Apparently multiple cover versions were released at the same time in the US. People couldn't agree on a single popular version and so it never became a hit there.
@@elainederbyshire9635 Most of the music/noise today is so annoying but I suppose its the sign that times have changed, for the worse in my view. This noise will surely never be played 30/40yrs ahead like these old classics. And bring back Tamla Motown any time. Best wishes.
Write all these years, he still sounds so clear and crisp. What a voice. Love this song. Made a video for my son first year birthday with this song. He is 14 years old now. I work late into the early morning hours. I still tuck him into bed as he tends to kick off his blanket in the middle of the night. Love that little boy.
My husband dedicated this song to me a few months after we met and fell in l❤ve 38 years ago and has been our song ever since. happy memories .. thank you ❤
@@wendycadogan-charles-beame4358 The one with the afro left the group in early 90's. He died in 2000. The 3 here are main singer Chris Amoo, Eddie Amoo guy on the left (his brother) died 2018. The other is Dave Smith who is still performing with Chris.
This is my wedding song played 25 years ago and my husband and I still together 30 years on. The legendary Eddie Amoo forever in our hearts ♥️ never forgotten. Thank you for all the memories and music that lives on in L8 and beyond. Love you forever. 😘🙏

I dating Ray Lake out of The Real Thing when they were called Vocal Perfection and performed in The Abercorn in Belfast. I was 17. Ray was just lovely. He used to write to me every day. We lost touch when I moved. I was delighted when they became famous as they were back by public demand every 3weeks to the Abercorn. Sadly Ray died too young 😪 I,c BBC rex,
See this fantastic group a couple of years ago in Herne Bay. RIP Eddie, such a huge loss to the world of music! Chris' voice is just as amazing now as it was over 40 years ago! Such a good time, won't be the same without Eddie! So glad I had the chance to see them before Eddie passed away! Such a fantastic tune too!! My favourite of all their songs is You'll Never Know What You're Missing!
I was at this concert and enjoyed talking to the lads after the gig, missing Edward, but Chris and Dave carry the torch for music from Liverpool, when Eddie was young the Beatles backed him one night, check out 'everything ' on DVD
One of my most wonderful music experiences live. The did an impromptu event at Butlins when the came back on to Centre Stage after being there earlier in the evening saying we have had a great time listening to the others we just want to do are set again! Butlins could not stop them! Brilliant just there for the music
I had a boyfriend he promised the exact impossibility of these lyrics and I quit him because I was afraid this universe would collapse.1976 Premiere of this song. 2013 and his vocals was still POWERFUL. What a mfking Masterpiece. Beautiful lyrics and the audience was lit.
The older you get the better you get cannot be said of some from that era but these guys still sound so damn good. Sad news about Eddy but at least I got to meet them and sound engineer a couple of there shows at Butlins, Skegness in 2000/2001
Reading about Eddy's death as brought me here this evening. Takes me back 40 years when I saw the guys performing this at Bailey's in Watford. Great memories!
This is my all time favorite song in fact I dedicate it to all my daughters they are my everything.... I can even move the mountain for their sake. Thank you for sharing.
