Wow. I remember when I joined the Army in 1987. When we went to the DSG boozer in Pucka we rocked on to the 60's Vietnam music. I loved those times. Russel Morris's song was one of them. Thank you:)
Oh my fucking god!!!!! Ladies! Take a bow!! That just BLEW my socks off!!!! 🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 And let’s give it up also to that badass band. Just AWESOME!
The best thing about this is that not one of these talented ladies outshines the other. They each bring their own unique brand of brilliance and it comes together into something magical. Très bon 👏
Funny thing is that it’s 2 parts and 9 minutes too short. Original was so complicated that it was only released in mono and so long that it was 3 parts and about 13.5 minutes long.
I've always thought that the Russell Morris recording of this song is one of the best rock music recordings ever. This live version takes it to another level. Kate, Mahalia and Nikka, you are awesome.
No it does not! Its overdone. Not even close to the original. Just way to oversung and overproduced. Sounds more like a jazz cover.Doesnt capture the psychedelic feel of tge song. This song was groundbreaking, written by Johhny Young, produced by Molly Meldrum, the original backing by a band called Lotus.
Hi, I love this cover and I'm surprised it hasn't attracted as much attention as I think it should. However, Can you give me some more information on the band. They are so good.
That's rad . What's forgotten is real talent have here in australia ,cant always xfactor it i like the real thing dont you ? Keep it real, music is a soul thing
I had been listening to Nikka Acosta Push and Pull version w/ Prince. And this song popped up in my queue and within 30 seconds I immediately put it on loop. I am immediately hooked 😊 I must’ve listened to this at least 50 times already please tell me there are more songs that you ladies have done together?? You are not only each beautiful women but your voices are incredible outstanding unique inspirational I could go on and on and I am a former singer myself so I really appreciate your sound a lot !!!!! So keep on rocking ladies😊
Wow, wow, wow !!! To all the non-Australians, you have just listened to a classic Australian song written by Australian Johny Young and originally sung by the Australian legendary singer Russell Morris and now covered by these 3 incredible voices
Is it just me me or is this actually better than the original? It think it's better than the original! How have I not heard this played on Australian radio?
The best ANZAC present I have ever seen in my life. Appreciate the visual representation of the era, such homage to just how good the past was. I am sure the gloss cherry red SG Gibson is the real thing. And the Electric Piano and Organ, Bass, Drums. Could not imagine a better performance😊❤
You 3 wonderfully talented ladies are indeed the 'Real Thing'! You captured the essence of this classic song and take it to a new level i never knew it needed until now. Love how you let it it rip and the chemistry between you all was plain to see . So good - can we have some more please.......
She played a couple of times in Sydney in late 20 and early 21- wouldn’t surprise me if she’s been living here during the pandemic. I adore her- Like a Feather is an absolute classic.
@@trentlee1296 WOW.. She's so underrated as an artist. Her performance with Prince was incredible!! I'm surprised she didn't become a bigger star! She lives here as she's married to Justin Stanley..( Ex Noiseworks etc.)
Was gutted Nikka’s Melbourne gig got cancelled. Was my birthday weekend and was SOOO looking forward to it. Discovering this clip with such fierce ladies doing their thang has made my day.
@@melsmithmel yeah, he’s co-produced some of her stuff, and also sang a song she wrote called Silver Tongue. I just taught myself to play it on the weekend. It’s beautiful.
The definition of talent, passion and soul put together in a truly outstanding cover and performance , it's a shame many today can't sing with these 3 attributes and just rely on trend to make it..
I absolutely love these women and Mahalia Barnes is one of my favorites too . But I couldn't make a decision about which one of these was better than the other . It's just talent that can't be match . Other ones might be as good but no way they could be any better .
I fucking loved this performance. The band was magnificent and those voices were not of this world. I hope you girls do more music together you will take the world by storm
@@DevonRexLady not really, a bit too screechy and warbly for me,especially live. Loud doesn't always equal good🤷🏻♂️ But good on you,its cool you like her 👍
