Great video, one of my favorite baits. I've found that the new "made in China" Teeny Pop-R's have terrible hooks on them, very brittle and snap easily. The "made in Guatemala" poppers I've never had this problem with. I generally fish with a 6 1/2' glass ultralight spinning rod (think noodle) with a size 25 reel and 4# test. It casts a Teeny Pop-R a mile and a ton of fun in the kayak on this light stuff. They are an amazing bait and I never see anyone else using them. My favorite has been the bass with the black spots on the bottom.

Thanks Denny. I'm up at pecks tonight, cutting some firewood with mom and dad tomorrow. I'm targeting an early June trip to Bruce lake and Shohola and will have a few small top waters with me. Can't wait for some warm days.

I use the Teeny pop-R on a regular with bfs gear I usually through it on 5 - 7 pound braid with 8 pound mono leader. I often will work the bait faster with a walking the dog type motion sometimes slowing it down but still using the walk the dog cadence. I catch several bass on this technique when other top water baits don't produce. It's one of my favorites when the bait fish or small or conditions are tuff. I do switch out the hooks I use an owner hook on the from usually and a Lucky Craft feather hook on the back. I even put a single hook in the front it actually works very well. I have a couple bait caster I will use the Curado bfs, Aldebaren bfs and paid it up with a Dobyns bfs rod, Edge bfs rod (my favorite) or a shimano sensilite bfs a great budget rod.There are also a few good chinese reels & rods but do your research on those. I’m migrating more and more to finesse fishing due to heavy fishing pressure on local lakes. Tournaments and recreational fishermen are hammering the lakes here in NC. It’s concerning.

I am seeing a similar trend here in PA. Every now and then someone will buck the trend and throw big glide baits with some impressive results.
