For me Alexey is the best tactician ever to fight in K1. A true legend that left behind some of the most spectacular and unexpected KO's. It's true he could have possibly achieved more if not his problems, but who is perfect? All I wanna say is: thank you Red Scorpion, you were a joy to watch! Your fans will never forget you...
I used to defend Badr non stop against "haters"... that's until the day I saw this vid. When he had the guts to say 'Yea Iggy is just looking for one more paycheck" in this vid (pardon the transaltion). I lost all respect for Badr. U dont diss a man who held u up when ur winded. Guess only a real fighter understands this, not a Mayweather wannabe celeb.

I remember in the early days when k1 was ruled by my countrymen the dutch... the only foreign fighter they would shit themself for was the red scorpion! never will forget the look on fighters faces when those eerie violins started playing! total psych warfare!
one of the best ever, his cocky style to fight made you think doesnt he take it seriuos, but when watching him longer you could see how intelligent he was, his strokes had damn power and he was always a very fair guy, i just can watch up to him, great great russian red scorpion

I know what you mean. I was a kid when I saw him fight. My favorites were Aerts, CroCop, but the Red Scorpion I always respected. He was this guy with a different style that could knock out guys with beautiful knees. Even his entrance song was class. It was sad to see him go out like that.

this is very well done. makes me very sad. I too researched alexey's past and find it a complete sham that he isn't fighting up to his potential and his name will never be as respected as it should

Nice music, great technician..still one of the best...it takes a lot to always fight...maybe he got tired every now and then..had some issues maybe left or right...but still a great fighter..

Most impressive fight I saw was against Cyril Abidi. Abidis corner was forced to throw the towel due to Alexeys low kicks. Cyril could almost stand and if the fight would have lasted, that leg would have been gone for sure. Low kicks like a scorpion sting, undefendable. Great fighter, Alexey had so much style, almost grace in the ring!

Best fighter ever in my eyes (mind you I am Dutch!) who never won the K1. I know from fighters who were in the K1 with him he drunk a bottle of wodka before entering the ring.... Alexey wasted his career, and he never was KO'd
I love the kick boxer Alexey Ignashov. He was shining every time he fought in the ring. But once when he continued fighting and something wrong happened, he lost many things, the fame, the chance and expectations from fans. Similarly, K-1 is on the decline nowadays. While it may be true, I believe that he's one of the best kick boxer!

i met alex in auckland i 2009/10 doing community work because hed been caught drink driving, anyway he is such a humble guy and i want to know if anyone knows where he is?
He is still fighting, just announced last week he is going to fight Badr Hari for a third time! In Oct. 2013 At Legend in Moscow! Cant wait! Go Ignashov!!!
