*original logos created by dozens of highly talented art and graphic design students* High schools: 🤢 *Stolen NFL logos and shitty clip art* High Schools:🤠
Juicebox Julian that’s not cool because they think of the the school not the team which I don’t think that’s fair because the Falcons made their logo and the High school just ripped them off by copying it to their school
Freddy FTW my highschool has the same logo as well. We look almost identical to Georgia except we have blue as one of our primary colors not just red and white
They wouldn’t even do that, they know what it means to the people of the city, to come to that conclusion sounds dumb. That’s like Dallas trying to put a patent on all stars ever used. Lol
Tony Styles mine did too.. Ernie Davis was a native in my hometown so when they merged the south and north side schools together they based the entire team and logo around him.
I bet you there are. If you don’t think the corrupt Chinese gvmt would cooperate in shutting down illegally run shops, you’re either naive or stupid, especially at the behest of a gigantic us conglomerate.
At my highschool the Texas long horns made us change our logo, so we had a city wide competition to see who could come up with the best logo back in 2006
From my basic knowledge of football- Super Bowl 51 Super Bowl 42 Super Bowl 47 Super Bowl 52 Super Bowl 49 Super Bowl 43 Super Bowl 36 Super Bowl 34 Super Bowl 46 Super Bowl 38 Super Bowl 44 Super Bowl 39 Super Bowl 40 Super Bowl 31 Super Bowl 45 Super Bowl 48 Super Bowl 35 Super Bowl 50 Super Bowl 53 I hope I got them all..
It is worth considering that the NFL team gets a little bit of goodwill in the market when their logo is used by local high schools. Everyone wants to feel part of the NFL experience. Allowing high schools to dress up as NFL players provides a nice link with the club.
I remember a story my mother told me that we got sued for our logo. The Oregon Ducks sued my school, a small school in northwest Iowa called the Okoboji Pioneers, sued us because our “O” was to close to their “O”. We had to change it to our current logo and, in our schools rule book, it says that we have to be careful with placing and designing the O on our uniforms.
Who would bother suing high schools? My high school used to have the 85 Patriots logo, but who gives an actual shit about a D7 high school in Ohio? The NFL has better things to do.
I still have no idea as to how a HIGH SCHOOL is taking away MILLIONS of $$$ over a damn logo. It’s not like Westwood High school is a billion dollar organization. The NFL is weak.
My high school actually got sued by the Atlanta Falcons while I was a sophomore because we used their logo. The school ended up switching to a fat, bloated version of the Falcons logo my junior year. My class ring has the old logo while my diploma has the new one. We got the last laugh though as the Falcons came to Houston (where my high school is) and lost the Super Bowl.
My high school copied the old Atlanta Falcons logo, while the baseball here copies the Pirates and the school in the town next to me copies the Lakers, I think another school I went to copied the Tigers, what haven't I seen😂
I don't understand why it would be so difficult to come up with an original logo idea. Most of these schools have art departments or at the very least, talented artists. Have a contest to create a logo. This would have the benefit of getting the whole school involved and promote school pride. Schools like when the students get involved.
My high school was the giants we had white jersey purple helmet with white green bay G for home games it was cheaper and easier to replace those then it was the pin striped purple giant on the white away helmets and we had every home helmet and jersey in pristine condition
Two thoughts. The NFL teams were not always so forgiving. At one point in the early 1990s, the Rams were trying to prohibit anyone’s else from using that nickname and had started to go after high schools (if I recall correctly). Secondly, my high school had its uniforms designed after the University of Tennessee but sought permission (or so the story goes) when it opened 40-plus years ago.
When you look at it business-wise, it kinda make sense because these schools are not making money off the brand. But also, many of these kids are vying to become future NFL players. So these schools indirectly serve as a future talent pool for the league.
There's a High School, Not to Far from me. They have a Eagles logo but it's yellow and orange. There's a Elementaey school with the Vikings logo with a Blue helmet.
Thank you! I got bored waiting for them to actually explain the reason and scrolled through hoping someone would say when they gave the answer instead of 10 minutes of fluff to give a 2 minute answer
Reminds me of my wife and mine stories from high school. She went to Quincy Notre Dame, they marched in the mardi gras parade in New Orleans, the (inebriated) LSU fans thought they were Notre Dame University (despite the high school being the Raiders and not the fighting Irish). The high school I went ti mascot was the blue Devils, we took a trip to Atlanta, making a stop in North Carolina, and people thought we were the Duke blue Devils band.
My school I graduated stole the Minnesota Golden Gophers fight song, the one my father graduated from stole the Ohio State fight song, and the cross town rivals of ours out in drug dealing territory use a Lakers recolored old Seahawks logo. In case you're wondering it's Tri-County North, Dixie, and Eaton in that order, all based out of Ohio.
My high school was the Patriots and we had a similar logo as the Patriots, and during my senior year the Patriots requested (forced) our high school to change the logo or not monetize from their logo.
Where I live (an unknown part of Canada), it's like every school in the district school board has a stolen logo. My school used a blue and white version of the Denver Broncos logo as the main logo. Two of our alternate logos were blue and white versions of the Calgary Stampeders and Western Michigan Broncos logos. There's also a school with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats logo, a school with the Missouri Tigers logo, a catholic school with a darker version of the Rams logo, etc. Those schools are gonna get sued at some point
My school got a cease-and-desist from the University of Miami so we flip where the U was parted and then trademarked the logo calling it “The Spirit U”.Also we got consent from the university of Kansas and our team name is the J-Hawks, our logo is just the Kansas Jay Hawk with a U on its chest.
My school was the school Oregon sued we’re the Riverside Beavers the logo was exactly the same just gold. Now we have a better logo and Oregon state changed theirs anyway
At my old Middle School, I won’t say the actual name, I’ll call them the Premier Middle School. The schools teams for Volleyball, football, and soccer were called the Premier Patriots, and the logo was the exact New England Patriots logo. No changes at all.
I've always wondered why teams can't trademark their nicknames, like Giants, Cardinals, Panthers, Rangers, etc. which have multiple pro/college teams using them. What keeps a franchise/college from trademarking their nickname?
Good video!! My high school is called the Madison Blue Streaks. Logo in the 1970s when I was there featured a BLUE lightning bolt on a white helmet, just a lightning bolt - nothing fancy nor did it even remotely resemble anything from the NFL. 1980s it was changed to the letter"M", again blue on white.
I use to work at a fundraising company. Long story short we would print different items for schools around the country. 95% of these schools logos were from College or professional team's. I honestly thought it was a matter of time before someone got sued.
My old high school uses the Utah Grizzlies logo from the ECHL. But my old Graphic Design teacher I think said they got permission to do it. For every sport that’s not hockey, they just photoshop out the stick.
My high school is known as the Marauders. They could have used the Raiders or Buccaneers logos, but they've either used a monogram, wordmark or a 3/4 view Marauder head.
My high school (Grant) used the Georgia/Green bay logo, another school in my area (Stevenson) used the patriots logo, and another school (Vernon Hills) got to use Van Halen's VH logo for their school.
My high school stole the Denver Broncos logo, painted it's mane and eye green, and called themselves the Mustangs. I thought it was funny in high school, but I didn't realize this was such a big thing.
4:46 and yet they have done no such thing in Corry PA at my old High School? I'm pretty sure Walmart just sells Oregon Beavers merch at our local Walmart to the point that people in town THINK it's our logo. lol
