out the people who only want to manipulate and mislead people for their own gain pushing someone else’s agenda.

I think the whole problem with ppl going in the building and messing stuff up and stealing stuff is a lot of ppl feel like they are backed into a corner. most of the ppl that work for the government rarely receive punishments for their actions. like a police officer can pull you over for what ever reason he wants to make up, like "suspicion" gets you out of the car and then says he thought you had a weapon and shoots you. even if there is substantial evidence that the cop was in the wrong and you sue him and the police department, but you aren't actually suing him your suing yourself and your neighbors cause tax dollars are what pays you the settlement and what happens to the cop. they get to retire and they get all their pension and you get to pay for it all or they get to take some class. the bottom line is if they don't listen or change and there is never usually a punishment and they don't care if you file a complaint or sue them cause they investigate themselves and you the tax payers are the one paying for their mistake. The footage isn't meant to excuse it, it's meant to show evidence of it being staged. It's not just that some people were peacefully there, they were led there by cops. Plus there have been identified members of groups like BLM and Antifa in with the crowd, so who knows who did what for what reason. I think that more and more people are starting to be logical and not just agreeing with everything a party says, and as a result news companies are finding it harder to find people who don't question their agenda to some extent. I think no matter how biased some of these people still are, they're no longer afraid to speak out against things they truly don't agree with and not just the stuff they're told to disagree with. Opinion shows on news channels are basically just reality shows. It's the equivalent of watching storage wars or something and thinking it's not staged and choreographed. Also, calling someone who is found guilty of something a martyr, that's setting the bar pretty low. Trump is not a martyr. The loosest definition of martyr is someone who suffers. I don't think Trump has come out of anything worse for wear. The internet finds a way to dilute every concept until it applies to everyone.

Totally agree. The public will rise up to remove incorrect reporting. Independent platforms will prevail over a pushed agenda over time as long as the information is accurate and the personalities will remain truthful if they are stating personal opinions as such if there aren’t facts in place. Being honest goes a long ways for public trust. Reporting facts as opinions will ruin a reputation quickly. Just be transparent.
