The real Ukrainian Huculka Ksenia 1956 Sonia Sakhno restored movie clip 

Here is another restored clip from the 1956 Ukrainian feature film Huculka Ksenia. In memory of Sonia Sakhno (1930 - 2023). The Ukrainian operetta Huculka Ksenia was written by composer Yaroslav Barnych prior to World War II but during World War II, his entire archive was lost. After World War II, the Ukrainian National Federation asked Yaroslav Barbych to recreate Huculka Ksenia. It was restored and modernized to the postwar era of the early 1950s. Toronto soprano Sonia Sakhno was asked to be Huculka Ksenia and she played the role on stage to much success and in the 1956 feature film produced in Toronto, Canada. This movie today is a major rarity.
