@@Daikon_Micucci my question is why do Christian zealots choose gamer threads to post bible scripture , recruitment posts ... Like they think kids ,teenagers and hardcore gamers who love some kind of realistic violent games are going to suddenly go all "pacifist" , give up gaming in violent games, and go all goody goody church going Christian after reading a scripture post in a thread?? Ive seen it so many times. On gamer to humour and meme threads.. its just so f#cking annoying. I swear, its like they are the fun police. And the intrusiveness and just sheer stupidity of it, and the fact they are somehow trying to recruit you in what should be a fans only comments section and place of enjoyment and escapism from all the 24-7 bullshit of the outside world. It literally aggravates me on a level I cant even articulate, it annoys absolute f#ck out of me. Makes me cringe so hard I could bite a chunk out of a brick.
I was like "you only go to sloan to heal snuffles and bee line to the strip now GET BACK OUT THERE AND FIX THE RATS LEG!" All aminals must be healed and happy
@@scarletjester7831 4: Get told by Chomps Lewis about Deathclaws in the Quarry 5: Run pass Sloan towards the Black Mountain shortcut to get to New Vegas
Same past that camp north of first town past cazadors down past the fields with the broken down house just gotta sneak and be carefull and turn your pip boy light off@@armichevieradeniz
No because you get the choice of comprehension or educated at level 4, you best take it at level 6 meaning you have so much inventory space just on skill books! A bitch in hardcore edit: you guys farm too much, game turns into bullet sponge hell at higher levels so i can't even slightly understand why you'd want that
@@BillehBobJoe I tend to hit 100 in all skills at around level 45, so I pass on Educated. I could pass on Comprehension instead, but the bonus to skill magazines is so hard to play without. I'm too OCD about nailing skill checks
@@BillehBobJoe Waste of a perk taking educated if you are collecting skill books. Between base game and DLC there are 94 skill books (you can also get like 8 more to spawn in Honest Hearts if you are patient with save scums), way more than enough to get every skill to 100. Plus skill books have the added bonus of being able to raise skills "above" 100 and while that doesn't normally do anything, it does mean the debuffs from rad poisoning won't take your skills below 100, so Rad Child becomes somehow even more busted
@@LivelyParadox the extra two points per level are very helpful in the early going. Getting speech and lockpick up fast are essential, and grabbing all of those skill books right out of goodsprings is not a fun process. Not to mention it's a free perk if you do the double perks glitch, as it's one of the only ones you can't keep after performing said glitch.
I went to Sloan in my first playthrough once I was around lvl 6-10 it was nice seeing a standing mole rat and healing its injury. I proceeded to get torn to pieces by deathclaws mins later.
I wanted to reach NV rught from the start and came up with a plan to lure the deathclaw to this little town, that way everyone would just kill them 1 by 1, the first Deathclaw I see, was a young one so I sniped it and lured it back to town, it got to me fast and I was nearing town, ive seen that dude react with his molerat running with a wrench I think, i turned back to look and saw the molerat head rolling by my screen and the dude was dead already, i got to town expecting to kill this young Deathclaw and it killed everyone in town except the store dude.

Preach brudda. This is especially boring if you play mostly vanilla game without difficulty mods because on very hard + hardcore game still too easy even without minmaxing
better pro route: Make your build with 9 intelligence, tag lockpicking and take good natured. Run right for repconn HQ, steal the power armor and money from the top, anything else you can get your hands on (microfusion cells, nikola tesla book). Head to the gun runners, then go up to the sacked caravan to loot combat armor and plasma rifles. Sell loot to the gun runners, will have to wait a few days for cap refill (the vendor in crimson caravan can help speed it up). Head to the clinic, and get the intelligence implant. This way you get 10 intelligence before your first level up for the bonus skill points, but don't have to actually spec 10 into it, so you have an extra point to spend elsewhere. Using the black mountain pass, you can loot the ncr soldier for his uniform and use it to take the monorail to the strip. Walk into the tops and get free 3 levels or something just from seeing Benny. Be sure to grab a locksmith magazine from a mailbox in good springs or from asking sunny about work in goodsprings, to get in the first floor locked repconn door.
Is better to nuke the NCR and the Legion before killing Benny, that way they will forgive you all your crimes when you leave the tops and you will have two new sections of the map open.
My not so pro way is just 9 luck winning on all the casinos and buying every implant "for free" I just listen to some music while beating every casino at blackjack lol
Yes every playthrough take the skill books, donation money, ammo, medical supplies. But also with the skill books there's on in good springs, lone wolf radio, Sloan of course, bison Steve hotel, Nevada highway station, the gas station before ncr outpost and ncr outpost. So you can get a lot of skills raised early because of those. I mean there are tons more I just personally feel like the early early game is right down to Mojave outpost and then it sort of picks up more.
On my plays I never cared about collecting skill books. Or optimizing bobble heads etc. single player game so I always just mod in 10 in each stat and enjoy all the quest pathways.
@@genericscout5408 I can't imagine having fun by cheating myself in full stats, how does that even feel remotely like you're not just skipping an entire aspect of the game?
@@TheFlameHaze1 to be fair vanilla new vegas is so easy to break in half with luck builds that you might as well be cheating you gotta run some kind of rebalance/difficulty mod to really have the want to focus on this stuff
You can also scrap it, which gives you most (potentially all, can't quite remember) of the components needed to repair eddie in Primm. If you're lacking the repair to do so easily, it's a great way to get them as your first companion. (it's also evil, even though it doesn't affect much)
Comprehension is real nice with magazine. Saves you some skill points to invest in other skills that’s not as prevalent in skill checks. The additional point from reading books is a bonus.
@@Unholycero If your goal is to make it paste them deathclaw area towards the strip, going from sloan and running towards the super mutants and nightkin to the rock ambush is a great place to escape north i use that route all the time, no need for stealth just a stimpak or 2 if the mutants get a few shots in at you while your running
I just climb mountains in quarry junction and i clip through them, when a deathclaw spots me, i just stay still on a spot on the mountains that i know a deathclaw cant get to. Keep doing tha and you'll eventually make it to one of the freeside gates
I feel like I should get Karma for not stealing it but I guess I'd have had to bother noticing it was there in the first place. At level one, I more often than not loot enough material to repair ED-E, repair him, then dip into 'Lonesome Road' so I can get the first circuit board upgrade that lets him repair my equipped weapon (13hr cooldown). Then I return to the Mojave and carry on. It's handy to keep my weapons in good shape but it also lets me restore unwanted weapons I can use to barter for stuff I do want. More rarely, I'll grab a stealthboy in Goodsprings, steal a NCR uniform at the camp outside of Primm then use the stealthboy to sneak past the Deathclaws down the road from Sloan (not the quarry), get to the trading post, recruit Veronica (get her some power armor from the Rocket Museum), proceed to camp McCarran, put on the stolen NCR uniform and ride the monorail into the strip. Then after dealing w/Mr. House I can turn in a pair of snowglobes for some starting funds, bleed the casinos dry at the blackjack table and then get some implants from Dr. Usangi.
@@chancejanociak1279 you can leave lonesome road at any time, so you can just go there, grab the first Ed-E upgrade, which isn't behind any enemies, and leave until you actually want to do lonesome road
you can even end up with 2 stealth boys if you quicksave outside victor's shack and keep trying to get one to spawn in the ammo boxes, then kill joe cobb and take his
Wanna know how New Vegas Veteran play it ? Put all SPECIAL points in Luck, then choose Sneak, Barter, Speech. Sneak around Deathclaws in Sloan area a run straight to Atomic Cowboy to break a bank. That's how I got myself around 50-60k at level 4 ( banned from all casinos)
I always collect all the books and magazines until I am able to get the perk that gives you the extra skill point from books just to maximize on skills
other than the skill books, all the fallout 2 references like the deathclaw omelet and the music (which is the theme of the town modoc in fo2) makes me a very happy salesman.
New Vegas Strip or bust! Honestly. You get the cigarette butts from the grave outside Goodsprings, go to the Strip, level up like 4 times from just walking into the Tops and seeing Benny, level Speech up to 30, ambush Benny in his room, and badda-bing, you've got the best 9MM in the game. From there, you can go where you want.
Yea because wasting skill books without the comprehension perk and getting an irrelevant amount of caps while fighting coyotes is big brain. I prefer starting the lonesome road dlc really early, not going too deep into it, but getting some impressive armor and weapons without leaving the silo. Then you go back to the Mojave lvl one with Riot armor and some arc welders, etc.
I tend to wait until level 6 before consuming the mags mainly because to the extra points instead of 3 get 4. Max out all skill to 100 by between lvl20 to 25 with dlc.
I stole the last conducter i needed for a new sheriff and then i got caught in the cabin while they were all sleeping, i tried to run away until i noticed one of them took alot of my supplies including the rest if the conductors, so i went back, in the end that cabin became a bloodbath 😅
I went to sloan at level 14 but then a deathclaw alpha somewhow glitched thru the quarry walls and ended up in sloan, i couldnt get out because if i went outside one of the buildings it would kill ke instantly, i had no other saves then and i had to reload to when i was level 12... Bruh.
in quarry junction have even more caps, there's like 30,000 caps if im not mistaken, in a container near those giant tractors, you should absolutely go there if you're first time playing, everyone did
Dont forget 12 pulse grenades in the metal box between beds on the right side as you enter that shack. Its 6 grenades in that box,but the box itself is duplicated. Loot one and hover the croshairs on the box and move them slightly until metal box without [empty] shows up for another 6.
Easy Pete Dynamite > Chances Knife > Schoolhouse > Sloan > Tribal Village is the best start IMO. Especially if you do the tutorial and save the villager to get free water.
for some reason i read the title wrong, i know where Sloan is, but before i watched the video i thought the video was gonna be more about going past Sloan. that's why when you put veteran, i had to think a bit, but once you went in there i was like, alright i know about that. but that is also true as well, because most people familiar with the game will always tell new players not to go that way. although some people still do it any way, the guy that stops you the first time already gives you a heads up. the people in goodsprings will say the same, if only we got friendly advice like that in Fallout 3. but in some ways i kinda like the idea of not knowing what's out past one direction or another, now the only thing people will say in Fallout 3, they'll mentioned about DC being a war zone, but that's about it. but DC is like the heart of the game, it's not the hardest areas of the game, but it certainly has it's challenges considering you have alot of Super Mutants. but in Fallout New Vegas you'll be warned about why you don't want to go this way, i think it's also the way Obsidian went about the game. they kinda want you to go a certain way, not that everyone obeys that, if you know the game well enough you sneak past a few deathclaws, but not out in the open. they can spot you even if your sneak skill is a decent amount with a steathboy pack, but that one girl who happens to be in Sloan wants a deathclaw egg so she can make a recipe. but good luck getting one of those in the early stages of the game, there is one place you can get one, you still have to tangle with a deathclaw female.
You also have a chance to get a stealth boy inside one of the houses, making it very easy to sneak past the deathclaws and go straight into NV to buy an int implant at level 1.
I just started my first play through of New Vegas ever. That's cool but this seems like just another route. Plus now I have the perks to make those books even better. I haven't had less than 1000 caps since I made that much, have about 2000 right now at level 6. Okay with NCR, Idolized by Goodsprings, Powder Gangers are dead except those that went east or something, I have two sets of armor fully maintained, so...much...ammo, and like 10 guns nearly fully maintained.
If you aren't heading straight into lonesome road at level one and clearing out that missile silo... Well ya should. Especially for the 6-8K caps worth of loot inside and free set of us army combat armor + general outfit and various mid game weapons.
If anyone is interested I got the fatman today at lvl1 .. got a pip boy from the safe in the school house at good springs, and then used sneak to get the fatman from cotton wood crater. Fun to mess around with using ammo glitch, and you can have infinite nukes at lvl 1. I used 3 weapon repair kits btw to fix it.
Level 3-4, in my case, because I don't want to make a second trip to get the XP for fixing the generator and healing Snuffles, and I need those levels to get repair and first aid high enough.
556 hours is a good start... but still around 9600 short of what I've put into both 3 and New Vegas lol. I usually pass through Sloan on the way to Gun Runners, sneaking past the Deathclaws with the stealth boy you get from killing Joe Cobb (after already killing Ringo of course, so I can do the Chet speech check glitch to be max level before leaving Goodsprings lol)
Lol I’ve played this game more than any other and I never once went to Sloan first; I guess I’ve been scarred by my experience of going anywhere near that area when I first started playing long, long ago as we all know there’s Cazadors, scorpions and even deathclaws if you venture too far away from Sloan. I basically go after the first weapons and buff up my skills to complete the first set of quests tailored to the specific character I’m playing; if I’m playing with energy weapons for example, I’m likely role playing as part of the Brotherhood or an Enclave remnant, so after getting ED-E first thing after good springs and getting to Primn, if I want to I’ll skip all the way to Repconn Headquarters and get the Q-35 Modulator without the need of any lockpicking but a luck skill of 7 (I always put luck at 8 on this build from the start) to pass the speech check with the robot on the third floor to not trip the alarm, get the key from the suitcase to the 100 skill door and computer where the gun is at, nab that mf for free, unlock the door with all the ammo, run to the Repconn Test Site probably with Boone as well and after working on my science, speech and repair I think since Goodsprings, finish Come Fly With Me with flying colors, idolized by Novac, free house, lots of ammo and soon after I’m off to do the Brotherhood quest line before I really touch anything else unless it’s associated with the Brotherhood quests such as going to the Boomers and having to talk to Mother Pearl before being able to retrieve the holotape from the dead Brotherhood Patrol because you’ll just get shelled, saying screw it I’ll just do the Boomers quests now because I’m already here. I know I was all over the place but you catch my drift lol
The first thing I do is grind levels until I'm at level 14 when Jury Rigging becomes available and literally all of the skill points go into science, repair and lockpicking. I do this in preparation for Dead Money because even though it's fun, it's still kind of a drag to lose all your gear while playing through it. I just want over and done with.
